I just ordered these about 6 hours before I saw this video... Spent weeks researching edifier speakers and ended up ordering.. I'm glad I did haha.. cam wait to hear them for myself 😁
@@Cereal_Killr is the Bluetooth always on in them even when not using the Bluetooth connectivity? And how does they sound. I thought about the Swans m10 plus which is not even launched in my country. So interested in R1280BD
@@mohanrajr6466 they are truly awesome man! Bass punches like a subwoofer but it's clean and tight. The highs are crisp and clean but not piercing. I was completely astonished by how good they sound. I used to have the Klipsch pro medias... And these put those to shame! I know those aren't true thoroughbred Klipsch...but still.
@@mohanrajr6466 as for the Bluetooth I'm pretty sure it cuts off when you push the power button on the remote. I use mine on my PC and I just leave them on all the time... So essentially you could have the Bluetooth on all the time.
I got mine a few days ago now. The most important things: • they need 30 to 100 hours till they reach the best sound • they playing much deeper than 60Hz. Even 40Hz is clean and good to hear. • with my Teufel T8 Sub they are insane • if they would have wlan and the base and treble could be adjustet via the remote, they would be perfect Don't get me wrong, but for 170,-€ and this size (can't still believe, this sound comes out of this small cases) they are the most impressive and maybe best speakers you could get. For comparison: the KEF for 1499,- are only better in deep base...😉
I have a question - I'm thinking of buying these speakers after reading this review. I would mainly use them for my TV instead of a soundbar because I assume they are far better than a soundbar. What would you recommend ?
Yes, these speakers are way better than a soundbar. Sourdbars, due to their small size, challenge to reproduce bass. Hence, they are typically paired with a subwoofer. However, those soundbar subwoofers will not be able to reproduce low frequencies (~100 to 250 Hz) and base (~20 to 100 Hz) at the same time. The optical output is perfect for connecting to a TV, and getting the most common codecs: Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, etc... However, to control the speakers volume, you will have either to use the speaker's remote, or use a "smart" TV remote, e.g., LG's Magic Remote.
these are peaking my interest for TV speakers with a sub attached......OR.... should I go with the s3000Pro's with no sub as my TV speakers...your thoughts people ? thx...cheers from Canada
I would stick with the 1855. The 2000 give the same sound but just louder. If you need to go louder than 70watts RMS then I hope you live in an detached house in your own field.
@@reticente2010 I haven’t heard the 2000 model but have read a few reviews that say there is not a lot of difference between them. However I did own the 1700, 1800 and 1000 models and I think the 1855 is a bit of a sweet spot between them all, great value for money overall.
@@reticente2010 I haven’t owned the R2000db but I would guess it’s an older model and looking at the port options for connecting sources, the 1855 is better equipped. The 1855 also haves the better remote control.
R2000DB is better sound wise. In my country, R2000DB's are around 250 euros, while R1855DBs can be found for 150 euros. R2000DB lacks sub out and optical connection (it has coax), but with those, you don't really need a sub.
Just ordered this yesterday with 19% off for 150€ did u have any crackling problems so far or any cons, i have usb bluetooth adapter and sony str de-245 receiver connected to old lga775 motherboard sound card, will it sound clean on both?
Works great on both receiver and bluetooth, really amazing speakers for price loud and clear even on full volume not getting too warm so they have great built-in amp i recommend them
You can use an EQ setting on the pc to increase the bass even more, and play it at a lower volume so that there's no distortion - you wont need a sub like this.
The edifier r1855db only supports SBC bluetooth audio codec and the edifier r1700bts supports Qualcomm aptX HD audio codec, if you want to listen via bluetooth the edifier r1700bts is better quality.
@@luisphillips818 the klipsch the fives are better in everything, to overcome them I would play with the edifier s3000, however the S1000 are an excellent option in hifi res, you can add a T5 if you want more bass.

what is everyones thoughts on the Edifier s3000Pro's as TV speakers vs the R1850DB's with a sub ? thx in advance...cheers from Canada
can you turn off the bluetooth on those speakers or the bluetooth is always on? I dont like bluetooth frequency at all.?
Did you get an answer? Im wondering the same thing.
can i connect to my pc by optical cable only ? thanks.
Hi! Would you recommend these speakers for listening to rock/heavy metal music? Thanks.
i have used them for rock music. (alot of scremo) and they sound amazing
Please tell if these ones are better or should i go for r1280dbs?
These ones are definitely better
Nice video..👍 Which one is better for music and TV.. This one or the R1700BT.
same question....got any answer yet?
With R1700BT, you'll need amplifier to connect Sub-Woofer since it doesn't come with that port. While the R1855DB comes with that port.

Teufel T8

not really. They sound clearer than Magnat Monitor Active 2000 and richer and fuller , but not as clear as Presonus eris e4.5, for example
