- The winter of 2018/19 delivered two of the biggest swells to ever hit the South Bay. The footage you see here was shot between December 2018 and January 2019.
Every single frame of video you see in this movie was actually captured simultaneously with my stills camera shooting from the same tripod - and the stills camera always had priority - so there's some jerky movements here and there; but I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed learning to slap all the footage together and cut mercilessly to keep it under 10 minutes.
If you're not a Rush fan, mute the audio and play your fave music as soundtrack.

Awesome video Lucio! Lately its been easy to forget how BIG El Porto can be. Great Surfers too!
The only issue is that most of the waves look so tempting and perfect, but they just closeout and smash anything inside it. I find it hard to find the right spots to catch the wave at Porto and knowing which ones are worth catching. I’m not used to Porto
porto is like the fools gold of waves. looks so real and tempting the shape coming in looks promising. the peak is a-framing you drop in excited and get clamped down 9.999999 times out of 10.. lol
wolf yeah. For a 3-5-6 foot wave, the drops are so steep and the waves in general can get so punishing. It’s only fun in the morning, and even then, the most tempting waves suck unless you catch them at the ends where you don’t get smashed on the inside

@@brennan2553 depends on swell direction i go to a lot fo different places depending on time of year. for winter bolsa chica can be fun at times. county line. c street ventura. rincon is too packed otherwise amazing wave.
