- Bonjour everyone! this video is about my go to look. A classic : red lipstick. Nothing special about this video. No magic trick. I just wanted to do a little video about the basics of red lipstick. I have this deep connection with the color Red. It is my best-friend, forever love, and my support system. Red to me is powerful, has so much energy and is a staple in my culture. The day I am not feeling it. Or I am tired, i put my red on and BOUM i am back. I do believe that everyone can wear a Red lipstick and I encourage you to try it, so you can feel that too. ❤️

I'm obsessed with red lips. Just started in Nov/Dec 2022 when I found that energy within me that is bold and passionate and not caring what people say anymore! I'm 48.
Im 33 and just started. 😂 I don’t even do any make up but think the lips can be bold. ❤
Wonderful! When you start dressing for yourself to make yourself happy and beautiful, that is when you stop caring about others opinions: because you are not longer dressing for them!

I miss lipstick....I wear a bold liquid lip under the mask just for a feeling of that confidence..... Sort of like when you wear fancy undergarments... You know it's there but no one can see.... it makes you stand a bit taller and prouder.
I did that at the start of the pandemic but my lipsticks always smudged on the inside of my masks so I stopped 😭
What lipstick are you wearing so it doesnt transfer?
@@biancamiron4050 just use the one you use then put a little powder over it but be fast and very careful and then use your finger and put another small layer over it just so the color is vibrant again that's what I always do and i helped me
I too wear bright red lipstick under the mask to feel better
In my experience Maybelline superstay, pioneer, looks fantastic.
Only downside being how hard it is to remove. I had to Google and found out that a thick layer of Vaseline on top, leaving it for a few minutes, will make you able to remove the lipstick in the evening.

Beautiful! When I was a teacher for 30 yrs, I would dress up most days- pencil skirts, dresses, cute jackets etc, to lift my mood and make me feel beautiful. I’m retired, and I do miss dressing up, so once a week I dress up and grocery shop with full makeup and pretty lipstick. My favorite red is from Lisa Eldridge.
I adore red lipstick. I remember the first time I wore it out and I ate alone at a restaurant and I felt so bold and got lots of compliments. It’s so chic and powerful. Only thing I don’t like is having to reapply and how it wears off, but I don’t care. It’s fun and powerful

Exactly my thoughts. I forget wearing lipstick a lot and I still wear them but then I get lip stains on my mask 😓

Everyone needs a friend who shows them how to wear a red lip. My college friend - a dancer from NYC - chose my first red and I remember how amazing it made me feel to wear. It was called Carnation, by Cover Girl. Best red I ever owned. ❤️

Nop because she is hiding something : wrinkles , scars , birth marks underneath the bangs ,I’ve watched her for while , she never lift the bangs and she is so careful constantly about it , it’s not just a matter of not disturbing the hair .

I don't put my hair up often because I like it down, doesn't mean I'm hiding elf ears.

I absolutely love red lips. Whenever I'm feeling ugh, I throw some mascara on and a red lip and it instantly makes me feel more va-va-voom.

I think red is perfect in the middle of winter with all the cold and dreariness. Really brings back some life. Yes, you are so right: reds and darker colors make your lips look smaller. I totally agree, I am not a huge makeup girl, but a quick application of red lipgloss changes the look in an instance after work. Paired this up with stiletto's, I am ready for girls night out.
Loved how informal and chatty this video felt, sometimes your videos are so quick they almost feel unobtainable (I know I definitely can't apply my makeup so fast all the time), but this felt a bit more realistic. Looking forward to the new videos you mentioned! xx

Thanks beautiful lady. I love red lippy, my mum always said that red lipstick made you look older so avoided it for years! I have naturally very dark hair, almost black, I'm blonde now and I suit red lippy better with my blonde hair than I did a brunette. I suited more brick or muted reds before but now I love bright pinks and corals too 😘❤️💜💙

I loved this video and the technique of keeping your mouth closed when you apply makes so much sense! I have a hard time applying bold lipstick because my skin and lips are naturally very pale - it’s actually difficult for me to see where the edges of my lips are! But practice makes perfect. And a lip pencil helps ;) Thank you for sharing your beautiful personality and tips with us, Violette!

I have watched so many videos and read so many articles on finding the right red without success. Maybe it’s what I remember someone calling a ‘brain problem’ - not used to it so it seems jarring or wrong on me - but I have always had a certain envy toward women who really rock it. One of my grandmothers wore it almost every day.

You are so lucky to be able to wear lipstick and have it look good. I truely believe red lipstick looks horrible on me. I have wasted so many lipsticks and money buying different shades and it doesn’t work. However I have found I look better accentuating my eyes and wearing a swipe of lip gloss works well for me.

It’s one of the things I miss the most.
I used to wear a bold lipstick as daily look at work. It has always made me feel confident and I find it to be also very boss lady like.
Unfortunately with masks it’s impossible.
