One of my favourite Noel Gallagher interviews.
Noel is on good form, but it's how much he's geeking out over guitars, amps and pedals.
Les Paul into the WEM and Marshall Valvestate - sound of my youth.
Also the mystery DLBIA chord finally revealed once and for all!

Great interview! Noel was on Rob Brydon's podcast (Noel is a big fan of Would I Lie To You? he said!) which was filmed at his studio too.. He was on top "rock 'n' roll comedian" form trying to impress Rob - you should check that out.

Noel's famous Orange amp is currently owned by an Oasis collector in Mexico. (He also owns Bonehead's sofa from the Definitely Maybe album cover art! Gosh knows how much the postage on that thing was!..)

Great interview/musician nerdgasm of a show. Crazy how he played Knebworth with basically a tuner pedal and feck all else [Edit: Great point Daniel, re Noel's taking a backseat onstage and suppressing his "inner rockstar". I'd describe his stage presence as the epitome of "quiet confidence" - which if anything is amplified by his little bro's peacocking 😆]

Congratulations Spencer and Daniel on your latest great achievement of reaching 100k subscribers. Really enjoy watching your videos, whether it be Oasis/Gallaghers, or hilarious comedy stuff like The Inbetweeners, Bob Mortimer (while on ‘Would I Lie To You?’) and Sean Lock. Your reactions are interesting and the getting or not getting translation/context/understanding, from across the pond is great viewing.
Love the logo on Spencer’s tshirt in this video. Great merch!
Here’s to you breaking the 1 million subscribers barrier soon! Live Forever!!

    Great reaction, here's my 2cents:
    1. Gotta love how down-to-earth he is when surrounded but people who adore music as much as he does.
    2. He butchered DLBIA solo because he's been playing it with Capo 4 for the last decade (it was so weird to see him singing/playing it in standard tuning)
    3. Using two amps wasn't groundbreaking, just uncommon. Most people got a signature guitar (style), a signature amp, a signature string gauge, etc. The fact he would compensate the sound of the Marshall with the WEM tells you how good of an ear he's had even back then)

I bought my first guitar from Johnny Roadhouse in Manchester, just because I knew back then that Noel bought his first from there. It must've been in about 1995-96. It was a black Encore bass and dirt cheap. I used to rehearse at Sankey's Soaps with a band that split up after only a few months. I left the bass in a locker there all locked up and I've never bothered going back to get it. It could be still there for all I know haha.

Lone Star is his studio near King's Cross Station, he lives in maida vale or will soon when it's finished. Noels got so much more about him than Liam, broader range or words is just one. Maybe that's why the celebrity world loves noel but doesn't bother with Liam

Good discusion, not sure why Noel was dragged into it ;)
He does make a good point though, WEM made fantastic amps, i had a Dominator i should never have sold. Pick one up if you ever can, pretty much any model, it'll more than likely still work, and still sound amazing.
The interview makes me laugh though, he tells so many different versions of stories I've heard before, particularly about guitars, to the point where you can't believe anything, which is just kinda how he is.
I do like how he believes particular songs are in certain guitar's, The Edge is another one that follows that philosophy.
Check out a song by Neil Innes called, How Sweet To Be An Idiot, see if it sounds familiar.

It's worth keeping in mind that for every great Oasis gig there were 3 dog sh*t performances. You guys have been exposed to a very limited view of Oasis of mostly epic performances. Not the ones where they were so messed up they couldn't perform and walked off stage or the ones when Liam didn't even turn up or the ones where they just broke down. The reason alone they failed in America was because they only had about 2 decent performances there out of more than 30. They were a hot mess of a band for sure. If you went to one of their great gigs it was a special thing but i went to many of their gigs that were not even approaching acceptable. It wasn't because of cigarettes and alcohol. It was because of drugs and alcohol.
