Can i use a triangular flask as a reaction vessel, i have always seen people use a round bottom flask for this reaction never understood why. I do not have a round bottom flask or a heating mantle.
Nurdrage has used conical flask as a reaction vessel on a hot plate. The protocol says that reaction should be performed in round bottom flask. There is a risk of cracking on heating conical flask.
Triangular flask i think you mean an erlen flask, it could be used as a last resort but you should get a boiling flask the reason is erlen flask has an uneven glass concentration and could be too thick or too thin in some places and its not designed for heating much it could crack or chip a boiling or round bottom flask is even and is made of borosilicate glass so its resistant to heat
Wearing nitrile gloves while working with fuming nitric acid can be dangerous but not wearing them is also dangerous . I personally wore them for a reason due to sulphuric acid and possibility of hands getting yellow due to fumes of nitric acid. Taking care no nitric acid spills on gloves.
"If Hell had breath"
That thought runs through my mind every time I see or get near fuming nitric.
When you will make that video of trinitrotoluene?
Soon expect it to be uploaded this December

What is the tail pipe next to collecting nitric acid for
Scrubbing fumes of acid and NO2 in water
Hello, thank you for making a video. I have a great interest in chemistry. My question is, is it possible to convert ethanol into methanol?
Yes ethanol to acetic acid to acetamide to methyl amine to methanol .
