The fact that you are a hk player listening to celeste music while you speedrun and I am a celeste player listening to hk music while I golden is very funny to me.
I’m replaying this game for the third time. It’s so good and this run is mad impressive. 180 hours on Nintendo switch never beat last pantheon, second run on pc 10.5 hours for normal play through and 20.5 for beating pantheon + 112%. On third playthrough now and looking at speed runs is insane. Mad props to you savage runners.
I haven't watched a speed run of this since Vysuals in AGDQ and I was so amazed by all of the new stuff you implemented. The "fast walking" glitch, the amazing ascent through Crystal Peak, that was all just unreal to see. I'm currently doing my first Steel Soul run and was really inspired by this.

do you have any tips for a new speedrunner? i started by watching gwonkees tutorial and there's so many little movement things that I didn't even notice before. idk how you pull everything off so flawlessly
yeah you just wanna start off with watching other people, learning the route and the main strats n stuff, gwonkees tutorial is very solid and once you start getting consistent with the strats in that guide you can start slowly picking up new strats one by one. the input display is very useful for knowing how to do a strat just by watching it and make sure you join the discord by going into speedrun.com and then to hollow knight and then press the lil discord icon on the mid right ish and it’ll take you there. community is very friendly and don’t hesitate to ask questions n stuff about the run. watching other people is the main way to stay updated on strats and to learn tho. best of luck hope this helps a lil.

You can always do what I did and route in shade soul. It loses about 10 mins to the meta route but makes it much easier to actually finish the run. Tis a thought, no idea where you're starting from or what your goal is.

This is insane! Almost unbeatable by a human! By the way, would it be faster to get the relic in king's station instead of the other one. Plus, you buying the station anyways so what would be fastest? Saving the grub in beast's den might have lost 100ms but it did wish you good luck
so yeah we used to do the kings station relic but now this re route to here you get the different relic (found by me!!!) saves 15 seconds. you also can’t buy the stag early cause you don’t got geo
so the main requirement with this trick is that you have to be on the patch 1221. once you do that (guides are in the hollow knight discord on how to), i would recommend that when practicing this trick, to turn on hitboxes, you can do this when you have the speedrunning tool debug mod installed, and you have to upslash through the floor to hit the lever. if you have questions about how to do this stuff i would recommend asking in the discord they can help you with a lot of things. oh btw you can join hk discord by pressing the lil discord icon on speedrun.com in the hk section. hope this helps
unfortunately no, you can’t have any mods installed for the version of the game you’re doing runs on. the only mod you can have installed is a screen shake mod that removes screen shake on 1221.
to be honest with you i don’t even know how i keep it at the first timestamp. i dash as early as the game lets me and sometimes it doesn’t register me on the ground so i think thats why that strat works. for the second one it works because i start touching the wall before i go into the transition. therefore, i keep the state of being on the wall while falling through the air and then i jump on the first frame i can, allowing me to keep wcs. hope this helped a little bit.

so since i did a quitout at lurien that saved about .3, it produced a visual glitch that said i didn’t have the dreamer, but in actuality i did as i could still open the black egg temple
Thats slower. Skipping her dialogue means that you cant attack her until she actually primes for the fight, but going through her text allows you to attack her before she primes
