As a British person, the person who sent this picked good snacks!!
Indeed, it was a very balanced selection that went from sweet to savoury and kids snacks to pub snacks, very well thought out! Far better than when somebody sends someone 6 types of crisps and 6 different chocolate bars.
Yes very true since other channels would of choice the least popular or most disgusting and not the one that are most known it Britain
The Soreen was a nice touch 👌
Was a good selection, and showed off some things that are very British, rather than all chocolate
Yes that was a really good selection.
Probably one of the best “quintessentially British” snack packs I’ve seen in a long while! Kudos to the sender! 👌🏻
Agreed!!! The sender did a good job! never heard of Soreen before, however. Everything else I've tried, apart from that.
Agree! Though, I was a bit surprised that there were no digestives included. I would've thought they're more quintessentially British than jammies? Eh, both are nice with a cuppa :)
fayedoodles yes, Emma definitely ticked a lot of boxes there. 🥳
They should have sent a kinder bueno as well. Those are hella popular where I live. They are so good.
@@MousTasha
Digestives always annoy me on these, you have them with tea and they never get it. Every response ever "they're too dry".
"Can we dive in?"

This is so interesting. When you see Americans react to British snacks they never like some of the stronger flavours but thinking about it I can see why some of these would appeal to a Korean palette
It's because Americans live off processed and chemically bombarded foods so they're not used to anything that is not artificial
also, when I sent my American friend some yorkie bars (and a few other snacks), he said that Britain has a lot sweeter chocolate?
Jazuwu that’s crazy - yorkie isn’t even that sweet to me! they must think dairy milk is super sweet
@@ratgirlsuu exactly!
@@ratgirlsuu we just like our darker chocolate more. 😊
as a proud brit this is literally the only uk snack trying video i've been satisfied with, emma did you right!
minxymissy1 yucky! I don't understand the obsession with Jaffa cakes aha.
minxymissy1 hahaha
minxymissy1 ohh everybody hates marmite 😂
Attack on Pieck how very dare you
Alice I'm the embodiment of the saying "there's always one" with this one then I guess haha
The sweetness of this grannie literally overpowers every bad thing that has happened this year. And that's a lot
I agree, this is the best escape.
Everything is OK when watching Grandma OK.
Zoey, thanks for sharing her with us.
i agree she also brings a big smile to my face , also its refreshing seeing folks give British snacks a proper try .

I’m proud Monster Munch was eaten the correct way.
I like biting the toes off 🤣
YES I inwardly cheered when they wore them as rings!
No idea what that is but good to know lol
Like the way we ate Burger Rings, as kids in Australia
I feel like the bit too quickly instead of letting it prickle at the tongue for a sec
I like how you’re respectful and complimentary of the food while also comparing it to Korean foods. It helps build up familiarity so more people will want to try foods out of their comfort zone. It’s really nice to watch.
The fan really thought ahead when she said "please don't cut the egg in half"
Alas the creme was baked by the hot floor so they didn't get to experience the ovilingus and the chocolate shell spreading over the outer gums, there to remain for three hours no matter how much you try to lick it off.
@@tricky778 the taste only lingers if you eat it warm

@@hugegamer8004 oh yeah haha
I’ve been wondering what Grandma OK thinks about the massive amount of love and positive vibes she gets from everyone.
There's a reason the pork scratching is natural looking... It's actually a salted and heavily cooked strip of pork skin and subcutaneous fat. It's the real thing.
Yess british fam where you at?
here
Ayyy wassup
Yoooo
Hii😊
(sneaks in as an American imposter) hehehehe
Noooo, the cream egg went hard! It's usually much more liquid than that. Every so often you get one like that where the filling is more solid, but it's not supposed to be that solid.
Oh yeah, true! I'd never really thought about that before but you're right! 😲 I was always so disappointed when the fondant filling got all thick and grainy and air pocket-y. Runny all the way! 😂
I wondered if she'd had the chocolate in the fridge because it was hot.
monster munch gave me primary school nostalgia lol
runatube same
Monster munch is my go to crisps lmao
@Kimberly Hughes walkers came first mate
Kimberly Hughes more like lays are a rip off from walkers you guys have terrible flavours
they gave me primary obesity
With grandma ok being so happy eating, she just makes you want to send her food lol
This was very cute!
That being said a lot of those choices would be very controversial here, not just the marmite twiglets. (Great job on the prawn cocktail though! Best flavour!)
I hope someone sends you some more Cadbury chocolate from the UK because the ones sold abroad are usually made in different factories with different recipes and don’t taste the same. The authentic British version has more milk.
British chocolate is generally very different to American chocolate because of the higher fat/milk content as opposed to the sugar American chocolate leads with and their other inexpensive and artificial ingredients.
Cadbury british vs NZ vs Australian.....
On a serious note though, have you seen a small Cadbury's almond chocolate bar like that being sold in UK shops?
I love the way they respect the food of all countries. They don’t feel the need to down any food. Most people feel the need to act superior towards American food. They just love it all. Respect to them.
Eva W nope but I saw it in the Middle East. I think it’s supposed to be like the wholelnut version?
Victoria Goforth yeah they are very open to other food and it’s nice.
I don’t know about feeling superior toward American food but it is a fact that a lot of US food does not pass the EU’s regulations and many companies have to also change certain ingredients first before they can be sold in Europe. It’s been a big controversy in the UK about potentially importing chemically washed American chicken. When we were in the EU it was banned. The public want reassurances that our food standards won’t slip because we’ve left the strict EU.
The comparison was because American snacks had already been tried. Also, due to the Cold War and proxy wars in the Far East, Americans snacks are more widely available and/familiar.
If I say American chocolate has more sugar or artificial flavours, it’s not me looking down on it, it’s a fact. I don’t like American chocolate but I do like American snacks like cheetos and sour patch kids (your jelly sweets are better in my opinion).
Oh nooooooo, I am British and I was dreading Grandma reacting to British food because it's so bland compared to other cuisines! 😂 But you were both so nice again! Was so lovely to hear your Grandma say she feels lucky to be trying these foods, she seems to be such a cordial lady and always so grateful and happy ❤️ I can see why she has a lot of fans!
@Grimmy Grim Grim I think you'll find that "mild tasting" is in the definition of bland. It's not to say the food is bad, but the flavours are definitely not strong nor are they really very interesting.
@Grimmy Grim Grim really you seem quite vexed by the fact I simply don't find British food to be very interesting. It's an opinion, it's a preference, I love how you're trying to school me like it'll change my mind 😂 what makes a "shit taste bud"? I like meat, I just don't think it's a particularly imaginative way to add flavour to a dish, I was vegetarian for years so really I think of much more interesting things to put in cooking, not just spices either. Aromatics, herbs, alcohols, fruit seeds or peel, nuts, different types of oil or butter but to name a few (yes some of which are in British cooking I know). You must be very cultured and interesting to be giving long patronising culinary lectures to people writing innocuous comments on a light-hearted video
Grandma Ok so sweet, especially when she said that she couldn't believe that she's trying the snacks. ❤❤
Love the vids
This was a great selection of quintessential British snacks - the sender did a great job! Lots of them were classics that have been around for ages. I was worried about your Grandma's teeth on the pork scratchings though omg 😨

She reminds me a lot of my great grandma before she passed. I watch these a lot when I miss her. Brings happy memeories.
Me too. She reminded me of my late paternal grandma a lot. Especially with her open-mindedness. Man, I miss my grandma now.
Aww I’m sorry you can’t send your grandma some goodies. That’s a shame! But you can go and visit when this is over, and give her lots of love xx

How were Jaffa Cakes not a part of this? 🤯
Very true.
This could definitely be a 3 part series.
Try the new pineapple ones
Mister Precocious I wasn't gone on the pineapple ones, prefer original or berry
If the rest of the world finds out about Jaffa cakes there won’t be enough for us Brits and we’ll end up with another toilet roll situation.
Let’s keep the Jaffa Cakes safely guarded over here, thank you.
Grandma is absolutely the most adorable person ever!!!
1:46 my poor heart . She is so sweet
It is very interesting how Zoey’s voice changes depending on whether she is speaking English or Korean or maybe that’s just me because I cannot understand different tones in Korean
No you're right, French is a great example where a language has a certain accent to make it understandable
This has made me so happy! So glad you both enjoyed some British delicacies. Your grandma melts my heart. I hope you would be able to find her a creme egg before Sunday! X
Iconic selection from Emma. When we are out of lockdown I’ll send you some more UK goodies. I love you two sooooo much. Thanks for the fun video
Also put some Jamaican Ginger cake, gingernut biscuits and shortbread in there as well.
@@peachesandcream8753 I love that cake! So good with some custard 🤤🤤
Love watching Grandma enjoy some snacks and love how she picked more than 1 🤣❤️
I want to hi 5 Emma, this is such a good range of British snacks!!! Probably the best video of this I've seen.
Rhubarb crumble with custard is a dessert here which is very good, the boiled sweets don't often have that much flavour compared to the original, especially since rhubarb is quite sour!
I love how grandma is in all of the recent videos it's soooo touching! 💖✨👵🏻
Koreans have Kim chi but the Brits have Pickled Eggs, Pickled Onion's Pickled Gherkin's, Branston Pickle, Piccalilli and on and on and on. Someone should send a care package of great British pickles to tempt Grandma's taste buds :)
This was the sweetest reaction to British snacks I think I've ever seen.
Soreen (the malt loaf) is ok, but homemade malt loaf is just the best!! My mum used to make it, slice it thickly and then put a thick spread of butter *__* Yummmmmm
Love your reactions to the snacks from the UK first video I have seen of yours and your grandmother. Also love your little cheers before you eat. You speak a beautiful language ❤️ from the UK

Grandma is always so sweet and doesn’t want to upset anyone and say that she doesn’t like something. ♥️
Never clicked so fast in my life.
Cadbury Creme Eggs are a special spring treat, they only are sold around Easter. They remind me of my childhood, but they are WAY too sweet for me!
Depends where. Generally they're seasonal for supermarkets as they are more efficient with their ordering - but you can get them in most small shops all year round as they always buy too many. At least that's my experience.
Never felt prouder to be British than when grandma ok goes in for seconds
First time watching one of your videos, absolutely loved it. Interesting and funny, thank you for something so happy in a bad time! Love from Edinburgh, Scotland

Hi! I"m from the UK, so I'm excited to see your gran eat our snacks
The food you called Soreen, it's called Malt Loaf, Soreen is the company that makes it. Normally they come in a much bigger form and you slice them and butter them like bread. I've never seen this smaller version before but it sounds just like the bigger one
I'm so glad your gran liked the snacks, She's usually right about things and she's right about the creme eggs!

when i saw the jammy dodgers it made me miss England ahah, im currently in Beijing so its been a while.
Now this is just about the most adorable little grandma I have ever seen. Zooey also is so cute, I just love the kind of upbent, slight crooked smile/expression on the left side of her mouth. She is cool af. I don't know what it is about Korean people, but I almost always (to this American) find them to be among the coolest, charismatic of foreigners right up there with Aussies/Kiwis. Many years ago while living in the Wash DC area (NYer now) I formed a friendship with a young Korean immigrant dude that could barely speak English (fine considering I could not speak a word of Korean and at least he started picking up English better and better) and we bonded, particularly initially, in an almost completely non verbal manner. I even got to know his family and they were the warmest, kindest of people. I was even able to tolerate his girlfriend, and he mine!!! We hung out, played video games and sports, went to clubs and movies. It remains one of the oddest of friendships I ever had and I so regret losing touch with Mike Han. It is the intelligence and wit, profound wry and satirical sense of humor while remaining totally respectful I believe. That is a rather artful way of communicating, I dig it very much. These videos are addictive too. Subscribed.
Aww, Grandma Ok’s smile at 1:47 was so sweet she is such a wonderful open minded lady🤩🥺💕💜

Absolutely loved watching this as a UK subscriber, I hope you can try some more soon!
Cadbury's is no longer a UK chocolate. It's been Americanised since Kraft took over the brand. It's comparably bitter and dry with a brittle texture unlike the original smooth, creamy and sweet delicacy it was before.
I'm still angry about that! They've completely ruined Cadburys. The first thing they do is change the shape and reduce the cocoa solids.
@@tamsmaria7650 At least Nestle rolled back on the plastic-wrapped Kit Kats after the backlash when they did away with the foil like Philistines.. the foil is an integral part of the Kit Kat unwrapping thumbnail-scribing experience, otherwise it's just a boring wafer bar.
