Arrival from Charlotte (CLT) in an American Airlines A321.
Approach along the East River with beautiful views of Manhattan.
Sites viewed include the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, Central Park, Yankee Stadium, Rikers Island.

Great crisp video! I've flown many arrivals into LGA, on the 72 long ago and on the 75 & 76. Yes, Delta flew the 76, even the -300s back in the late '90s into LGA. Usually RWY13 arrivals fly north up the Hudson and make a right turn on to the 13 approach. Great views of Manhattan and the Bronx. Even spied the 7 train and Yankee Stadium. Keep 'em coming!

@@sarge6870 No! That was Yankee Stadium! And you can see the neighboring ball park on the original site (home plate is on the dirt field).
having grown up in the northwest Bronx and my cousin being a captain for American I have never seen this approach to runway 13.. I sent this video to him. I read the FAA is trying new approach patterns to the NYC airports for Noise reasons.. Great shot, love the stadium, and Isaw my childhood home lol

My first trip to NYC on Business ,,Early 1960,,was on a DC-6B ,,with lounge in back, coming from the west , we flew right over Manhattan, like a tour,,how exciting…the first Day my boss made me take the Boat tour almost around Manhattan, it really had gave me my bearings,,have spent overall years in NYC since that time..1-2 months a year up to early 90s…loved every trip, stayed in good hotels, great food…what a memory …oh that first trip , they started 707 service on our flight back west…and yes we lost an engine over Ohio/Ind,,,they worked on it in Chicago,,and and,,my partners in crime had to force me back on for the balance of the trip…oh lifes memories. I remember flying into New York on twa when one of the two world trade center towers was only half built. And years later how they made New York skyline so powerful and impressive and hopeful. Now they have Freedom Tower that for me as a former NYer looks so gloomy and lost and seems to spread that visual feeling of despair over the entire city so sad they did not just rebuild them 10 feet taller

Yep they totally effed up when they built the tower. They should’ve rebuild them just the way they were just with new technology.

Wow. I’ve NEVER seen this approach and a flyover of Brooklyn and Queens into Westchester with that turn into R13.
In the 90's, I flew out of LaGuardia on an early Sunday morning flight to DFW. I had a window seat. We took off toward the SW, but did a big circle around, that covered most of NYC. Whatever the reason for that route, it gave me a magnificent early morning view of a mostly deserted streets NYC.

They call it the SS LaGuardia simply because the two runways are short (only 7,000 feet long) and surrounded by water.

American Airlines A321 I believe. It was a Charlotte (CLT) to New York (LGA) flight.
I tried and couldn't really see much in or out of LaGuardia out the window. Maybe I was in the wrong part or side of the plane ??🤔 I don't fly often so who knows. I'm always amazed at different views/video/pictures people seem to capture. And it seems like he flew pretty far past the airport only to turn back - I realize there was probably other traffic or whatever but just watching and not being a passenger it seems far. I do, however, remember the lovely "Welcome to New York" sign on the fence near the runway!
