The Erebus reminds me a bit of some of the crazy sounds in 70's tv shows like Land of The Lost
It does some subtlety nicely like something that would play when the sleestack came along.

...great synth! i got one and i love it! it is solid build and sounds fantastic... the patching section and the echo/delay gives you many possibilities to form and tweak the sounds...rocks!

Scott Wozniak I have one. It doesn't track well past a few octaves, but sounds really good otherwise. It's a keeper as long as you don't expect to use a wide range of notes at any one time.

I'm really hoping this is going to be Dreadbox's start into budget gear.
If this thing is under $400, I will likely buy it.
$325 or under and this is the Microbrute killer (and the Microbrute is my favorite budget synth).
I don't know how much production of these costs, nor am I a marketing expert; but I would recommend you guys do yourselves a favor and start kicking the Microbrute and the Korg synths out of the budget market.

I was weighing this up against a bass station 2 and have to say that although this little beauty lacks alot of the functionality of the bass station, the filters sweeps on this sound much more cleaner and more warmer and squelchy than then bass station which is a little harsh for my taste. This is probably due to the fact that the bass station has digitally controlled oscillators as opposed to the 100% analogue erebus.Besides all you have to do is hook this up to something like a beatstep, and your away!I'm sold:)

well if you produce a lot and want fast access or scroll through presets you created the BS2 has a big advantage-convenience with saving presets in the first place, has a keyboard, has a sequencer all in one device. You switch it on -ready to go. Yes i agree that this here sounds a bit smoother and nicer but for me having to carry erebus+sequencer, setting it up every time etc makes for things to consider. Of course if you only use it at home it doesn`t matter at all. But the BS2 can do some awesome stuff too. If this one here had the functionality of the BS2 it would cost 1500 euros in a keyboard version

Great sounds. How is the note > Osc 1 or 2 allocation decided? Looks like the lower note is always Osc 1; do you have to be careful which of the two notes you play first, or is a single note always Osc 1 (or 2)?
I love the fact that it has separate glides.

Can you make a Synth that has like 30 different filters? I notice that if anyone can ever tell 3 very different presets/patches are from the same synth, its because the filter is what's giving it away, Its the most limiting aspect of a synth's sound is its filter characteristics, everything else doesn't limit a synth to any particular sound, its really just the filter. we need a Knob that controls dB instead of a toggle between 12 and 24, and like some sort of knob that changes the Charactoristics of a filter that has nothing to do with cutoff, Q and gain. if there could be such a thing thought of. because there is no other known parameter but cut Q and gain right? the rest are just quirks. maybe someone can make an analog filter that has more capacitors in it that it needs to function, and 6-way switch toggles between 6 different kinds and brands of capacitors, or something.

A lot of synths do better with some type of effects applied to it. the Juno 60/106 is a hugely popular synth but mostly because people rely on the chorus that is included with it to get that "Juno" sound. I find I'm in the same situation with the Bass Station II. It sounds good on its own but a lot of the time I need to pass it through an external reverb or tape delay to get everything sounding just right. You certainly need a good core sound as a base to work with, which I feel the Erebus has.
