I usually just use my C4 Multi Band-Comp for Increase some thickness or remove some unnecessary low frequency or breath,l mean I only use it for specific range,so I always bypass other bands,just want to know what particular reasons you need all the bands?
I was trying to go along with you but I had to make up something for your compression settings because I don't have that compressor. I have no idea what I'm doing I'm going to have to learn this stuff for my music. Then I listened to my vocals and they were weirdly statically so I just stopped trying to go along and deleted everything I followed along to. Hopefully one day I can mix my music! Thanks for the video.
Hello Valentina, so you've first mixed the music down to a stereo pair then added the vocals to another 4/5 tracks? Not a bad Idea. I had a project with 38 instrument tracks and decided to mix it all down to a stereo pair. I then opened a new project and imported the instrument mix into it. Once that was done I did all the vocals. I did have to remix the the stereo mix a few times to make some small changes to the instrument track. I actually worked out great! PS...you have a great voice.

Great song, the artist did an awesome job with it. Shame he sent you a RUclips beat though with the watermarks from the beat maker still lodged into the mp3. Hopefully he purchased it at some point. Not having the stems to the beat really binds the producer's hands, however you still made it sound amazing. Loving your content, hope to see you on the charts one day girl!
About 8:16 in, you mention an mp3 file is being mixed. Wouldn't you use a WAV file instead? Very good tutorial otherwise as this helps boost my confidence for future practice.
Imagine you are mixing a song of 40+ tracks and start renaming all those tracks. Duh... right? So it is the best Tip for a person to rename by himself/herself all the tracks before giving to the engineer.
A bus is a way to send audio from one track to an aux track. So instead of adding a reverb to multiple vocal tracks you can just send them through bus 1 to 1 instance of reverb. So can adjust the send amount to taste from there. Saves a lot of cpu usage
Just think of bus tracks like a real bus. Everyone on that bus is going to the same place instead of everyone driving their own cars hogging up the parking lot (CPU). You have the Reverb bus, delay bus, background vocal mix bus etc. It streamlines the heck out of your mixing time as well
@@THELAP Hi, thnx. I get that. The question though is whether when in the actual recording process, you have the chain enabled or do you prefer to record without the plugins enabled and add them to enhance your raw vocal take after the fact? Thnx!
@@paulcasanova9340 idk if it’s too late for the info but to answer your question , yes you can record thru your vocal chain while you record , but if you feel like it’s too much going on or your experiencing delay while you record then just record Raw then enable the vocal chain when you’re done recording . Hope that helps
Why is there such a and delay between what you hear and what we hear? The VU's aren't matched to what we're hearing, there's a big delay between when you play and when we hear.
Hi, can you also change the gain of that 2 track instrumental using the gain on the inspector and reducing the wave form by multiple DB etc. or is that the wrong way to do it? Thnx

Honestly, I don't understand why so many rappers use mastered beat to record their vocals. It makes no professional sense. Why they don't use the mixed version without mastering like normal people. They really have to learn the basics of sound recording
It's not about your mix, sorry; but I really bored about this auto tune thing... All vocals sounds the same.. It was good when Cher was singing "Belive"... I really want to hear real vocals. I miss 80's...

Chill. She did. She stated in the video once compression is added everything is basically enhanced (breaths, pops, etc.) and for this video she's not going to edit it out (which the song was given to her basically unedited to begin with). She mentioned this twice in the video... to be sure to edit/clean up the tracks/vocals.

If you are gifted with skill... show it don’t just program a pattern that’s wack. Very insulting to true musicians. Just keeping it real!

Do you record your lead vocals through your vocal chain or add the chain after-the-fact to enhance your dry takes? Thnx
If it’s in the plug-in chain, the vocal remains raw, so if the plugins are disabled it’ll just be a dry vocal

I thought dividing by 2 gave you smaller fractions? Like- 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, etc...
