i have the candy red version of this bike and owned it for 5 years,i'm 61 and it makes me feel 21,i would never get rid of it.
Last of the 5 valve R1's. I think the 2004-06 R1 was the best looking bike of its era, and still looks good even by today's standards
Still a sweet machine! Today's bikes have gone too Transformers. This generation looks tough and graceful at the same time...
I have an 04 and a 14, and while I love the sounds of the 2014, I still love throwing a leg over the 04 because it's so rideable still even today. I have it for sale, but I overpriced it so hopefully nobody will steal her from me.
@@hudsonja which site, my friend?
@@noeagosto9231 just listed locally for now
@@hudsonja how much brother looking for one?+
Any older rider will tell you 2005 was the 1970 of motorcycles. Absolutely insane performance… And still have the Lighter weight… And no traction control in ABS and computer programs etc. etc. i’m about to pick up a 05 Raven for $2000
😁🤙🏼
i got a 04 red with 26k for 6k and im pleased. had to add mods to get it where i felt it lacked but its nearly there.
O5 Red, with devil slip ons, My previous was the R1 98 R&W bought new.
I have mine in the silver color. Bought it band new in 2003 and it's been flawless for me. No problems, tons of power and still the best looking R1. I have no desire to move up to a newer model. This one is perfect.
I don't need fancy house music, I don't need flashy editing. All I need is raw 1000cc power. Thanks for delivering
Awesome bike, I had one from New in blue . Still own a 55 reg in mint original condition, lava red. This model was the very best Yamaha produced back then and still is more powerful than most can handle today. Fantastic frame, superb motor, capable of mega miles, last of the five valve per cylinder models.
The brakes are more than up to the job, never had a problem when riding hard, loads of power on the lever. 2004/2006 the ones to buy! 👍
Dream bike. I enjoyed that a lot man the intro was brilliant :D
I’ve many dream bikes. One day.
Had to leave the premier due to work, the R1 has been an iconic bike for sure! :-)
No probs mate. I didn't think I was pushing it too much but some little marbles appeared on the left side of the tyre after going back and forth on the same corner for the drone
@@bikehubjapan :D
Loved the intro man. So good.
Thanks mate. I think before the years out I (and my mate who's helping me now) will have made at least one really awesome video. Fingers crossed
@@bikehubjapan I’ll be watching.
Loved my R1. Did 5600ks in 3 weeks from qld to the Great Ocean road and back. Was lovely
Andy, that R1 looks like a nice, well tuned weapon. I'd expect nothing less from you. Your old 750 gixer would be proud!
I guess he didn't see this comment so I'll tell him you said Hi!
@@bikehubjapan your person opinion 2004 YZF R1 or 2009 Gsx-r... Picking up one of them this weekend.... I only rode wife's CBR 600rr. I'm coming from Harley Dyna FXDB 2013 please help
Well....I think the R1 is a bit peaky. Less torque than the Gixxer. Bit more of a handful and needs more revs to go fast. Personally I'd go for the GSX-R as it's more user friendly
@@bikehubjapan Thank you so much! Appreciate it I think the Gsx-r Is badass I was leaning in that direction.
This is my bike R1 2004 Esta es mi moto 17 años con ella. With me 17 year. Sorry my inglés
That bike sounds angry, but refined. I’ve only ridden two R1’s. The original 1998 and a 1999. Both far faster than I have courage or ability.
@mister clean I really didn’t give it much. Don’t have the nads.
You’ve touched on an interesting topic there. What is it with professional reviewers fixation with brembos? I mean, if a high-performance bike doesn’t come equipped with them, they will absolutely drop the *B* word somewhere during the review. It’s as if Brembo are these demigods of braking technology and all the other manufactures are mere monkeys banging rocks together. Which I’m sure objectively cannot be true.
I have a soft spot in my heart for 5v i had 3 so far. Aiming for a fourth one soon
Like a two movie stars ,
So cool !!
Which actors do you think? Tom Cruise? 😎
Brad Pitt and Decaprio Of course !!
Awesome reply haha. Thank you
I think more like Cheech and Chong
Ill never get rid of my 05
The sound 😍💜
The bike YES...my GoPro...NO!
I have a 2006 raven R1 and i love it 😊
Your quality is so high man, great watch :D
'She's been coming home late from work recently, and she doesn't even have a job...so' 😂😂
Thanks mate. I'd really appreciate if you could share the video on your social media to try and get me some more viewers! 👍
@@bikehubjapan sure thing man!
I actually have my 5th RN12 the 2006 Modell its my alltine favorite Bike. Its pretty, its fast enouth it sounds amazing. I love it!!!
We need see a R1 50th Anniversary
The 04 won the TT that year, with minimal prep, and john McG never having rode it before the race.
Great sound and the front tyre would last for ages it seems😀
As soon as it gets into the powerband it wants to wheelie. I didn't really ride it so hard though. The owner was right behind me the whole time hahaha
Unfortunately the rear tyre is squared off on this bike right now. Maybe give it a proper spanking and upload again when it has fresh tyres and some other TLC
was really intresting to listen to the bike sound but alot of wind noises
Yes...I didn't know but my microphone was broken. On my latest video (track day) it's fixed
nice
nice video and content mate. for ride with you soon😎
made in Japan 🔥👌
This era of litre bikes are in my opinion the pinnacle ~ right before they went mad on computer aids that disconnect and distract from the true connection.
Genesis 5 valves / cilinder engine..nice !!!
How long do you need to be riding before you can handle one of these beauties?
Hmmm...maybe a 3rd bike. Start small and build up...
I agree. I have the raven edition, its my third bike
Na just keep it under 6000rpm
I had mine a year, before I actually started thrashing it with confidence.
So this is what is would be like if I rode my r1 thru Japan lmao. Now if I could only imagine the mountain air the smells the temperature. The feel of that Japanese wind.. but I kind of like that I can top out my bike on out major US highways doe
Sweeeeeeeet!
wear his old lady out✌🏻‼️😂
If I where to get one I would name her after mikasa from aot. They are both Japanese , hot and badass
What's AOT?
@@bikehubjapan attack on titan. It's a pretty cool anime
