As a person from Chongqing, I must tell you that when eating Chongqing hotpot, you must dip it in seasoning! This is common knowledge in China, as dipping can reduce the spiciness and heat of hot pot, and increase its taste. The basic dipping ingredients for spicy hotpot in Chongqing and Sichuan are usually made up of sesame oil, garlic paste, coriander, a little oyster sauce, and a little MSG. Of course, you can also combine according to your favorite style on the seasoning table. But the basic dipping combinations are those mentioned earlier. Wishing you a pleasant time playing and eating in China.

Chinese doesn't have tipping culture. If you really want to show your gratitude, two thumbs up with a big smile to the waitress is enough. You guys have done your homework with Alipay. It's very good. Don't forget to try bubble tea, pastry and coffee while you are touring the streets in China. Won't be disappointed.

China does not have a tipping culture, and it is a commercial rule in China to clearly mark prices. Requesting tipping will increase the burden on consumers and is considered unethical.😂😂 I don't quite understand why tipping is required in the West. Isn't it the right thing to serve customers?😳 If the service is in place, there will be more and more repeat customers. It’s a win-win situation and consumers don’t need to pay more.

@@zingwibrotherstwo different things shouldn't be meesed together.
Customers should know the exact amount of money they need to pay when they choose the service. When they choose the same service they shouldn't be treated differently. It's only fair to customer in this way.
It's a different thing if the staff is paid fairly by the boss, which is subject to other regulations.

It seems you guys don’t quite know using the flavour sauces(by your small bowl). It will make it quite different and much much more delicious especially for the spicy hot pot. Usually you can DIY it at the self-helping flavour station. Sesame sauce, sesame oil, mashed garlic, coriander… are the most popular choices. There are a lot of other materials and flavours. Just choose whatever you like and mix it in your bowl. No sauce, no soul for eating hot pot. 😂

Nice try bro, but I would like to share some perspectives from a local, this is definitely a very touristy hotpot restaurant and if you will only be able to find a really nice one under the instruction of a local person. The authentic ChongQing hotpot is way more flavorful than this.
BTW, since you are in ShenZhen now, please try "ChaoShan beef hotpot", which will definitely blow your minds away as that might be the best way to cook beef and it is not spicy at all, in which way you can taste the milky and naturally sweet flavor to it.

Don't crowd in Shanghai. China is huge, not just Shanghai. Each city has its own style. From south to north, from east to west, it is difficult for even Chinese people to visit every city. But you can choose a representative city in a certain region, Beijing in the north, Harbin in the northeast. Urumqi in Xinjiang, Kunming in Yunnan, Chengdu in Sichuan. Xi'an and Luoyang in the middle. If you have enough time, you can also go to third-tier cities. There is a time difference between the east and the west. Don't tip. China does not have this culture. Telling customers clearly about the price is the most basic integrity.
