    No idea who Richard Smith is, but i see you have 666 subscribers, and that Smith is a MONSTER in the Merle Travis tradition, so I'm a fan of you both.

      Richard is a British picker prodigy. National Finger Picking champ is 2002. He played with Chet Atkins on stage in London at the age of 11. Chet said "The kid's better than me!" LOL! If you liked "Cannonball Rag"....check this out. Truly incredible. Tommy Emmanuel is floored by it! ruclips.net/video/RCGGG9piAGY/видео.html

    Richard not only plays the tune, he plays variations as played by Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and others. One of those tunes you can keep adding bits as you learn them, which keeps it interesting to play. Saying that I have just learned the basic tune, I have a long way to go!

    Bob Wallace here. Do you know what Kirk Sand died from? Your play gets better and better. Cheers.

    Nylon strings?

    • @gregjwelsch
      @gregjwelsch  3 года назад +1

      Yes, I believe Richard uses D'Addario nylon strings on his Kirk Sand custom guitar.

    Oh! Stop it! Talk about Robert Johnson's deal with the devil. This is just amazing playing, must be a satanic pact 😕

    Richard. Please play some songs from the 60s and 70s and not from the 40s,50s and something besides Chet Atkins old standards, and please leave a lot of Jerry Reed stuff out.
