My two favorite red lipsticks are MAC's Ruby Woo and Russian Red. They always make me feel like a badass when I wear them, even to the grocery store. LOL
I love Russian Red! Revlon's "Really Red" is a good dupe for it. So is Wet and Wild's "Stoplight Red". I apply Russian Red at home and carry either of the other two in my purse for touch ups--don't want my beloved (and more expensive) MAC lippie to melt in my car! I also melt Ruby Woo and Russian Red together to create a custom red color that I keep in a pallet. (Just an idea!)
I was surprised, since you mentioned Marilyn Monroe that you didn't feature the lipstick she actually wore that is still available today - Max Factor in Ruby Red. Max Factor really isn't covered on beauty channels and a lot of their make-up especially their lipsticks are the bomb.
The formula isn’t as good as Nars Dragon Girl to me, while they looo strikingly similar. Ruby Woo is amazing, but it kinda bleeds if it touches food (oil). Still, a staple that I love

My all time favourite red lipstick is L’Oreal’s Colour Riche 120 Rouge St. Germain, it is the most beautiful and saturated Red ive ever worn. It takes one swipe to cover your whole lip, its so pigmented and not to mention it smells fantastic. It doesn’t dry out your lips and the packaging is very pretty, its also very secure and wont come apart in your bag. I believe its blue based and its my #1 recommendation for anyone,it goes with all skintones. I recommend it, and the whole line to anyone looking for a good long lasting lipstick.

The first red lipstick I ever owned was NYC in Retro Red and I loved it. My current favorites are Maybelline's Super Stay Matte Ink in Pioneer and Milani's in 67 Matte Confidence. I love how richly pigmented both are and how long they both last respectivly even though Maybelline is a liquid lip and Milani is a classic cream. 💄💋

omg, PINUP GIRL on that first one! My favorite red will forever be the original MAC Viva Glam No. 1. It was the one that started it all. Opaque matte, deep blue red, with a hint of brown, it was an absolutely amazing color, flattering on many skin tones. Blew Ruby Woo out of the water. I nursed my one single tube for years. The formula for the version they have out now has been changed more than once, so it's never been the same as the original. For awhile NYX had a couple of good dupes (Alabama was one), back in the "round black tube" days.
I saw you showed the Besame literature, but didn’t mention their lipstick! Victory red is a beautiful red and their brand’s whole thing is making replicas of vintage lipsticks. They have different colors and have branched our into other cosmetics, but they’re best known for their red lipsticks. And their packaging is beautiful!

How do you get the Maybelline liquid ink to stop being sticky? I bought Heroine because I loved the shade but even when I apply just the tiniest amount it won't stop being horribly sticky, even after like half an hour. I love the Nars matte lip pencil in Cruella (have to wear a balm under that one though). Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream has some beautiful blue-based reds too: Barcelona and Monte Carlo.

I think i own about 30 different red lips and my all time favorite is Too Faced Lady Balls for sure! I also really like the one from Urban Decay in the liquid lips. I can't think of the name of it right now. Red lips is definitely my signature.
As a fair and cool-toned gal, I love a blue-based red lipstick. My fave is UD F-bomb in the sheer formula. I call it my “red with training wheels.” You definitely get the red lip but it’s not as bold as a more opaque red - but I don’t find it turns cherry pink on me, which a lot of more sheer reds tend to do, and it’s easier to apply than, say, red liquid lip. I love that you included historical facts! I always rock a red lip on August 18th.

Even though I always wore colorful makeup and eyeshadow for some reason I used to feel red lipstick is too much and will bring too much attention to my face, lips. About six months ago I bought my first red lipstick and started to love how feminine and pretty makes me feel and started collecting different shades and brands and having so much fun wearing them. My favorite was an Elizabeth Arden one long discontinued, I went to every department store in my area carrying the remnants of the last tube to find the perfect match in color/texture/opacity - it is Fashion Fair’s Cherry Wine. I also like MAC Russian Red, it is very similar.

omg, PINUP GIRL on that first one! My favorite red will forever be the original MAC Viva Glam No. 1. It was the one that started it all. Opaque matte, deep blue red, with a hint of brown, it was an absolutely amazing color, flattering on many skin tones. Blew Ruby Woo out of the water. I nursed my one single tube for years. The formula for the version they have out now has been changed more than once, so it's never been the same as the original. For awhile NYX had a couple of good dupes (Alabama was one), back in the "round black tube" days.
I saw you showed the Besame literature, but didn’t mention their lipstick! Victory red is a beautiful red and their brand’s whole thing is making replicas of vintage lipsticks. They have different colors and have branched our into other cosmetics, but they’re best known for their red lipsticks. And their packaging is beautiful!
Umm... Marilyn Monroe wore their mascara and many other products from their line of cosmetics. I don't believe their products to be replicas.

I prefer an orange based red as I feel it’s the most flattering. I’ve never found a blue based red that I like but will definitely try the Sephora one. Also like the fun facts!

My favorite red is MAC’s Russian Red! I had a few “red” lipsticks from the drugstore but they all looked pink on me. But Russian Red is perfect!

How do you get the Maybelline liquid ink to stop being sticky? I bought Heroine because I loved the shade but even when I apply just the tiniest amount it won't stop being horribly sticky, even after like half an hour. I know that people love these, so I wonder if I just had a bad batch or something?

I have fair skin and really like Lipstick Queen in Saint Red. It has a slightly more shear coverage than the liquid lipsticks in the video, but stays put and looks beautiful. Thank you for the great video!

Wow Zabrena, I looooved this video because I love history and I looove red lipstick! My favorite fact was the victory lipstick one, for sure. I would’ve done that as well. Anyway, Wet N Wild has quite a few blue based reds across their line that I adore but unfortunately I can’t remember their names, and I’m too lazy to get my buttocks up off the couch right now to go check 🙃. I love the Nars matte lip pencil in Cruella (have to wear a balm under that one though). Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream has some beautiful blue-based reds too: Barcelona and Monte Carlo.

I think i own about 30 different red lips and my all time favorite is Too Faced Lady Balls for sure! I also really like the one from Urban Decay in the liquid lips. I can't think of the name of it right now. Red lips is definitely my signature.
As a fair and cool-toned gal, I love a blue-based red lipstick. My fave is UD F-bomb in the sheer formula. I call it my “red with training wheels.” You definitely get the red lip but it’s not as bold as a more opaque red - but I don’t find it turns cherry pink on me, which a lot of more sheer reds tend to do, and it’s easier to apply than, say, red liquid lip. I love that you included historical facts! I always rock a red lip on August 18th.

My favourite red lipsticks are all from Besamé, honestly, there's a red for every occasion and they feel so luxurious and special. Besamé Red and American Beauty have to be my top 2! (I love cool-toned, bold reds, and vampy shades too)

At age 52 I just started wearing red lipstick. Even though I always wore colorful makeup and eyeshadow for some reason I used to feel red lipstick is too much and will bring too much attention to my face, lips.
About six months ago I bought my first red lipstick and started to love how feminine and pretty makes me feel and started collecting different shades and brands and having so much fun wearing them. I also love the blue tone reds as well, and feel can just put some red lipstick and don't even need much more makeup at times. Thanks gorgeous for another great video.

My favorite was an Elizabeth Arden one long discontinued, I went to every department store in my area carrying the remnants of the last tube to find the perfect match in color/texture/opacity - it is Fashion Fair’s Cherry Wine. I also like MAC Russian Red, it is very similar.

The Maybelline Matte Ink in Pioneer never lets me down. Bite Beauty does lots of reds, but Gazpacho is really blue and bright - so pretty!
