Are you kidding?! A twig could snap and every Deer within a 10-mile radius would high-tail it. However, if they hear anything coming down the road, sounding like an orchestra of engines, all you get is that infamous “Deer in the headlights”, stare. For such intelligent creatures, they have got to be the absolute worst at getting the fuck out of the way. Damn things will be pulling evasive maneuvers across the entire roadway and have you looking like you’re competing for the world’s quickest slalom lap time.

Dude I was hauling a container at work from our container yard to our other warehouse like 5-8 minutes away, and I was going on the main highway at around 45 mph (speed limit was 50 but it was a rainy day, just got my CDL so took it cautiously) and a decently sized doe ran out in front of the semi I was driving and I probably hit it going 35 mph bc it’s kinda hard to stop a 20 ton vehicle. Anyways, I checked the doe and it was badly hurt and the company truck I was using had a huge dent and the front bumper was halfway off! You got lucky my sir

It looks like you anticipate deers on that road. Luckily there wasn't one that jumps out of a wooded area. My neighbor had one leap in front of his truck from in between rocks and brush. He was in a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Diesel with a front guard, but the guard was dented in because it was a big male deer. The deer got up and ran he said. Good job down shifting and hitting the brakes in time. Excellent reflexes.

A white tail deer totalled my X5 last year, at night. It chose to bolt out in front of the only lit up, roaring, 5,000 pound iron elephant moving at 80mph on a flat straight road, with nothing but flat, grassy land on both sides. Stupidest animals alive. The only good part of that story is that deer did not get back up.

Your video with the angle really showed a much better view of it's capabilities even though I know it has much more left on the table. It's pretty crazy how a deer can get straight up wacked by a multi ton piece of metal and plastic or carbon fiber idk witch, and then run away!

I was riding my motorcycle on a curvy road by my house that I ride often. The turns on that road are really fun at a brisk pace. Well it was around the same time and I had almost hit a deer on that road before in my car so I was aware and ready to react going around those last few curves. Sure enough on the last one a deer is just standing there. Thankfully he started moving as soon as I saw him but I did have to straighten up and get on my brakes. I hope that little deer is alright, and I'm glad you got away without a scratch!

If you see a deer there are always more you don't see. I always look to the opposite side as soon as I see one. Even if they are all crossing in the same direction there can be stragglers or ones who hear you and decide to cross back.
Glad it worked out but if you're in TN always be on the lookout for Whitetail. My wife spotted a nice 6 point at her work which is 3 minutes from a large city lol.

Wow that could have been very bad for you and the deer. To those who dont know, hitting a deer is pretty much like hitting a person on a motorcycle. It can sometimes be fatal for the driver under the right conditions.
I had a coworker who was driving through a parking lot at costco. A woman carrying some groceries crossed without looking and almost got hit by him at about 30km/h. He was driving a full sized GMC van. She had a turkey in one of the bags and that what he hit. He said it was like hitting a tree. Caused a load of front end damage. And that was just a turkey. And no, it was not one of those hard as a rock, frozen Butterballs.
