Been looking at a lot of edifiers reviews for weeks to replace my old speakers. Your reaction at 2:40 made me conclude... that's it! Im buying the 1855db. Cant wait for it to be delivered.
I own the predecessor (R1850DB) and really love them. I just ordered a subwoofer yesterday though because I'd like to have a cleaner and more impactful low-end. Glad to have so many input options and that sub out.
@@samadams219 R1850 is gloss black with square shaped remote, Bluetooth 4.0 and older slightly smaller pre-2020 model, R1855 is a later 2020+ model, matte black, Bluetooth 5.0, integrated amp and thin sleek remote. I just ordered the R1855 set for my PC with Sound Blaster ZX sound-card with optical out, after a lot of research.
Looking for active speakers and so far this the best Edifier review I have watched, now to look around for a good price Dang just realised I have 2 pairs of the Spinnaker in storage.
I receive them today. They are super quality product. The sound is superb! I use them thru optical and Hi-fi TIDAL music. These are for quality music, the soundstage is very good and the level of details. The midbass driver is gorgeus good looking. I buy them brand new with 112 euros :)
@@rumcoffee3067 Hi im planing on buying this speakers i just have 2 questions number 1 this speakers are hifi right? And number 2 how are the speakers for listening to Apple music in losless sound quality? Trough blothouth?
I own these pair and was hearing this video via bluetooth on them. I have never used any other speakers before. So, i really don't know the comparison. But I like the sound quality. I primarily bought it for tv but actually using it with mobile and laptop.
how is the bass on these speakers? i want to buy them and use them to listen only to bass oriented youtube songs ( 144hz songs that helps you study, concentrate etc) Is the low frequencies good enough? thank you sir
@@joselolita it has 60khz on the lower side. You can use it for the purpose you mentioned. I have tried with some specific frequency sounds from youtube and it was fine.
I'm late to the party but nevertheless! Just bought a pair off a nice bloke today! He had everything in the box so I'm thankful. I was sold on this because of your video. Can't wait to try them out

@@GavinsGadgets :The point as I see it is, that these speakers are perfect for my purposes. The quality of sound that they reproduce from all sources is very high quality. I also sometimes use the inbuilt v5 Bluetooth input for music from my phone, laptop or tablet. For the money I paid last November, €139.00, I could not be happier. I’ve noticed some nay sayers and I suppose that I’d just advise them to try out these Edifier R1855DB’s in a hi-fi dealer premises if possible. I guarantee that they’ll be surprised at the quality, the versatility and the value.
It's interesting that they offer a Sub line-Out line if you want it. They do seem ideal as speakers for that wide screen monitor on your table. I have been looking at some speakers from this company and wondering if they were a good idea.
@@GavinsGadgets they look good with your wide-screen monitor. This company do offer a superb package for the price. I had a similar set of speakers for my edit system years ago. But these offer so much more & BT has moved on a lot.
I recently bought the Edifier R1855DB and I'm surprised by its tonal broadness and transparency; especially for that size. I suspect there's some undocumented DSPing going on :) at least for bluetooth? Waiting for the new turntable to arrive.. now I'm wondering if line input would be actually analogue or maybe - if thats the case - its being processed also???
I bought these yesterday and noticed (unfortunately after purchasing) that it's bluetooth - although 5.0 - only supports A2DP. As far as I know, it's like having a brand new Porsche that has enough power to hit 200 MPH, but you can't press the gas pedal hard enough and it only reaches 100 MPH. I live in Brazil and here you could say it's an expensive and premium product so it's a big issue for me. Oddly, Edifier is pretty obscure when it comes to bluetooth audio codecs and overall this connectivity seems overlooked by them (not a problem if they were a little bit clearer about it, as these are superb for wired connectivity). So, if you intend to listen to 'lossless' bluetooth sound - in quotes because A2DP alledgedly reaches 345kbps but in practice reaches only around 255, which for me at least makes it's bluetooth simply useless as we're talking about 1/4 of CD quality here, not enough even for 'vanilla' Spotify (320kbps) - I suggest you go look for other options. Otherwise, just plug the (included, thank you Edifier) p2 cable to your phone and enjoy better sound at the cost of moving around your house.
@@theone7367 but it's more than enough for me to notice, so bluetooth becomes useless unless I'm doing stuff around the house and not paying too much attention to the music
@@GavinsGadgets thanks, i ended up buying it because it's on sale ~120$ here. All i can say is the bass is very tight and punchy also it still sounds very good even on low volume, the mid is abit laid back but still good and clear. It's MASSIVE upgrade from my 30$ desktop speakers 😂😁
these are peaking my interest for TV speakers with a sub attached......OR.... should I go with the s3000Pro's with no sub as my TV speakers...your thoughts people ? thx...cheers from Canada

How I wish you'd tested out the Bluetooth features, as they're super disappointing for the price. SBC only which is just trash audio quality. The Bluetooth standard is completely unimportant if you don't get a decent codec like aptX or LDAC, or even AAC, of which exactly none are supported here. Lesson learnt, never buy a Bluetooth product that doesn't list the codecs it uses, as you're going to be disappointed. Otherwise audio quality isn't bad, but I might as well have bought something without Bluetooth.
Thanks for your feedback. If you watched the video, I’m demoing it via Bluetooth. SBC is on most devices as it offers the widest compatibility, and whilst it’s not ldac etc, it still sounds fine. As you would know, it’s not only possible to connect via Bluetooth, but via a range of wired methods - rca line in x 2, coaxial & optical. Plus the remote control is excellent. This is pretty comprehensive. Going back to my demoing the sound via Bluetooth, there’s nothing trash about the audio quality, in fact it’s sounds pretty good. I use these everyday, and I’m very happy with them.
@@GavinsGadgets I guess you don't really understand the difference between the various Bluetooth codecs, or simply don't care then, which is fine. But for some of us, it matters.
Of course I understand them. This isn’t a solely Bluetooth product either. I guess you don’t appreciate the real world differences either.
