I have ruby woo, and I hate it, actually! I really wanted to like it, but it really didn't work for me. I am really pale and have dry skin. It dried out my lips so badly, even paired with all types of scrubs and balms. It went on so dry and was so messy. It bled badly, and made the lines in my lips very prominent.

My favorite for truly red lips is 01 Cream lip stain from Sephora. It stays forever on your lips without drying them out. If you haven't tried it I recommend you to have a look next they you stop by Sephora 😜

I want that one so bad! My step mom bought it bc I recommend it to her and I was secretly jealous that she could afford it and I could not atm. The worst thing is she didn't even love it which is crazy bc it's gorgeous on her and everyone really.
I don't like it at all, it wears off super fast on me :( there are some decent matts from Maybelline that stay way longer through the dinner
@@Maryam999_ I love the maybelline creamy mattes. Siren in Scarlet and Rich Ruby are beautiful and long lasting. I haven't tried the matte ink liquid ones though.

Have you tried the Bite Beauty line? They're very moisturising and pigmented, i recommend the shade gazpacho :)

I normally will wear a Laneige two toned lipstick.. it’s the shade “Milk Blurring” and it’s somewhat like a toned down red with some coral-y tone to it as well. The color for me could be blended, and I sometimes wear it as a full lipstick since the color is gorgeous!

Oh my gosh - Dior “999”! I also love Too Faced “9021oohh”, Urban Decay “Bad Blood” and my newest favorite, Jane Iredale “Hot” (that one is a chunky lip crayon).

My favourite red lipsticks are from Cle de Peau. Many are from the now-discontinued Extra-Rich collections: R1 Black Baccara, R2 Red Abundance, and 311 Vivid Red. I love the demi-matte finish, the weightless texture, the extraordinary richness of the pigment, how smoothly it applies, and how evenly it wears. I've ordered a few reds from the new Lipstick Cashmere range, which I think is meant to be an updated version of the old Extra-Rich formula - fingers cross they live up to the discontinued shades. Also love Ellis Faas' Ellis Red in the creamy L101 texture. Those two brands make my go-to opaque red lipsticks.

I own 7 or 8 red lipsticks. While I love them on others, I don't think they suit me very well. But I need to buy a new sheer red lipstick because I really enjoyed wearing one from Sephora several years ago. I would love to see a video on "one month of red lipsticks", wearing a different color each day💄❤️❤️❤️

I think red looks amazing on almost everyone - with redness, it's more difficult to wear.
I thought you could do a "lip swatch only video" but I understand that's not the concept of your channel. Maybe an arm swatch video, then ? With OOTDs, it could be nice.

Maybe you can try wearing them like a stain! I have a few lipsticks I actually don't like, but when I sheer them out myself with some lip balm, I can make them work.

Which would you say is the most natural-looking and long-lasting? I’m planning ahead for my wedding makeup :)
Wow congratulations! Oh gosh that's a tough question.. Most of these reds are pretty striking but the most natural are probably the more sheer shades from Lipstick Queen, Fresh or Chanel. But you can always pick a bold colour and just apply it as a stain! Perhaps Chanel Pirate or Charlotte Tilbury Red Carpet Red are the most universally flattering. Actually Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl or Walk of Shame would be stunning! They're more of a muted red so I forgot to include them in this 😩 but they're two of my absolute favourites. Miranda Kerr wore Walk of Shame on her wedding day! x

Such a beautiful channel, it is a joy to watch. I am 60 and don't wear bright reds any longer, but my favorite was Estee Lauder's Antique Brick, which was discontinued long ago. Love remembering those days!

Revlon 725 Love That Red is really nice. I think it’s discontinued, but it suits me so well. It’s a bright red with a smooth formula.

Oh my lord I had to pause and laugh quite a bit when I saw the Kosås lipstick. I’m guessing the creators of the brand didn’t look into what that name could mean in other languages but yeah... Ko means cow and Sås means sauce in Swedish so... Cowsauce 😂 A beautiful lipstick but I hope for their own sake that they’re not planning on expanding their business to Sweden hahaha

Sometimes brand names are unfortunate. Bite Beauty is another great exemple because in French, "bite" means dick, cock 😂 That's why Bite Beauty is not sold in France, sadly.

I used to wear a sheer bright red from Lancôme. As a nurse I didn’t want to look overdone, but did want to look pretty & healthy. It was the perfect color for my light skin, blonde hair & hazel eyes. They discontinued it & I was heart broken! I now have discovered that if I wear a balm (like balm dot com) and then a darker color, (like a Chanel red-La Romanesque currently) it gives the sheer color I love. It’s an easier way to wear red. And it never dries out my lips.

Great video. I've got the Chanel rouge allure in Entusiasta and I find it really comfortable. I love it. I've also got the Dior 999 but in the rouge Dior liquid. Other faves are Mac Lady Danger, Lancôme rouge in love Satins d'amour, Elizabeth Arden Red Power, Nars Audacious Annabella and I LOVE the Clinique lipsticks. I've got Poppy Pop, Ruby Pop and Capri Pop but have my eye on others. Priceline/chemist faves are the Bourjois Vienne si tu roses, it's redding men and fu(n)chsia, and of course, anything Revlon. Always looking at red lipsticks it's like a disease, isn't it?

My filming set up is quite unconventional (I have to sit on the floor to do it haha) but I'm planning to find a way to hook my camera up to my laptop so I can see what I'm capturing! Matilda I don't know what camera you have, but with my canon you connect it using a cord that came with, but I know the newer model of my camera uses wifi :)) maybe yours is the same?
I wish it was that easy Zakiya, unfortunately my Olympus doesn't connect like that.. but I'll see if I can find a workaround some way! x

Teeez Cosmetics Romantic Red is probably one of my favorite lipsticks ever. The formula is creamy and moisturizing - and smells great! - and the shade is a deep red (with almost pink undertones) that contrasts perfectly with any little black dress.

I love MAC Russian Red. I bought it because it's the exact shade of Red Andy Sach's character wears in Paris on the Devil Wears Prada and it is perfect for my cool undertones. It is also super light on my lips.

I definetly bought red carpet red bc of this video! I thought if Matilda on video recommends it it must be good and I was right! it barely budges too! which is great for me bc I have a tendency to rub and bite my lips. I recently bought a dark red liquid lipstick from a Spanish brand called etnia and I love it too!!
I used to be afraid of wearing bold lip colours like red until I tried Chanel’s rouge velvet allure No 5. I apply a lip tint first and then the No 5 on the inner parts of lip to create a nice gradient that is wearable for an everyday look.

I am such a sucker for Charlotte tilbury matte revolution lipsticks - walk of shame is a perfect subtle terracotta red. It was sold out over Christmas last year so as soon as it came back into stock I bought 4!! Absolutely love it.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in La Fascinante was my first high end lipstick purchase. I originally purchased a nude from them to only take it back for a red. The sales women at the counter recommended this one to me. It remains my favorite lipstick of all time. Surprisingly I wear it more than anything else and I’ve never found anything else quite like it.

I love L'Oreal Jennifer's Red, Sephora Lip Stain in Always Red, Colourpop's Lippie Stix in Goldie (and Lullaby, which is more of an orange), and Lisa Eldridge's True Velvet in Velvet Morning.💋💋💋

totally agree with comments below- there is basically no limit to red lipsticks! I did a quick count and have at least 7, not counting the really deep or browny ones...eeekk.... But I did note some fav's you did not mention and I think you will LOVE...they are: Dior "Rouge Favori" #752, Chanel "Passion" #14 (you may have this one in video) Clinique #12- "Red-y to wear"- a classic fire engine red, and 2 MAC reds "So Good" and "love maker" (#207)- Enjoy! as only a true red lipstick lover can...

I like my true/or blue reds best and I love the Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm in Standout for a really pigmented long-wearing blue-red. But as I work at The Body Shop, every now and then I'll apply one of our ColourCrush matte lipstick bullets and I am always amazed at how long-wearing they are. So underrated, even we forget about them! I'll put on the shade New Orleans Scarlet and it'll wear well through eating lunch and drinking coffee, and when I've eaten an apple or something I've only had to touch up a little bit, and that's after hours of wear :)

i love your videos, they're so succinct and interesting! i was wondering, would you ever do a video on unisex makeup? sometimes i want to do makeup but shy away from looking too 'girly' or done up - products that work for anyone or can create an 'androgynous' look would be really interesting to see!

I have a big collection but always wear minimal makeup that's never girly or done up, so I probably wear androgynous looks a lot without realising it 👌🏼 I'm not sure if it would work well in a video because I don't appear on camera to do a tutorial, but I'd say the elements are definitely bold brows and healthy cream blush! I'm doing a 'five minute face' video next month which might give you a bit of an idea actually x

With each and every swatch I found my self repeatedly saying “oooh my gosh that’s gorgeous!” or “oh my gosh yesss that’s stunning I need that” 😂 they’re all red so someone who’s not as makeup obsessed trained would say they’re the same but oh boy they are all beautifully different! I just picked up Mysterious Red from NARS. I love it! I think it makes me look confident and sexy, but I think all red lipsticks could do that ;) I also have Sephora's Always Red (01), but it's a bit too bright for me...

Valentine's day is not a load of rubbish!!! All the chocolate goes on 50% or more off sale for the entire next week. I love valentine's day just for that alone. And you can basically get reservations anytime at almost anywhere for the 3 days following. The week following valentine's day is reason enough to appreciate the hallmark holiday.
Nars velvet matte lip pencil in cruella and bobbi brown crushed lip colour in ruby are my fave reds for those rare days I will wear red a complete nude lip lover. CT's matte revolution in bond girl is another one I adore.
Bond Girl is my favourite CT lipstick! 👏 A pretty muted shade so I guess I don't consider it a real red in my mind. It will definitely feature in videos in future though! x
I have only 2 Red Lipsticks right now but i really love the ones i have. The first one i got was the Kat von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Adora and the second one is the Milk Makeup Lipstick in O.G. Red.

The balmy shades remind me of Korres Lip Butter Stick in Rose. That’s my go to if I want so colour but low maintenance! Also loving the Carina shade by CT! I enjoy wearing Kristen by Kylie. It’s matte so it doesn’t budge and is an ‘easy’ red to wear if you’re a bit scared like I am. It’s red enough to be called a red but not too bright that you feel self conscious!

Ever since I started wearing makeup, i have always chose red for some reason. I find that it looks good on me and i look put together even though the rest of my face is bare. I went through a phase this year where I wanted to try plum coloured lipsticks but I could never find the one that I really like. So i went back and bought Fresh Coral lip balm which was not too red and had enough sheer to wear for an everyday work look, and it all just snowballed from there. I now own 4 red lipsticks but all has a different shade to them. I am keen on trying Chanel lipstick someday. :)

My favorite shades of red are all of them! Least favorite being the shades that come off pink on my lips even though they are clearly red in the tube but I still wear them occasionally. I shouldn't watch these videos. I already own over 20 red lipsticks. I can't afford any of these rn so I think I'll be okay. Kosas lipstick in Electra is definitely on my wishlist though. Not a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow but I've fallen in love with the Kosas brand though IG. Phoenix is also beautiful, a warmer red but it's limited edition sadly.
