You could try to build like a "trailer" in the eco lifestyle world, for like a 5 Sims family that are kinda poor but trying to live in an eco friendly way
@@zakikin6006 y'all have like 4000 base game houses that kayla has built. they are not fun to watch. surely you can admit this house was a lot more enjoyable to watch than "base game house with the same exact furniture" number 37
@@zakikin6006 I get that!! I used to get really excited for bg only builds. Though I really like the variety in her builds like this! I got tired of that clay basegame white couch 😂
I know we have very different aesthetic sensibilities because Kayla always describes things as “too much” or “too busy” that I would consider to be too minimalist!
These builds are seriously hard because in real life we have metres etc, but we don't have measurements like that in the Sims 4. You either have a room too big or too small
It seems in the sims the grid is about one metre by one metre but not all the items fit how they do in real life. In the sims single beds are 1x3 but my bed in real life is 1x2.
I also recreated this house a couple of weeks ago as close as I could! I kept the garage and made it into a recreational space for my family with the video filming station, archaeology table and a couple of other bits.
Exactly. Simsie isn’t the only one with a bunch of packs lol. And even if some are missing (I don’t have the high-school pack and dream home decorator) I just replace those items myself.
simsie i think its okay to make ur houses expensive/use a lot of packs sometimes lol cus tbh a lot of us download houses that are small but our households still have a lot of money lol
omg Kayla! we enjoy WATCHING YOU build, I believe many of us don’t even download anything from the gallery, I personally just get inspired by you! And it would be so nice to see you build with no limiting yourself with packs or budget :(((
I have all the packs used, and this house is beautiful!! I might download it sometime if I don't feel like building someday - cuase I don't always feel like spending forever in build mode.
I find it funny how Kayla always complains about scaling being off but i built this EXACT HOUSE and fit the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths really well, Kayla i think you just dont pick the right lot sizes to build these more modern builds, 20x30 my dear
finally a fun build!!! the simmers who own most of the packs are very grateful. no more base game cause the simmers with no packs have plenty of your builds to download. i love seeing your creative side, it really makes the videos so much fun to watch. would love to see more of this!
I love the fact you said screw the budget screw what packs are in it. You just let you creativity flow same way you did the autumn build. We can find substitutes for the the stuff we have no problem beastie. I would like to see more videos like this in the future.
I'm so glad to see Kayak building these houses and not just base game. I just love to see how creative she can be with all the packs and her taste is so good 💖😍
See, you can make great builds that aren't all just the same base game blue suburbans. Hope you make more of these, they look amazing and truly showcase your potential!
Kayla is my comfort RUclipsr at this point, I watch multiple videos of her every single day- Her calm voice and chill demeanor and enjoyment of the game is just 🤌 Love you
The only way I've been able to keep playing the same family for 15 generations (sort of 17 depending on how you count) is by moving every gen. This is the first one where the heir is staying in their parents' house and I got so twitchy about it I already built the next gen's home!
For some reason this build screams "divorced dad in his thirties whose only child stays with him during the weekends" lol. Thanks for this build, Kayak! :)
I can't for the life of me understand why most people want rugs under their kitchen table, think of all the crust and dirt that gathers 😂 I know it's the sims but it applies for both the sims and reality 😇
This is really nice!! I build garages/barns/outhouses and things like that and turn them into gyms or workshops. Makes the build more interesting but is actually useful ☺️
This is so beautiful, I'm definitely going to download it! Also, when you say there's too many packs no one is going to download it. Girl, we are all obsessed with sims.. we have like all the packs. Don't be afraid to use them 🤣
This looks amazing kayla! Does anyone else want to see a realistic build challenge? Like no moving walls or bathrooms? The kitchen has to stay. NO MAKING IT SMALLER
I like this one a lot! I always think the modern ones look so cool. I was just shaking my first at the lack of thermostats in your builds over the weekend 😋. I was hosting Winterfest in your RUclips HS Years Let's Play house and all my Sims were dressed in their party gear shivering and blowing on their hands! Got it fixed just in time for the stove to catch on fire so I guess I got double heat 😆.
Omg !!! I tried to recreate this exact house ! I was so in love with it. But I couldn't figure out the roof so I gave up ❤️ Kayla has inspired me to try again 👍🏾🥰
you can make a roof sit taller, like on top of a platform. u just gotta make an extra room on a foundation and build a roof on it and then drag it to the rest of the house (first drag it so its just over the ground and doesnt have rooms under it, and then drag it over the house so theres no conflicting heights). hope it makes sense lol. it ends up glitchy and might delete if you edit the walls? but if you add it in the end it can really improve the shape of the build
The back of the original house is essentially a blank canvas. I'm not fond of having any carpet under the dining table. Even if you are very careful, sooner or later, some food WILL fall on it, and chances are it will be soup, juicy meat, gravy or something else that will soak into the carpet real fast. I never have carpet under a dining table IRL and in the Sims. Hard wood, tiles or linoleum.
In real life my house is mostly carpeted. One of the only places we don’t have carpet is the dining room for that same reason. It seems silly to put hardwood everywhere and then put a rug under the dining table lol.
A fun challenge to do could be to take one of your builds that has a bunch of packs in it but replace it all with just base game. The layout is the same, you just have to try to match it as close as possible with just base game.
OMG, I recreated this same house for Oasis and left off the garage too! It’s a nice mid-century design? Like how yours turned out! I made the bedrooms on the right side with a short staircase so it’s kinda like a split level.
I think one of the more difficult aspects of doing a modern build in the Sims is that architecture and shapes are a huge thing and that can be hard to bring into the Sims. Also, metal and glass pieces, which I think we are lacking in the Sims. Modern furniture is usually also designed to be interesting looking, a statement, it is art and furniture. I feel we are majorly lacking that as well in the Sims
"i thought we could build it here in Oasis Springs because it kinda fits that mid-century vibe" - Kayla, whilst a giant dinosaur looms in the background
You should try to build houses in only one type of material (where possible). Like wood only furniture/wallpaper/flooring. Metal or stone only is a possibilty.
I loved this house so much I decided to build it myself before I watch your video. Mine turned out more like the original photo tho. I couldn’t put a roof on the middle section of the house cause the sims. But I like what you did too. 👍
my safe places is laying in bed eating takis with a slushee and watching little simsie, then going on sims and building a gorgeous unique ✨blue suburban✨
Oasis Springs has heatwaves, IRL Seattle is having a smoke wave! There is ash raining from the orange tinted sky. I have an air purifier, it's fine, just wanted to share!
I want Kayla to do a "No Rugs" challenge. She would need to think of interior decorating WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF RUG. Not even a floor pattern pretending to be a rug. This could evolve into "No Plants" challenge, "No Paintings" challenge... Just for her to think of different ways to decorate using other Sims items.
Ok a challenge build but every room is limited to 2-3 packs, so for each room you randomly pick a few packs to use, OR you could do a challenge build where you have to use EVERY pack at least 1 time.
When Kayak was doing the backyard & was like “idk what to do here because it’s long & skinny” I was convinced it was going to cut to her putting a chess table. 😂
