@@haydona1845 yeah you're right, some people overestimate their driving abilities but that doesn't change the fact that the viper is one of the most dangerous road cars
Wow, I've had an experience with a 🦌 nothing like yours, you got a way with very little damage.... That area looks beautiful! Surprised the exhaust on that 🐍 didn't scare it off.
Are you kidding?! A twig could snap and every Deer within a 10-mile radius would high-tail it. However, if they hear anything coming down the road, sounding like an orchestra of engines, all you get is that infamous “Deer in the headlights”, stare. For such intelligent creatures, they have got to be the absolute worst at getting the fuck out of the way. Damn things will be pulling evasive maneuvers across the entire roadway and have you looking like you’re competing for the world’s quickest slalom lap time.
I had an unfortunate run in with a deer too, just not as lucky... Was 2 in the morning, was on an on ramp, deer on the highway side of the on ramp (like wtf how even) jumped right as I was passing and nailed my fender. Got a nice little dent in it now
I'll never understand why deer take off at the slightest sound when youre hunting them but freeze up and take off last second when they hear a loud ass car coming
that reaction time! unreal you escaped without any damage. between the deer and bear up there, running at dusk/night is a risk i don't usually take anymore, too stressful.
Dude I was hauling a container at work from our container yard to our other warehouse like 5-8 minutes away, and I was going on the main highway at around 45 mph (speed limit was 50 but it was a rainy day, just got my CDL so took it cautiously) and a decently sized doe ran out in front of the semi I was driving and I probably hit it going 35 mph bc it’s kinda hard to stop a 20 ton vehicle. Anyways, I checked the doe and it was badly hurt and the company truck I was using had a huge dent and the front bumper was halfway off! You got lucky my sir
That blows on both ends. There is always a straggler left behind in the bunch crossing. Anyhow...love the channel always looking forward to more content and wish the best for you guys!
I've always been a hardcore Corvette lover but this channel has made me appreciate the Viper. NOTHING sounds like it! Your situational awareness and reaction was as good as possible
No more back roads! Deer, sudden objects in the road, and drivers who can't stay in their lane all scare me enough to take the Viper elsewhere. I am glad you and your Viper are ok!
It looks like you anticipate deers on that road. Luckily there wasn't one that jumps out of a wooded area. My neighbor had one leap in front of his truck from in between rocks and brush. He was in a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Diesel with a front guard, but the guard was dented in because it was a big male deer. The deer got up and ran he said. Good job down shifting and hitting the brakes in time. Excellent reflexes.
Great video my man 👍 I love to see a talented recreational driver enjoying a ridiculously quick sports car on these amazing roads, like they were intended. I aspire to do the same. Glad to see that there was no damage.
A white tail deer totalled my X5 last year, at night. It chose to bolt out in front of the only lit up, roaring, 5,000 pound iron elephant moving at 80mph on a flat straight road, with nothing but flat, grassy land on both sides. Stupidest animals alive. The only good part of that story is that deer did not get back up.
I live in the areas of 28 and it’s almost always a no go during the late afternoon or night specifically for that reason. Glad y’all are ok! Beautiful Car!
This video low key made me car sick just watching it! LoL idk what it is but every single viper video I have seen on RUclips never shows the speed very well or the power it can dish out. Your video with the angle really showed a much better view of it's capabilities even though I know it has much more left on the table. It's pretty crazy how a deer can get straight up wacked by a multi ton piece of metal and plastic or carbon fiber idk witch, and then run away!
Within a week of getting my license I went into town to buy groceries and on the way back to the house heading on the highway a dog on the side of the road decided to walk in the middle of the road I was doing 70MPH I locked up my brakes and narrowly avoided the dog thank god
I was riding my motorcycle on a curvy road by my house that I ride often. The turns on that road are really fun at a brisk pace. Well it was around the same time and I had almost hit a deer on that road before in my car so I was aware and ready to react going around those last few curves. Sure enough on the last one a deer is just standing there. Thankfully he started moving as soon as I saw him but I did have to straighten up and get on my brakes. I hope that little deer is alright, and I'm glad you got away without a scratch!
That was a little Bumper Tap..... Should Buff out with some Compound but i recommend checking all the Fasteners and Bolts/Screws that hold the Bumper on incase they got Jarred Loose or slightly "Out of place"
If you see a deer there are always more you don't see. I always look to the opposite side as soon as I see one. Even if they are all crossing in the same direction there can be stragglers or ones who hear you and decide to cross back. Glad it worked out but if you're in TN always be on the lookout for Whitetail. My wife spotted a nice 6 point at her work which is 3 minutes from a large city lol.
Viper is definitely the only dodge car I probably like. I heard stories that people used to crash them right as they left the lot there so fast. Takes skill to drive that car right there.
Wow that could have been very bad for you and the deer. To those who dont know, hitting a deer is pretty much like hitting a person on a motorcycle. It can sometimes be fatal for the driver under the right conditions. I had a coworker who was driving through a parking lot at costco. A woman carrying some groceries crossed without looking and almost got hit by him at about 30km/h. He was driving a full sized GMC van. She had a turkey in one of the bags and that what he hit. He said it was like hitting a tree. Caused a load of front end damage. And that was just a turkey. And no, it was not one of those hard as a rock, frozen Butterballs.
Once you get further away from the dragon I would imagine it gets better, in rural nc the roads can get pretty empty especially as far into the mountains as he was, and tail of the dragon is about the only thing of interest for miles and miles in that area.
One of my worst nightmares. Coming back from VA in my 14 I went through Wyoming and Montana. Both had some serious wildlife on the highway. Tried to not drive a night for this reason but came real close at just after sundown hitting a bull moose in Wyoming.
I pull right up to em if they are standing at the roadside (and theres no traffic) And then I chase the lil sumbitch off into the tulies, it's hilarious 😂
I feel like deer will dare each other to run infront of cars. And then they look at you as if they're saying "Do it, I dare you." I hate when they do that. 😤😤
Aye! =:0 Hope the deer shrugged off that impact, as well as the 'Blue beest' did & glad ya'll are ok!! Whew! Yes, we have oodles of white tail deer in Wisc..I see them nigh every trip, rural area. I've only slightly bumped one, no dmg. I have brake checked and/or swerved countless times..takes ever present focus, eyes up. Got my license in '84, not bad, eh?..pats self on shoulder :p P.s. Ppl oft hit, 'that other deer'..not the one they 1st see, aha.
Just a lil baby deer. I hit a fawn sadly and killed it. I was in my dakota rt, tried to swerve since i could see no cars were around at all but it was too late. It did not suffer. I stopped to put it down but it was already done. I only hit it at 40ish, truck was unscathed. Not even a bit of fur on her
Hope everything goes well with repairs, my deer.
