such a cool project. Simple and elegant. I always appreciate how you include other skill sets (leather, electricity, etc) into your woodworking. You integrate the different media so well. Keep 'em coming!
I really like the look of these Lynn ! Great project.
Linn, I really liked how you assembled the boxes lining them up with the blue masking take - WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA! lovely project!
love watching your creativity with all your projects--this is about the fourth video I've watched. Great to see another woman at work :)
Linn, I really like the look of this fixture. I was also thinking that if you wanted to have items that collect dust, you could put on smoked glass or acrylic doors to bring down the light level and still give you that wonderful shadow box look.
Beautiful
looks great and the paper idea works very well to soften the light....
As always Lin wonderful workmanship, love the way you use LED's always creative and practical. Personally I would prefer them as individual shelf as opposed to them on the board but that is a personal choice, keep up the good work Lin, always looking forward to your next video. From the republic of Ireland.
Love this book! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxpCNxqmAkyjN6NPx1fyB7QiEFWyO5mUWL it is simply one-of-a-kind! I really love it, because karah explained all tools required to have the job done, not mentioning the fabulous diy pallets ideas. I'm pretty sure this will be a fresh start in my new endeavour. Amazon was great, they delivered on time. Thank you!
Darbin this is a very cool project. I really like the idea of attaching the individual boxes to a larger backing board.
I can see the JOY in your smiles the moment you turned your creation on.
Another great idea! Love the boxes on top of the board so the light wires are all hidden! Thanks for sharing this!
Really nice. I love your videos because you combine wood working with so many other skills. Electrical, leather, fabric, and others. Keep posting please!
Very elegant Linn! Love it.
Very cool and useful project. I was gonna ask about any heat generated by the led lights, but you cleared it up. Reason I asked was to put an additional groove for a colored acrylic or glass sheet and possibly add a shadow land scape to it.
Nice project. I like the idea of attaching them to one panel. Makes it all much neater.
Great video Linn,as always.i like the way that you have an easy way of using your hand tools.
Thanks for sharing
Great Job Linn! I really like the contrast of the boxes on the white backboard. I think I would have hooked up to a remote so I could dim them.
Ms. Linn, you are a rockstar! Im already in my planning phase for your design. Thank you so much.
Linn, I have just discovered your channel (via Jimmy) and love it! Another great resource for ideas and cool projects, thanks...
Beautiful job as usual. You always come up with different and great ideas. Your video approach and quality is really very nice, too.
These shelves look amazing, great project.
I so want your workshop. Awesome! Love the boxes. Thank you for sharing 🌸🌺❤️
The shelves look fantastic! ♥ I love to do illuminated projects myself and do really admire people who can solder properly :) Most of the times I end up connecting my wires with hot glue or electrical tape :)))) Maybe you could do a tutorial on soldering since you are so good at it?..
coolest project i've ever seen on this channel...i really miss and appreciate a skilled person as you in India.....Good Luck and Keep it Up
Very cool, Linn. I love those LED projects you do. It's amazing what some lights and some wood can turn into. Well done as usual. And a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Thanks so much for a great year of.vids. May next year be another good one for you. Troy
Wow! Those are very nice shelves! You did a great job!
at 4:59 brings back memories seeing you seal the heat shrink with a lighter. I am a Marine and worked on helicopters where we used same heat shrink material after fixing wiring issues except we were SUPPOSED to use a hot air gun to do the shrinking which required much more time in bringing out a generator all the way out to the flight line, big pain in the butt. So instead, everyone carried a BIC lighter, even the non-smokers. They were a tool commonly referred to as a "B1C" or a "Bravo One Charlie".
They came out beautiful!
Love it! They way you hide the cables is excellent! Congratz!
Merry Christmas Linn!
You are a very creative person. Thank you so much for sharing your creations.
Very neat concept. Addressing the amount (brightness) of light maybe if the bottom row was left off so you just had the top and 2 sides.
I love this project! I also love the variety of your projects.
Great looking boxes, something you could do to mix up the lighting would be to put different colored paper over the lights to change the lighting in each box. Or even have multiple different colors in each box
Cool project! I know soft maple burns easy, but the blade might need cleaning or replacing. A burned joint does not glue as well either.
Great display cases. The led lights really make this one work.
I love the look of these boxes! fantastic job!
The way you made the box is excellent.
Darbin you are very creative and talented. Your videos are really well scripted. Always a treat to see you in action! From So California
Very nice and the color temperature is just kindly warm to relax you after a hard working day :)
Very cool Linn! One option that I did with some arcade marquee lightboxes was to inset the back panel by 1/2" or 3/4" and run a french cleat across the top of the back panel to hang them on the wall (assuming they were wide enough to cross two studs). If you were okay with the boxes touching a bit you could still hide the wires, though I suppose you could also use small lengths of the fairy lights to connect the boxes. Hiding the wire to the DC adapter/outlet is still annoying unfortunately.
Since I do a lot of commercial retail spaces, where LEDs are used quite often. I've made it a habit of using all the different varieties of aluminum extrusion tracks for LEDs. Some have covers, some angle the light or shield the light. I always include those into the build... but when I just need a small piece to show the client what I had in mind, I get 1 meter strips off of ebay. The nice thing about them, is that they act as heat sinks, and prolong the lifespan of the LEDs and I can tell the clients that there won't be a fire hazard when they are applied to the aluminum extrusions. No client says no to them after that.
But for your shadow box build, I would have made it so the lights are way more recessed. So you don't see the strip of light, but it makes the back of the board light up evenly. Just recently did a build like this to showcase luxury purses in display window.
Heeey, this is awesome idea! I planned something like glass vitrine for miniatures. Combination of wooden frame and glass sides, but this is much more better. Just imagine your box sides with glass front side and some shelves inside. Beautiful!
Thank you, Linn :)
Really nice work
Enjoy watching your creativity at work I love LED Lighting it just brings everything to a different level
nice job Lynn, very elegant and easy to do!
Great project, my granddaughter loves watching your videos and after watching she jump up saying ( girl power). LOL. She turning 8 and love woodworking. Love your projects.
Enjoyed the lighting. You might also check out dimmer switches. I use them in my projects with good effect.
What a beautiful project! You are a really neat person! I'm glad you are in the world.
it's a wonderful project. I was trying to find something like this. I really like it.i hopes you will come back with new ideas. Good luck !!
I've been designing a shadow box display for prayer beads and I've been struggling with the lighting. Your box lighting is exactly how I want to go. I'll use a rheostat to control the brightness. Thanks for sharing.
You’re so handy in the garage and changing outfits in style. Great video.
Great build. Screw from the back to hide the screws in the box. Route a groove on the rear for the power cable and maybe use a more elegant switch. Love the idea and am going to make some as display boxes for my kids projects. Thanks for the inspiration. Oh, maybe use the multi coloured remote controlled led strips for more colours and effects, or maybe coloured plexiglass. Cheers Linn
Very nice! The rice paper really softened the light. BTW - love that your K1000 gets pride of place 🙂
Very nicely done, I agree about covering the LED strip with paper, they can be bright without.
When I grow up I want to be like you!!! What a smart young lady you are, wow! My respects. Greetings from Cancun, the Mexican Caribbean.
Marry Christmas & HAPPY NEW YEAR
Looks great and liking the new intro
nice project, you could have also used an RGB strip light with remote control to change to any theme light background for them plus lower the intensity of the brightness so you wont need to add the paper strips....plus with the small remote you wouldn't need to wire a switch since the remote would turn it off and on or do any color or brightness or even effects.
im a professionel kitchen designer and maker from algeria ..
you are great and i love your work
your taste and your touchs are gorgeous ..
respect.
I just watched several of your videos and I had to subscribe!!! Incredible talent!!! Beautiful work!!!!
Hiya, a Happy Christmas and New Year to you and yours. I'm looking forward to a lot more from you in 2017, take care...
I love this.. Considering using this to create something like a sound insular or for studio when I set up..
This is very simple work, nothing special....but the special is your way of working, you have so many tools, instruments & you have done very systematically....very nice
Thank you for your creative work. You seem kind as well. Keep it up
Nice work Linn!
Love these!!!! Thank you for sharing your efforts and skills!!!
I like the fresh projects you come up with.
I've never actually seen this technique before, very creative :). I tend to use a metal for my bracket for strength but like this! 4:51
great project! looks great !
i love your idea.
for everyone complaining saying the screws are showing in the front or the white board is to plain....
its a DIY!
this is the way she likes it for herself but you can always add your own twist to it.
I loved that you used the 45 degree angle on the boxes
Wow, it will also work as a night lamp. Even can be used for creative product photography.
You're awesome!!!! That was an awesome project I wish I was capable of creating such master pieces.
Very nice Linn.
awesome...love your designs and add one more name in your friends list...keep making videos of your crafts
Liked the look of this project. Slight change I might make would be to be to put some of the light at the front of the box to front-light the displayed object.
I am a die hard fan of your creative DIY...Keep it up!! :)
thanks for providing nice work sharing this with us to prepare, good job
Cool idea & endless variations one could do. I think installing the screws from the back board would be nice as it would hide the fasteners, just need to make sure you don't over penetrate.
Adding a spacer board behind the main white board and attaching leds to that so it had a back glow I think would have been pretty cool but more complicated. It is a great project though turned out really well!
Very nice, thinking about how to do this as an indoor herb garden or infinity mirror with space for items on display.
Loved the build :)
One upgrade can be to add a variable resistor to adjust brightness, that can be put right next to on/off switch.
That won't work, a PWM dimmer must be used.
Wish i had all those tools! Looks great, good job.
Very nice Darbin!
Trevligt projekt! God Jul Linn!
It's very beautiful concept Dorbian
I absolutely looooove this, I'm definitely going to try this
Looks great! Nice job
you are extremely talented Darbin..Kudos!!
Very nice professional look
superb darbin orvar
This video is amazing because in this video you have shown your ability or power than your creativity. I don't know why I felt like this when others are comment on the content. It may be because I'm an Indian and I haven't seen any video which is led by a women. Lots of appreciation.🙏🏻🙏🏻
awesome project! I'll try to do something similar, thank You for such inspiration!
Stunningly beautiful!
Keep it up!
Very nice. Looks great.
Nice project, good work!
Great job,Beautiful design and also U.......
Oh that looks nice, Linn :D Warm white LEDs! Big Clive would approve :P
Looks great. Maybe a dimmer switch then you can control the brightness as the situation changes? Thank you for sharing.
Hi, I love this project! You inspire ladies w/ tools 😊. Do you recommend a LED electrical primer or videos for learning basic LED installations? Soldering, switches, etc.
