Thanks for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! You're right, they don't make this model anymore. The closest thing is the minimalist belt. You can find it here: Canada: bit.ly/3Ef7vwd or bit.ly/3WOvxH3 US: bit.ly/3qpWKnD or bit.ly/3PaoRSb *affiliate links. I earn a small commission on verified purchases. It doesn't cost you anything and it helps support me!
Information is also in the description of the video (looks like my previous comment was maybe removed?). I personally got the PFD on Mustang's website. Let me know if you have any other question. FYI some links are affiliate links. I earn a small commission on verified purchases. It doesn't cost you anything and it helps support me!
Quick question. Have you ever tried to put it on with a bit of swell and wind? If you mange to get it on you will find that it will just pop back off over your head or could actually drown you!
This is a great point and I would suspect that a company like Mustang Survival would not make something that isn't going to help you and give you a chance of surviving an unfortunate situation. When testing this model it was extremely secure around my head without using and tying the extra straps.
They are reusable. If you engage the CO2 canister to inflate the PFD you need to replace just the CO2 canister. Check out the full video here to see what it looks like to replace. ruclips.net/video/lfUZAmG3DZM/видео.htmlsi=fZPMhE4s_op0tD0K
Yes! I want to film this again with the updated Mustang waist-belt PFD and I would get someone to film me engaging it in the water. For this video I really wanted to capture and see the entire process in slow motion!
The apparatus was originally designed for individuals learning to swim, swimmers prone to cramping, and scuba divers. It is compact and does not hinder diving or swimming activities. Shukor, M.Y. 1998. Aquatic lifesaving or support apparatus. Malaysian filing no PI98001975. Filed 04/05/1998
Thanks for your comment and insight. I don't know the full history of inflatable waist belts but I suspect they were invented for emergency situations like this one for paddling and the ones on airplanes.
Thanks for bringing so much energy and entertainment into SUP safety. 😎🤙
Thanks so much, Ethan! Just check out your channel and subscribed. Well done! 🤙🏼
@@PaddleAdventurer Thanks 🤙I'm subscribed to you as well and looking forward to more of your SUP content. 😁
Thank you! Same to you 🤙🏼
Just what I was looking for. But it doesn't seem to be for sale anymore.

Nice to see the pfd in action!
It was a blast to pull the tab! It happened quickly and was super buoyant in the water! 🙌🏼🛟
I can't breathe, laughing too hard 😂 excellent instructional video though 👍🏻
😆 I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Nice review! Few wearers actually get in the water.👍👍😁🇺🇸
Thanks for the kind comment! I think its important to test and try your equipment and I am more than happy to share my experiences. 🙌🏼
Where do you buy your Mustang life vest
Thx

Next Time - Deploy falling off your board please
Thanks for watching and for the great suggestion! I love this idea and need to think about how to best capture it on the water.

SAFETY FIRST!!! 😆😆😆
Safety never takes a holiday 😆
I wear a traditional PFD. If you have to use this, is this a one time use and throw away kind of thing?

She should have jumped in the water and then inflated the PFD. I wear glasses - I will not use one of these.

Does it fill completely or do you still have to manually blow into it like other versions?
When the CO2 is activated it fully fills it - fast and lots of pressure.
