- This is the historic first episode of the brighter shores progression series. In this episode you will see the achievement of a profession cape, lots of high level foraging, alchemy, carpentry a new spell being unlocked a secret monument being built with a entrance shown!
Runescape Creator Andrew Gower reveals new Brighter Shores combat gameplay. Also screenshots that reveal weapon selections, special attacks, carpentry, scout, fishing, mining and merchant. This video took a while to edit and put together with in depth analysis of each image provided with need to know details before the release of Brighter Shores. Please drop it a thumbs up on the video!
About the game:
Brighter Shores is an all new adventure from award winning MMORPG designer Andrew Gower. It is an enchanting point-and-click style RPG with hundreds of hours of gameplay, set in a land of magic and mysteries, with a huge number of professions to try, and something new to find around every corner.
You will discover powerful magic sources and become one of the legendary classes of old: Cryoknight, Guardian or Hammermage. Which is fortunate, because something is corrupting the deepest reaches of the nearby Hopeforest, and only through the strength of your new-found powers will you be able to deal with it.
Timecodes:
No time codes for this one, some hidden information in the video so watch all the way through ;)
Please let me know if you want me to make this into a series by showing support on the video! :D Wonder what is in the monument entrance...
Do it!
Nah this game is bad with no end game and pvp wont save it because combat system has no skill expression
@thomashollenbach3608 it's 4 days into the release, has anyone reached endgame yet?
@ 7000 players quit the game already because its a slave scam game but at least gower got his million
@@thomashollenbach3608 Gower got about £70 million from selling RuneScape 😂
Loving it. Enjoyed your style mate. Made me chuckle while being relaxing. Keep it up.
Glad you enjoyed
im here for the whole series lets go
Massive fan man. Followed your content through release. Thanks for keeping us up to date and huge congrats on the cape.
I am thinking about going for fishing cape. Cheers!
I love foraging but im on the carpentry grind right now to improve banking. I'm at 31 almost 32 🙏
That is the perfect combo so you can make your own poles for the weapons on blacksmithing. You will profit a lot if you stick with that till trading releases
@@BrighterShoresCentral Nobody will have a reason to trade any thing dude. What the fuck are we going to trade? A weapon that will be optuse in 5 levels? Are you daft lad? Also you have like 10 bank spaces. Then you'll buy a nice weapon, go to the next episode, boom its useless because you tuned it to a different episode. Thats crazy dude. The most empty, meaningless game I've played in a while.
@BrighterShoresCentral I had fun running around grinding my level 50 forager with you! It was a great bit of fun my name is Urn in game. Grats again!
Hey thanks! Was nice to meet you in game and gz on level 50 :) have you sorted out the lvl32 carp spell yet?
@@BrighterShoresCentral Bro it was a blast! I finally got it yes sir, now im getting my 50 alchemy today!
Ran into you today, it made me feel so happy haha.
Been watching you for months!
Keep doing what you arr doing brother, we appreciate it!
Man, what dedication :). So far I like crenopolis atmosphere the most but I'm still not sure what skill to focus on, in terms of meta progression chef and potion making seem the most impactfull. And I don't know if it is worth starting to push a skill a bit for snowballing with offline training and knowledge or staying on quests which should take a big while.
I would just focus on the skills you have more fun with. But yes alchemy seems incredibly useful and worth focusing on
i went chef im almost lvl 39 right now. i have 700 plus silver and still have 600 plus more silver worth of goods in my storage for chef lolol. chef is money money money. cant wait to get to 50 and start the carp grind!
Wow thats awesome! how much silver would you say you make an hour at level 39 from chef? would be interested to know.
@@BrighterShoresCentral it not crazy but its a 2x your money every time you cook mixed veggies. I havnt really timed it by hour. but its 18 silver for 24 app stews, and it takes about 2 mins to chop them and then 2 mins to cook it so about 4 mins total lol for 18 silver. so say its 5 mins for 18 just. roughly 200 silver hour?
but you gotta pay so you only really make 100 silver cuz you are x2 ing by selling. (edit)
Whats the carp grind and is it good?
gz for the cape! please make more videos of your progress it was a fun watch
Cooking veggy stews is good profit at level 8 cook. Like 5 silver for full invetory which the 24 stews end up selling for 11 silver 500 copper
Monument needs 490 foraging to finish anyways lol. (for the last stone type)
I don't think people realize how much grinding you need to do starting from lvl 20.. and many of the unlocks are passive/logout methods, which are all horrible xp, only good for when you have to log off/afk for tiny gains
Loving this game haven't been able to put it down. Just finished the grind to get the storage rift spell to deposit items at set locations. Gonna make getting the rest of my foraging and alchemy skills higher easier.
Yeah that spell is so incredibly useful! Thanks for the support on the videos and good luck with the grind.
How do you get that spell? :o
@@C_Engineer The spider's quest in episode 2. You'll need 20 wc and 32 carpentry.
Watching this all the way
*eats tea*
Great vid 🎉🎉 very useful..i feel so behind though, sill in act 1, having a full time job sucks 😂
Don't worry man, the episode professions are interconnected with each other, you can only make potions in episode 1, cooking and others need better work with connecting things because quite useless now but yah its early access, so yah you will see people in old episodes also so its not going to be empty like in most mmo games.
@Krahamus quite reassuring 😁
Really enjoyed this video, and seeing you go for a different grind rather than questing / combat - actually utilising skills was nice to see
Glad you enjoyed! just felt the most useful and what i had fun with
Loved the vid! Starting my 2nd character now (Got my first to chapter 3). Grinding up my accounts while it's still EA :D
I'm liking it. A bit of a grind but least no mtx. I just hit the mines and going for minefighter cape, looks sick. Nice player path you did. I for one been slacking on anything not combat and not needed to progress quests lol. What can I say I like killing things. See you in there friend.
What's the best way to level past 20? Level 20 onwards feels like hitting a brick wall.
some of the nodes once you push past that give better experience dont worry
@ The question is, do I literally have to keep grinding the highest level stuff I have unlocked? Eels, pufferfish, lilies, monument pieces, etc until I level up? Or am I missing something?
Also, do you chug xp potions every 2 minutes to permanently keep an xp boost active?
yea okay THIS is the series I wanted
Thanks :D
Congrats on the cape dude, saw you running around last night.. then find you here 😂subbed brother.
Thanks man! Feel free to say hi in game :)
6:12 Easy to miss, first one repairs the stairs.
Yes make a series.
Hey so first off grats on the cape and great commentary on the video.
I did have one...question? Mostly just wanting to hear your opinion but as I'm a Free to play player, would you say it's perfectly fine to focus on just the first 2 acts that are free and work within those, levelling up their professions and doing sidequests?
Or would you say it's better to pay and get through Episodes 3-4 before grinding out anything else (besides what's required to progress of course)?
I do understand that each episode has a total level you need to enter so I'll be sure to get those up before thinking about Episode 3 but I was just curious on what the best step was once I do get to that point.
Hey good question,
I think that its perfectly fine to just grind out episodes 1 and 2 content and you'll still earn lots of silver and make progress without needing to buy membership. If anything focusing on set professions will help you get silver easier because higher level nodes give more silver.
However, the mine of mantuban crafting skills are quite useful.
Membership is very cheap at only $6. If you're unsure still, give it a few more days of acts 1 and 2, but know that the game opens up at 3 and 4. If you're enjoying it, might as well buy.
@@Liquid_Rage Oh for sure I definitely do plan on paying either way. I just didn't want to spend for the premium content and then end up spending 70%+ of it in Episodes 1 and 2 before really diving into 3 and 4 so I was just curious if it would be good to grind the first 2 acts or if I would be wasting time not getting to ep 3-4 earlier.
@@BrighterShoresCentral Gotcha. I think that's what I'll end up doing. I'll tackle sidequests in ep 1-2 while getting professions up to a certain point and then go from there.
@@Liquid_Rage 6$ for a dead game thats already dead on arrival on its initial early acces playtest is criminal. There is literally no goal in this game nothing to do. Who releases a game in this state like what the fuck.
Cute cape bro
Let's go!!!!!
Can you explain afk training for some skills? For example cooking afk activity at 20 requires a fish? "Common cap" i think. Does that mean we need to fish/buy a huge amount of that fish to afk train cooking? Is that where the baskets/crates come into play? Do the fish need to be in inventory or in the cooking storage during afk train?
Im not sure on the afk ability for fish or cook but i know for alchemy all you need is say 10 potion ingredients for the afk and should last you overnight. You don't have to mass stock, i went a bit wild buying all those buckets haha
Each item slot is worth about 1 hour afk.
forage gets you bait(also potion ingredients), which you can use for fishing, which can be used for cooking. It's very tiny amount of xp though(maybe 1.5k/hour for the lvl 20 ones).
You can buy the bait/fish directly, but it's like 3 silver per stack?
Oh and you need bucket, sack, casket etc for these afk activities.
some gives or requires no items(like combat, or potion making ones) you also need to get 100% knowledge bar first to unlock each one(start when you get your first lvl 20 skill)
Simscape looks promising
Loving the game
Fun video
I saw you running around the apothecary in hopeport the other day!
Haha! That's awesome
@@BrighterShoresCentral tbh I didn't even know of your channel but I saw the name and thought that it's perfect for a youtuber lol. Came across this video and my mind was blown and I instantly subbed. I sent a friend request from AD80, no worries if you don't accept of course :)
Let's goooooo!
On that grind
Were you running back every inventory with the stuff from the forest!?!?
yeah those nodes are in hope port took forever...till i realised the spell.
Legend? yes. Attentionspam... I am playing the game wile lisening to you ofc. XD
Haha nice! You watched the full video if you heard that comment i made. Thanks for watching!
Whats the story with the names? Can people have the same name but with a different #?
you get a # but when you get premium you reserve the name fully
What's the point of cape? I got Guards cape.. It has no stats...
It's just an accessory for achievement, similar to RuneScape capes
@@Krahamus Runescape skill capes came with passives though, so there was still a reason to wear them once you got a skill to lvl 99.
@@exzos9119 Well maybe it will in future, in other episodes or something new added, its still early access
@@exzos9119Do you know how many times it has been said that this game ISN'T runescape ? Plenty of time, before launch. That's not Runescape 2.0
This game keeps disappointing..
Let be grateful this wasnt implemented into osrs
Do I need to sub to make this game worth playing? I don’t wanna pay another game subscription but I guess I will if it’s worth it. I’m like 50 total almost to zone 2.
Everyone's experience playing this game:
:D WOW This game is so awesome why does it have so many bad reviews?
Chapter 2 begins: Oh.... oooooooohhh noooooooo.
For those who want the context expand this message because it's a spoiler
Chapter 2 resets all your gear and stats so you have to start over with the region's stats and equipment. It's a far worse designed area which requires you to get all the way up to 35 carpentry (that area's alchemy) in order to unlock the ability to bank your items within the chapter. That means every time you pick up a random item you have teleport all the way back to hopeport, and it's as miserable as it sounds. Not only that but the requirements for woodcutting raise faster than that of carpentry so your stats very quickly fall out of sync meaning you need way more woodcutting levels to get an equal amount of carpentry. Unlike Chapter 1, getting carpentry up requires you spend your money in order for the stat to keep up.
The one thing that sums up just how bad the area is: the lumber bank is in the carpentry area and the carpentry bank is in the forestry area. For no reason. It's awful. And to make things even worse, there are parts of that map that you're flat out locked out of until you complete a 5-star quest, one that requires over level 50 stats. Yeah, have fun. I'm not sure if chapter 3 is any better because it's locked behind a paywall but if it's anything like the jump from 1 to 2, i'm not interesting in paying to find out.
EDIT: I can see why you enjoyed your time grinding the remote spell, because you were making money from chapter 1 and buying your way to the stat. Getting there DIY is absolute pain.
i find it weird that Forager and Gatherer are two different professions especially when you're doing the same thing :( weird.
they really wanted each zone to be it's own thing, and to require no prior skill to get anything .
@@jawstrock2215 yeah, i suppose, maybe it's something i need to get used to, i'm just really reluctant because the grind is pointless when it doesn't carry over, same with gear :( there's identical skills in other episodes just called something different, it's hard for me personally to stay motivated, i find it's poor repetitive design without any usefulness to the player, just more of the same really.
they could give the player some functionality for example making the Scout skill the Ranged Combat skill of the game that could be used in all acts, Guard could be the "defence" skill for example.
These profession structures are under heavy negative feedback currently, hopefully they're subject to change :( i don't think starting from zero so often will make a playerbase who sticks around for the game.
@@projectbonsai8538 I don't mind the starting over at 0 in each act personally. I actually mind more that carpentry from act 2, is almost exclusively used to make stuff for act 3, I think it should have been the other way around.(act 3 help support act 1 and 2, etc, not forward).
I would like for it to auto switch gear between acts.(without quartermaster spell)
That, and your combat skills resetting. Like you can make the gathering skills different but to let me train from level 0 and start again naked is actually braindead. Especially considering "Episode 1" took a day to play through. Trash game.
@@Yes-sw8gh yeah, i feel you, i read andrews explanation where he mentioned that the idea behind it is that new players don't have to grind as much to get to new content but...
((don't they have to grind through multiple episodes in order to get to the latest content anyway))
, so it's not really any different as it would normally be, i find andrews explanation of this a bit strange considering this, if anything, new players have to grind even more than normally in order to get to the new content now :(
We need mobile im tired of working so much i cant play D=
good vid, shame about the cape
Cheers! yeah curious to see what the upgraded cape is like in game at level 100
10 years of development to release this dumpster fire is fking wild.
Absolutely insane to see them drop a garbage can like this when indie games make a better game in 3 months in their dad's basement.
Nuts.
its not a 10 year game, how about you go look before you scream ignorantly. i agree the game is bad but this is not a 10 year project, the engine was.
Working on a game engine does not mean working on a game lol
This is a troll comment lol
@@7ehNP The only troll comments here are by people like you, defending this absolute piece of shit trash game.
Has anyone started clans yet?
Not yet but i might start one for subs
I went to watch this video after I got to Episode 4, but couldn't...Because it just made me realize how 10000% linear the game is. There's zero nuance. You did exactly what I and everybody else did almost in the same order....This game needs a LOT of work.
can i slightly innapropriately touch your 4th to the left eyelash on your right eye?
its fine if not
i wont be upset, i promise
Games full of no lives lol
P2W wall restrictions . DONT WASTE YOUR TIME .
Nice try Raid Shadow Legends 2.0
one thing i will say, this channel will never have a raid shadow legends sponsor LOL
@ but it looks like it
He traded Runescape for this?
Sad
Nah this game is so ass lmao
Games dog poo
this game is so boring
Probably the only complaint I have. The grind is so freaking boring. This is such a cut video .
Yea the games Sucks crap.
Yea im alredy addicted and its jsut early acces. ITs far from finished. Was waiting for +10 years for a game that has 0 mtx.
The dont play it and keep your useless comments to yourself instead of hating on an EA title
Looks like runescape from wish
Okay?
I don’t know why you people are so vocal about your hatred for the game. This game is made by a small group of devs and it is in early access, it is not RuneScape. Why can’t you simply state your opinion of the game on a video where the topic of your opinion has actually been brought up, and then move on with your life and let people who do enjoy playing the game play the game. You feel the constant need to shove your hatred for this game in peoples faces, but why?
@@jensv874 "Has 0 MTX" You have to pay to play the full game, that is the definition of MTX.
