True, but you can add a link to a related video in a short. A workaround would be to link to a longer video on the same topic on your channel. Then include the link in the longer video's description. The benefit of this is additional watch hours and more time to discuss more about /expand on your topic. The expanded video does not even need to be that long - it just needs to adequately cover the topic. This additional content will help your channel in the long run. Think of the shorts as supplemental content to draw people in for your real content.
