- Shows everything from how to select the correct lee bullet feeder for the bullet you use as well as assembly and setup of the bullet feeder on the lee pro 1000 press
I started reloading with a Lee Loader kit then stepped up to a Pro 1000, I haven"t reloaded in 14 years, so I sent Lee a parts list for my Pro 1000. They sent me the parts for FREE!!!
They were small parts but none the less what other company will do that!! Thanks Lee
Just wanted to express my thanks. You're videos are awesome...well spoken, great lighting, clear direction....perfect all around. Thanks again!
I have a bullet feeder and have not been able to install it correctly. This how to video provides me with everything I need. Thank you very mucb
Even 10 years old, this video helped me get my bullet feeder setup and running. I have one of the newer Lee Pro 1000 presses and I purchased the bullet feeder for .45 Auto. I've had to make quite a few discoveries of my own, due to Lee Precision's really bad manuals and other documentation. I finally got the press fully automated and I've figured out that (not because of the difficulty, but because of the time consumption) it might be worth buying a complete second press to setup and avoid having to change everything over for reloading 300 Blackout. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the vid. Been on the fence about it with how many people have said its garbage, my suspicions are that they didn't set it up correctly. Thanks!
Very detailed man. Making use of this 9 years from when you made it!
I don't know if this was pointed out already but the part you keep calling a shell plate is actually called the shell plate carrier. The shell plate is the part with the slots for the shells. Good video, thanks for helping out with this.
Good info is timeless, great demo and explanation of how to install and run the Lee bullet feeder.
I bought and installed a feeder last week for a 40 s&w. I bought the one for the longer bullets, but I'm using the shorter bullets. I just used some double face tape and a shim on the die opening bottom and it works great (I might want to use a longer bullet sometime).
Nice video. I can help but think though, dont you have to reset up your depth and crimp after installing the bullet feeder? I would think the thickness of the mount would require a die reset.
Great video. Thank you. I appreciate the zoom in on the shellplate carrier and identification of the hole required. I had read about this on Midway USA and on LEE Precision websites but without pictures I wasn't sure which one they were identifying. I wanted to identify this prior to ordering. Thanks again.
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing . Excellent explanation . You made it look easy.
Bloody awesome video thanks mate, hugely informative, you covered everything, and it worked like a champion!!!!!! Now I gotta go and get me a couple of these buggers for my press. Thanks again bro, and happy shooting
Awesome videos learning heaps thanks for your time and effort 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
very nice video, thanks a lot from France for this tutorial.
i'll order this Lee bullet feeder now ;)
to be continued
Fab Gucci Beat you can own a gun in France?
Hey, awesome job on all your videos ! I was wandering when u were going to show , how to set up and run 5.56 on lee pro 1000 ,thanks Dave
Very helpful. I found that the directions were a little hard to follow, so watching this video made the installation and setup a breeze. I can't thank you enough. Now somebody needs to give me a trick or explanation about getting the case feeder to feed more than four or five cases w/o feeding cases improperly. Great Job of this video! -:-}>
+Kevin ODay Hi Kevin, I had the same problem when reloading .357 cases. Reading several forum discussions I found out that I installed the guiding rod in the wrong hole. Since I moved the rod in the other position, in the hole closest to the case (which I totally ignored) it has been working so fast that sometimes I run out of primers...
Your good at this, your easy to understand and very detailed! I have a few questions about the bullet feeder. Is it really worth it? Do you have much trouble with it? Don't you have to readjust the die after mounting the bullet feeder under it?
Also, on another video of yours you have the Frankford Arsenal Quick-N-EZ case cleaner. Are you happy with it? I picked one up and ran some brass for an hour, some of the cases with powder stains did not come clean so I ran it again for another 2 hours with little or no improvement! I did not use the Brass Polish, do you think that will help? Thanks for your help. Karl
THANKS for your time!
VERY helpful!
Great video.
I see you have a bullet counter added right below (in front) of your press. Which one and how did you install it? Thanks.
Hi There,
Great video!!!!
I recently purchased a Lee Pro1000 and a Bullet Feeder, followed your instructions on the installation. Question I have is - Did you have to set your 2 presiding dies lower? Only reason I ask is that I’m the down stroke (shell plate up) The “fingers” on the bullet feeder
Sorry...
The fingers get smashed by the shell plate before my 2 other dies get full depth....
btw great instructional and informational video
The one thing i really do not like about the pro 1000 is how compact it is, evertything is right up to everything else making it a pain to adjust.
Just added the bullet feeder but have yet to get it running properly. My current bullet has a concave base and just will not feed without tipping or it slips out of the fingers.
What that spring you have connected to the powder. And where did you get the primer tray from? I bought the pro 1000 and it came with those junk flip tray that I can’t stand
Good explanation!
Would this contraption fit and work on a Hornady AP?
Very nice please tell me how did you buy please tell me i bought this thanks I wait your reply
Hi, great vid, how do you change the buffer to another hole, the instructions recommend using the inside hole for my press. I have the same press as you but you use the buffer in the outside hole,
Cheers
great video thank you
Maybe you can help me. I spent about 1 1/2 hours trying to get the bullet feeder set up on my press. Same press, 9MM. I followed the instructions that came with it, and actually watched your video in the process. Everything seemed to work well, but after about 3 cycles, the fingers won't return to the die all the way to pick up another bullet. It's like the buffer is slipping on the actuator rod. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Just got the 9mm bullet feeder and when the bullet drops it stays ontop of the fingers instead of falling through like in the video . Are the fingers supposed to spread open when they are under the bullet die. Or did lee send me the wrong set up. The hole in the fingers is the size of a 223 round roughly for a visual .
Where did you get that spring that holds the feeder down. Mine doesnt have that
how do you set up the die after installing the bullet feeder?
hello, I noticed you have a counter at the bottom, what counter is that? and how did you set it up? Thanks!
Thanks,I am just starting out and I picked up this press that is already set to do 357. Can you tell me what spring you replaced chain with. Ty
I know this video is old but I hope you see this comment and can give some insight. I recently bought a lee pro 1000 and decided to decap/prime on another single stage press. On my Pro 1000 I have the powder drop die in station 1, the bullet seat die in station 2, and a FCD in station 3. I have been looking at attempting to add a bullet feeder, but am looking to see if it is possible to move the bullet feeder over one slot (to where the powder drop is on yours) and still function as designed. Without the priming system on mine, the entire back is wide open, so I assume without seeing one up close that the issue might be lining up with that part on the back of the plate holder.
due to the design it can only be placed in the 3rd station.
Where did u get that handle?
question. when you install the bullet feeder, wouldn't you have to re calibrate the last die on the top section? The little ring would probably offset the pre calibrated die
Yes my die was perviously set for the press with the feeder on it
What type of powder do you recommend?
Hi,
i see that you're using a spring instead of the auto-disk powder measure chain.
Is it this part of lee's catalogue : SKU: AD2296 ?
Thanks and nice work!
No Just a 39 cent spring from the hardware store See my lee pro 1000 tips and tricks video I cover it there
NodaSheep wow!
responded in 30 minutes!
cool job for the tips and tricks.
Thanks again!
Are these 3 hole or 4 hole presses
I'm reloading 9mm luger,I want to buy a Lee bullet feeder but am not sure which one. Bullet is 115grain,OAL 0.543" (13.8mm)
which bullet feeder kit did you use for the .38 special ? I'm not seeing that bullet size on the Lee website.
thank you
depends on the bullet length your using.
The problem I've been having is that when the finger picks up the bullet and it's about to go over the case the bullet drops and I don't understand why it's like the fingers are not strong enough to hold on to it or maybe the fingers are moving too quickly I tried slowing down and I've tried going a little bit faster does anybody have any suggestions
Not shell plate.
Do they make this bullet feeder for 223? I use 55gr Hornady fmj.
nope you have to hand set the 223
Thanks....
Why no vids ?
hyväione
Who told you that’s how to run the bullet feeder. There’s a guy on another channel that does it totally different, and they pass the plunk test always
Lee Breech Lock Pro using Hornady Bullet Feeding die. His press looks more different than yours. Sure convinced me
Where did you get that primer system I have the one that came with the Lee 4000 that you have to push a primer into the casing every time a casing comes around
