I'm a 10.5 Wide in converse all stars but can squeeze into a 10.5 in 70s however the toe box is tighter than I'd like. Do you think I could get away with a pair of these or will the just be too narrow? (No wide offerings in high tops.) Thanks!
To be honest I think they'll be too narrow for you. A 9.5 in these feels the same as a 9 chuck 70, so I guess you could try going with a size 11 but without being able to try them on in person sizing can be a gamble!
I never liked the look of Vachettas on the website, but they look great worn in, I was thinking of the Cacaos (that's why I found this video) but now I'm leaning towards the Vachettas
Great review, thanks for doing it! I just picked up the same pair of waxed cacao's and I generally like them....except they are incredibly difficult to put on! They fit comfortably when they're on, but squeezing into them takes some doing. Unfortunately, thinking I might have to return them because of that. Have you had a similar experience?
I haven’t had that issue but I do find I have to take the laces out of the top hole to loosen them when I put them on then relace the top hole once they’re on.
I want to switch from vans sk8-hi to these, would you endorse that idea. Mostly just wear vans on my motorcycle, weight training and at the grocery store. Nothing to vigorous, mainly chores.

I'm only getting one and if you had to choose only one of them that best went with your wardrobe which would it be? My wardrobe is very similar to yours. Jeans, Chinos, T-shirts and some button down shirts.

I just got 2 pairs of the Thursday high tops. I’m wearing the Old English today (the other cacao which I haven’t worn yet). Look very nice, but let me tell you…these things are absolute torture on my feet. Feels like thin sheet metal wrapped around my feet, not pliable leather. Based on these I don’t see how anyone in their right mind could think these are comfortable sneakers. I haven’t worn shoes this uncomfortable in eons. I did order my usual size for sneakers but had to return for half size up which are a better normal fit, but they are sheer bloody hell. My feet are throbbing and feel on fire. Compare this to Thursday Major boots which were so comfortable and no break in at all.

Compare this to Thursday Major boots which were so comfortable and no break in at all.
That is so strange, mine have been super comfortable in terms of the leather on my feet! Just not a ton of support/cushion underfoot. That must suck!
