That solo dance was adorable..Such fun.
Oh I love charlie brown why was he writing on the wall why was he pooping in the hall
The way the bigger lad started dancing cracked me up 😅
The way he says “why is everybody always picking on me?” Is hilarious. This song is one of the best and funniest songs I’ve ever heard
The Coasters were a fun band - great Sax player!
King Curtis master of R&R Sessions
True Classic for sure 😄
Charlie Brown was used as the class clown who stayed in to trouble making everyone laugh love this song
I remember this song from my childhood in the 60s. We had it on a 45 memories 😊😊😊😊
So well dressed and wholesome. So much talent
Those moves! Hot damn! Now, THAT'S dancing'!
His name was Cornell Gunter. King Curtis was on tenor sax. Song by Lieber and Stroller. Back then that style of free dancing was done by girls in "juke joints". Cornell did it as a parody. Guys would mimic female dancers to get noticed by them. Girls would challenge them to a "dance-off". It was all great fun. And a great way to meet a nice girl.
this song never gets old!!
but it is
nope@@MindTiltDuo
YES! 50s, and most 60s, some 70s music too❗All great to listen to❗
Fifties music is still better than today's music!
AMEN 🙏
I completely agree and it's before my time. I was born in 1983
Farting for 5 minutes is better than today's music.
Still, '50's music is one of the best and most creative eras for pop music ever.
Yeah sure whatever
@@phillipabramoff7374 you enjoy farting more than modern music huh, that's kinda weird ngl
FIFTIES MUSIC 🎵🎶 IS INCREDIBLE!
❤for some reason this song was in my head..IN my classroom years ago I KNEW. several.charlie browns
❤they used to pull my braids or ponry tail..one of them even kissed me in the coat room...I slapped him..those Charlie browns...❤
❤thank you 😊
I was five years old when this song came out. I remember this one because at five years old I road around with my dad in one of those old Ford woody stations wagons during the fifties. I am riding with him in the station wagon, my feet not touching the floor while this song was playing on the radio. I remember this one.
:O wow, i was not born yet :(
I had this 45 when it new. I was 7 in 1959.
I remember this song from my kindergarten teacher picking it out for the boys and I to perform and lip sync to it. We brought the house down with this one! Core memory for sure!
That sounds awesome man.
Way to go!
Oh God ! That Guy Dancing @ 1:32 😂😂😂
This got me thinking of peanuts and snoopy 😂
I wanted to like this song as a child but I could never get past how completely they were not singing about any characteristics of Charlie Brown I was familiar with at all. I was quite a pedant for a 5-year-old
Poor Charlie Brown, a dunce cap! There is a politician in my area named Patrick Brown (mayor of Brampton, Canada), so I always joke "Patrick Brown, he's a clown."
I grew up listening to this song along with tons of
mid to late 1950’s songs at my grandparents house ever since I was a toddler. Sadly my grandfather is no longer alive, he passed away back in September unexpectedly to a stoke, but he introduced me to some great catchy timeless tunes. :’)
1:30 That dance though 😁👍
bit zesty
Is he doing The Carlton?
@@ricksorber9562I think he is!
@@abrianpeak95 It's the Charleston. My mom taught it to me.
fred rerun
My 7th grade teacher who was a grandmother used to play this song all the time back in the mid 90s 😆
Poor Charlie brown
Bout wore this one out when driving my '56 chevy hardtop back in 1965. Wow what a time to be alive!!!!!
Fun Fact: at 0:59 when a group of kids say "Yeah, You!", It's not children; But the coasters at half speed! Carl Gardner, Billy Guy, Will "Dub" Jones, & Cornell Gunter recorded that part of the song normally, but played it back at half speed, To make themselves sound younger. Ain't that something!
I thought that was obvious.
Best era of music
Love this song! The video is so fun 😊
Dick Clarke called this era of popular music the finest ever recorded with the 40’s sound close.
There was a short-lived TV show, Gung Ho, which had three or four of the factory managers singing this, along with a few dance steps. It was hilarious!
Awesome song all music is awesome you have to give it a chance or listen to the music you never know you might like it
Why's everybody always pickin' on me?
Cause you got the grooming habits of a chimpanzee
That sax solo
My grandma: play that one song, the song that's like "why's everybody always pickin on me" name after that one show
Me: charlie brown?
My grandma: YES
*I start playing it and she starts dancing all over the place"
Omg is this for real??! She sounds so cuteee 😂
Another great 50s classic from House Rockin' Channel 50s. Bravo!
Though dance moves sealed it
Still good in 2023
Excellent, great talented group.
I didn't think much of this video until about 1:30
Man, THAT's some dancin' !!
Aka flapper
Xavier Spade 😂 True

BRING ME THE HEAD OF CHARLIE BROWN
This video couldn't be any better
That's the way to play a sax, fast and feisty
Lov this song.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Growing up listing to this song I always thought it was about Charlie Brown from the Peanuts.
Me too
it’s not but me three
Me too, but apparently, it had nothing to do with that round-headed kid. LOL!
Me too 😂
It isn’t?
Now that I have seen this video, I’m convinced that is was the worlds first concept album.
Way ahead of its time!
'Why is everybody always picking on me?'
, Indeed
Went to No.2 on The Billboard Charts in early 1959,written and produced by the legendary Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller who are called the Gilbert and Sullivan of Rock and Roll. They wrote "Hound Dog" and Jailhouse Rock" for Elvis Presley and "Ruby Baby" for Dion and many others. The Coasters were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
Another one of their Songs was "Searchin'" that Paul McCartney loved listening to as a Kid. Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller also wrote "Stand By Me" along with Ben E. King that was played at Harry & Megan's Wedding and is now part of Music History.
How are you doing well
I think they wrote hound dog for big mama Thornton first 🤔
You're exactly right, Big Mama Thornton recorded it first
@@volt8ge
Elvis STOLE Hound Dog! That’s Big Mama (Thornton?)’s song!
This is so cool!! I love the video in this, including the dancing.
great vid...!!
Thank you for putting this great video up. Like a real music video. I didn't know that anything like this was made back then.
I mostly remember singers lip-synching to their songs on American Bandstand. Occasionally some rock on Ed Sullivan.
When I was really young, my parents friends used to sing this to me because my name is Charlie. Man I used to get so mad
Smokin’ weed that Charlie Brown
Another Lieber and Stoller contribution to Rock n Roll
We were all singing this happy memories

I remember listening to this song a lot at my aunts house when I was really young. I didn't remember much of it just the "Who's been snooping in the halls" , "Charlie Brown" but a quick google search helped me find this. Very nostalgic and Idk if I like the song as much now but its an interesting memory
1:32 when everyone else’s heart hurts but you didn’t take the dose of Anthony sauce.
So so good
0:49 I remember listening to this record as a kid, convinced they were saying "poopin' in the hall" lol
very cool
Lol I was watching the Temptations medley today, and they performed this song! Iol it was cute and funny but I didn't know that The Coasters were the original composers.
Cool. Never realised there was video to this.
Thanks for the U/L, man x

That would have been cute if Linus and other kids said, "Yeah, you!" Ha! 😄😃😂
@@pernelldhthis isn’t about Charles, sir.
@@1950sCharlieBrown I know. That song has no reference to a beloved Peanuts character.
