The original is not funky tho. It's pretty much a standard pop tune with an "homage" to an overused funk melody.

the craziest thing to me about scary pockets is these insanely talented vocalist... who are then somehow overshadowed at times by the incredible instrumentals, production and mixing. like her voice is INSANE, but i can't stop watching/listening to the drums/bass (in particular, but really it's just all of them).

I came across Julia Nunes on RUclips many years ago, a beautiful voice singing great songs to a single camera oh her bedroom, playing a ukulele with lots of charisma. Always thought she was great and I was't wrong. It's so nice to see the astonishing improvement she had. What a powerful voice! Great band performance, awesome arrangement, perfect match for Julia's super smooth vocals. Amazing!

I just watched the video without audio (headphones weren't connecting etc...) and must say, I think we are very forgiving of the wobbly camera, it's really noticeable and painful and disorientating when there's no audio accompaniment for the mind to concentrate on :P
