    I totally agree 100%.
I’m no longer getting curly cuts as well. My hair seems to thrive more when I get a precise cut vs those curly cuts. Took me years to accept or should say “realization” that curly cut are not for me.

Thank you for speaking out on this situation. The two women that created this curly cut talked about all the RUclips influencers and about how they were spreading incorrect information about natural hair care and that we should stop listening to people that are not professionals. Now they are getting mad because people are questioning the integrity about the curly cut method and they can’t take the heat. They are not behaving like professionals to me. To me, they never behave like professionals, they were very arrogant. What goes around comes around. We as black women are going to have to stop running after things that look good all the time and focus more on the health of our hair. The same way so many of us have lost our edges running after the latest thing. I am so glad you are speaking out on this to let women know the truth. Those uneven haircuts might look good on the outside, but on the inside the hair can be a hot mess as we are finding out.

I think as an influencer, integrity is key. I could never feel good about myself recommending anything that can damage someone’s hair and not say anything about it. I have been getting curly cuts and they are amazing to look at but again health is key, I owed it to anyone that has followed to me live my truth and call out something that I see that looks off. I hope others who are experiencing similar damage also speak up to ensure we can find a solution to what we is happening.

As a curly hair specialist after hearing on this video, it is just really a lack of understanding A dry cut on curly hair is for shaping and Dowling. You can still wet, cut curly hair and trim it but because curly hair has 2 to 5 different textures when you’re wearing it in your Wash N’ Go in order to have a style or a shape it must be done dry it is no different than when. call Kasian cut their hair wet but they style texture and detail it dry so I beg to differ that a dry curly cut somehow damages your hair maybe where you are getting it cut they’re not educating you enough on what is occurring at the time i’ve been a curly hair specialist since 2010. I myself has been curly girl since 1995. I have an extensive list of clients who are still getting their hair dry curly cut and don’t have no issues whatsoever because I educate my client and what we are doing and I maintain healthy hair for them. I appreciate your thoughts and your opinion on it… but it sounds more so like there are a lot of curly specialist who aren’t really curly girl specialist and they’re jumping on the curly bandwagon and do not have a proper education in the curly cuts in order to explain to Client what we’re doing what’s going on where the hair is that and so on.. I am more than willing to answer any questions. I am also a Deva certified

Very interesting. Various other people have been having issues bc of CC's in combo with other trending haircare practices, so it's been a little harder to pinpoint the main source of the trouble, but given that you said the ONLY thing you changed was the cut, and your routine has been otherwise consistent, then I think we can safely say the curly cut was DEFINITELY the source of all your split ends.

When I used to live in Vegas. I had the best stylist out in Henderson, NV(Danielle Green/Radically Curly). She would cut my hair dry to establish the shape I wanted. Then, when it was wet, she would go through and trim errant hairs. It came out amazing every time. Best shape. No split ends. She tailored the cut for each individual that came in. It’s been 9 years and I have not found a stylist who will do this for me where I live now. I’ve learned to cut my own hair.

I would never recommend a curly cut. Especially with 3b and higher hair. Your hair will NEVER curl the same each time. So split ends will always always be missed, it will always be uneven when in a stretched style. Which in turn causes more split ends . I only suggest a wet cut or on stretched / blow dried hair. This will ensure even ends and eliminating all split ends.

I have had some not so good dry "curly hair cuts" over the years. My hair can be cut wet as well and I don't see much of a difference. Ultimately it has to do with the experience of the stylist....knowing how to allow for shrinkage when cutting. Your curls look so healthy and juicy.

The thing is, real cosmetologists know you’re not supposed to cut really curly hair while it’s in its curly state. It’s swollen and you won’t be able to be precise, and it’s gonna look a mess whenever you do decide to straighten it out. Curly hair is supposed to be cut when dry and completely straightened, but naturally straighten/wavy hair is supposed to be cut wet. The hair cannot be in a swollen state when it’s being cut. That whole “diva cut” or “curly cut” is just a scam/trending fad that goes against the science of hair. I would never cut my hair curly again, that was a mistake. Only cut when dry And straightened

I think it’s the unevenness of the cut, rather than split ends. Like you are feeling, they cut to “style” a particular “shape”. Like cutting hedges lol. The shape is achieved at the expense of having even hair. I recently had pretty much half of my hair cut off, from waist length to a little below my shoulders. I know my dead ends are gone. I had healthy hair. However, when wet, my hair is horribly uneven! So many layers, so many unevenly cut sections, to achieve a “shape”. But dry you wouldn’t even know this, because I style curl by curl and it falls back into the shape she cut. I think im done with curly cuts as well, I prefer even, blunt ends and longer, even layers.

My stylist sprays my hair w water, combs it through, and cuts the hair through her fingers while holding it taut. I've always worn wash n gos mostly, but in my teens I did lots of rollersets and blowouts. Now that I wear it short, she cuts it wet or dry, but using the same tension technique. I'm not sure if that's a curly cut, but I haven't had any issues and the shape is great. Your hair is similar to mine as it is straight when its wet. Maybe thats why wet cuts work for us.

Yes, I have. Not sure of your question though? Do you think it has something to do with hair damage?

@SHESOMAJOR mousse has alcohol in it, which is very drying on hair, plus you take that under a hooded dryer.....that adds to the drying of the hair. On top of that, the method says we shouldn't use leave -ins, nor is it necessary to deep condition, plus....the hair is striped of all oils that protect the hair. The hair looks beautiful, but if this method is done long term, it has no chance of staying healthy .
