All the old Pete's and K w's I used to drive had cool down dials on the dash. You are correct my friend about warming up and cooling down the engine oil and turbo. Been around since the 70's.......
As an old skool driver we always start up idle 10 min before putting under load, idle 10 min with engine fan on after load to lower and equalize temps before shut off... I now have a mil on my pete turbo and still going strong
If your turbo is loud, might be bearings. Computer with not throw a code for a potentially bad bearing. Also since you tow 24/7 you should change your oil every 5 to 6,000 miles. Your engine oil shares your turbo oil aswell. You are extremely heavy duty use Renee.

I forgot to mention last night that if indeed you need to idle your truck for heat or A/C out that sucker in high idle mode by using the cruise control function and the set button. Increase the idle to 1200 rpm so you don’t create a wet soaking situation.

Yes you’re correct on letting your truck run a few minutes before shutting off to let cooler oil run through turbo, it will last longer if you do.
I got a dodge ram myself but when it comes to hauling power...the ford F-450 is King by far.
