Smell is important. Had two cats back in the 1990s, both of whom really liked dogs. If I met a new dog while outside, they just _had_ to sniff my hands. (Purring the entire time - they really, really liked dogs.)
Yes! Do this! My kitto would run as far from the bathroom after using it as she could and then meow until someone scooped. She was healthy and not in any discomfort, she just hated poop smells. She also ran and complained if anyone else went in there. She was very particular about a lot of things.
This is actually amazing! I wonder if the layer was him saying when the AC turns off there’s a smell? Because Ive noticed there’s a funky smell in my car when it turn it off 😅
I've noticed that too sometimes when it's been humid and I turn the AC off. That metallic ozone smell? It makes me wonder if I need new coolant or filter.
As a Special Educator for 23 years I need to tell you that Russ has some genius level language and communication skills. It floors me how well he manipulates the words he knows to express what he is thinking and feeling. Example: using the word “ice” to indicate the air conditioner. Clearly he has made the connection that they are both cold. 🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳🥳❤❤❤
@shastahill oh perhaps you're right, ty for this correction. Can u believe how intelligent and creative at communicating these pets, all animals probably are, if we just give them the tools!!?
realistically, he’s hitting enough buttons to get a reaction. most cats don’t want more than food or attention. think koko the gorilla that could “sign”
The cats are VERY sensitive to smells here. Especially cleaning products so we’re now cleaning all natural, the house, the pets, laundry etc. SO happy with that in every way.
Look at all the confidence in your kitty. It's tail straight up. You can tell these are very loved animals and treated Kindly, you can just see it in the animal 's body language. Thank you for loving your kitties so much 💖
I get the feeling Russell would alert you if there was a problem with a low-level gas leak or something similar, saving your lives. He'd end up on the news, you'd have to get him an agent, and all too soon, you'd be relocating to Hollywood.
I do actually think about smell…. I have a cat with asthma and so there’s a lot of things our household no longer does: no scented laundry products, extra vacuuming until the carpet can be removed, air purifiers, meticulously changing the hvac filters, we don’t open windows (pollen and etc), no more scent diffusers/oil diffusers/candles, etc.
This is very good for your health as well. All that stuff is attacking your endocrine system and clogging your lungs too, you just can’t feel it. (Im more like your cat). You are such a good cat human, most people won’t give up their entertainment smells even though it hurts others
My Bobo always wants to smell everything, every item bought at the store gets smelled before we put it in the fridge😊He is very ‘smell oriented’ and every morning we open the bedroom window and smell the air outside together(yes,my neighbours think Im nuts🤷🏻♀️😂) I always have to get the hand soap and hand cream and cleaning soaps that Bobo is used to cause if it is a new smell and he doesn’t like it…it will not be used in our home🤷🏻♀️ I don’t mind at all,Im just thinking that it is our home,it is his apartment too and of course he should get to deside what it should smell like since it is important to him.I love Bobo,if I can do just little things every day that will make him happy of course I will do it.He deserves to feel like his opinion and feelings are important too❤️🐈⬛❤️
@@reginosky. Thank you🌻 I just think it is the right thing to do,I mean to treat our animal-friends the way we would’ve liked to be treated if we were the animals😊
Man, I quit using fragrance smelling lotion and cologne……and deodorant at night!!!! Because my handsome ass cat loves to shove his tiny precious face right in my pit, and purr to sleep. I absolutely love it 🥰
Not sure what type of air conditioner you have, but side note: air conditioning units often begin to smell because when the condenser freezes up, outside air gets drawn across the iced-up condenser, cooling the air, and is blown into the room as cold air. The condensation that forms during this process drips out a waste hose (some units collect it in a waste water jug). When you're done running your air conditioner to cool the area, you should flick it to fan or dry mode, to dry up any residual condensation that hasn't drained fully and is still inside the unit. If this condensation is left in the unit, it stagnates, and next time you turn the air conditioner on, you get "that smell". (not me wondering if Russell referred to the condensation as "later ice" because it's literally melted ice that's making the air conditioner smell 😐)
I often do wonder how my cat is affected by the smells around my house! Especially cooking smells. Though one of his favorite things is to watch me cook!
I'd like to teach my cat to use buttons like that. It'd be nice to know what she wants when she scratches at the apartment door. Does she want to go out? Is she just trying to get my attention? Reminding me to feed her? Change the litter box? Go to bed? Yes, I think sometimes she wants me to go to bed in the bedroom and not out in my recliner. LOL
I have a cat that has your multi's colouring. She uses other means to communicate, but Calicos are so smart. She taught my older cat, who is her mother how to communicate better. She is a tuxedo cat who didn't know how to fully bond until the last couple of years. She was rejected by her mother and I got her before she was a month old. My mom has her litter sister and she went the opposite and bonded to my mother so much that she only has room in her heart for my mother. She tolerates me, but she is very clingy still at 8 years old. She hates my sister. She still hisses at me sometimes, but after she got sick a few months ago, she became a lot nicer to me. She doesn't know what to think since I started blinking at her when she is cranky. She will give me a nose kiss sometimes and then remember she is annoyed that I am takimg mom's attention from her. Right now my two are being weirdos. Mama cat is wigglimg her tail around because baby,.who is 5 years old and thinks she is a kitten, wants to play and cuddle with mama cat, but she wants to sleep. The wagging tail is too much for my younger cat to handle and she wants to grab it. Itnis like having toddlers right now.

Ice smell! He knows to call cold AIR ICE! What a smart boy. Cats smell about 100 times better than humans, so if you smell it, imagine how it's 100 times stronger to them!
A dirty filter can cause condensation build up on the filter than can freeze and literally smell like ice, because it is ice. Definitely change the filter and see if that helps. Russell is on top of that deferred maintenance!
You probably have moldy ducts or moldy window units if you have window units. I advise you to get it cleaned. The air conditioner by itself certainly has no smell and even if it leaked refrigerant, it would leak mostly outside and evaporate super fast.
I don't know I would think he said now listen it's not hot enough for that icy air conditioner, go ahead and turn that off until later and he said smell because he doesn't know how to say feel cold
