Armada Fans Are Eating GOOD | #transformers Legacy Armada Optimus Prime and SG Sideswipe
My only gripe is that the trailer is missing the gimmick of exploding into a ball of fire.
Im working on a 3p kit for that. right now its just a lighter and some lighter fluid.

Base robot Optimus actually has a pseudo ab crunch, you can use the shoulder joints that form his abs to make him bend forward a bit

I really hope minicons make a proper comeback cause I grew up on Armada but I never managed to get preceptor and when I saw Armada showing up in legacy I got hopeful before remembering how micromasters flopped but now Hasbro seems to be trying again and I really wanna see minicon combiner teams like the old days
I hope they sell the Perceptor team as a deluxe or something
There’s a new Hot Shot with Jolt so I’d say minicons are back
@@troyannozaurus327 yeah I honestly like these slightly more expensive box sets of repaints, Minicons, and a small handful of other accessories. The fact is that properly engineered Minicons can’t really work into a modern deluxe budget, as shown with the extremely simplistic Targetmasters we got out of Legacy, so I think this new method is a good workaround

Never got preceptor as a kid but I've been buying all of them on eBay. Have armada complete unless you count the roll play toys. Also getting the recolors of the same mold that appear in energon and cybertron
The waist being mistransformed in the combined mode is giving my OCD a run for its money 💀
I really hope they'll do Red Alert, Cyclonus and Demolisher before they stop doing Armada stuff. We at least need the original cast in figure form before they move on from Armada.
Hey, you're meant to shift the headlights back in for the super mode- like how the headlights are in vehicle mode. It makes a big difference.
It seems like everyone slightly mistransforms the supermode at the waist and it bothers me SO much
The headlight sections are supposed to shift inwards and fill in those little gaps, making the whole thing flush, but it seems like EVERYONE misses that step. Even the official product photography misses it

The fact that they include wheeljacks minicon despite not even being in the show, but not even one for the commander figure is baffling

God I hope they come out with an Overload
I got this guys yesterday. I had pre-ordered it in anger back in April when Patriot Prime put it up as an affiliated link and then forgot I pre-ordered it. Cut to this month I had finally found a Motormaster for $90 picked it up got it on the weekend and was so happy then on Tuesday I received a package from Amazon I was confused and opened it to fin Armada Optimus Prime. I checked my account and that was when I realized “oh ya I pre-ordered it didn’t I.” So getting to both complete my Menasor and get a surprise Armada Prime was really awesome. I do have one complaints on my copy one of the legs hinge and peg system is tight. To where I have to apply a lot of pressure just to move it. The other one moves fine, but Transforming the legs back to it trailer mode is a scary experience that I hope loosens over time. It’s not as bad as Kingdom Megatron where I don’t want to Transformer him, but it is concurring. I will say I think the hands are fine anything more complicated and they would’ve had to make this a Haslab project and I wouldn’t have been happy about that plus it’s either visible combiner hands or a transformation that is the successor of ROTF Mixmaster
I grew up with armada, and I hope I get that bad boy when it comes to toys r us around here

@@JetStream_Mann yeah, Europe got it different, we just don't have the stores I want. Do you know how hard it is to get a decent model kit in Poland, Warhammer minis are nearly nonexistent and gundams are scarcely available

I would genuinely be happy if they started selling minicons for a dollar, and it came with extra accessories for the abilities they unlocked, or even including blast effects, maybe even some with ENTIRELY new molds!!

Rhinox's knee locks don't work on my copy either, so maybe it's a common problem
I'm loving how absolutely hyper you were for this, it's amazing to see such joy the right toy can bring.
The combined mode was absolutely a HUGE selling point for any Armada Optimus Prime, but the sad thing though, in the show, he rarely combined with his trailer and once Jetfire showed up, nearly every fight those two would be combining together.
i just used a red gundam marker on my prime's eyes, he looks great
My first copy had an issue where the left hand of the supermode split in 2 and the screw was damaged, so i got a second copy, which had good hands but other problems. The second one's roof piece is loose and the core robot's chest doesn't wanna peg in.
All on all i'm still in love with this figure

@@Saiyan1229 A good copy is 100% worth the price, more than any other commander. The figure's so good that this person is able to overlook those problems- which is a testament to how great it is.

It's a shame Hasbro quit with micromasters and all that right before Legacy. Idgaf about some random purple car dude, but after seeing SG Sideswipe's minicon compared to my original Armada Wheeljack's, I'd buy new Armada Minicons like they were going out of style.
Sales for the WFC Trilogy micromasters didn't sell well, thus some of them were shelf/pegwarmers. HasTak knew this and shifted to Core Class, which everyone wanted more than the micromasters. Even if the Armada minicons got updated, they don't want them to share the same fate as before.

I can’t wait for overload and and jetfire to be released. The legacy trailer already has a connection on the back that’s completely useless for this single figure.
I love my copy of Armada optimus but on my copy sadly the right shoulder rachet joint failed. It still holds a pose but the rachet is broken somehow. Also sadly with the way the arm assembly is pinned it's hard to get at the joint to fix it. So I posed it and left it alone now.
no way! mine has the same issue, I thought I was the only one but I honestly didn't even notice at first until I was messing with it after a few transformations. Is it specifically the joint where the pauldron/shoulder connects to the body?

I was 18/19 when Armada came out and I looooooooved it. The entire Unicron Trilogy was my jam. I’ve made a pact with myself to only get Optimus figures (I just got this guy yesterday)… But I may end up getting every Armada related figure. At least Autobots….

As for Armada Optimus, this may be my TF of the year. His only flaw is the fiddliness of how to deal with his backpack when combining with his trailerpants.
Been sleeping on a lot of Commander Class, but got Rodimus earlier in the year. Good core robot, but not the most fun to transform, and the trailer is unnecessarily oversized. Hasbro definitely got it right with this long awaited update and the upcoming Ultra Magnus. Really want Hasbro to update Overload for this guy as it added so much in both presence, and epic firepower to the original. Also yes please to a Legacy Energon Prime. The actual design is pretty cool, was just poorly realized with the original toy.
rodimus is the weakest commander imo (its close with sky lynx) I keep hot rod in my main display and just have rodimus in vehicle mode 24/7. my biggest complaint is the head articulation the collar takes away any hope of it looking anywhere but straight forward and looking good

So hyped for Tidal Wave. As a kid, i got out of collecting figures as Armada dropped/after Beast Wars which sucked. Its great to have a chance to collect a better version of the figures. I am dying to see an updated version of Jetfire (sucks that i recently scooped commander class if they do), Red Alert and Sideways. Also Ruination deserves more love. Feel like he'll be the next combiner since RID is cycling around supposedly.

So happy that Hasbro are releasing Armada remakes this year, but its a shame that except for one they don't have mini-cons. Hope we will get a Mini-Con multi pack at some stage.
I hope that they make a Jetfire and overload. Also a good remake of Cybertron prime because the siege Magnus mold sucks. Also I love how he opened the combined mode hands because that is the first sequence in the show
I'm not a collector, but when I heard about this I thought, God I need it, and after a little bit of searching because in Spain is not very easy to find this figures I bought it. Now I'm waiting for a Jetfire figure
LegArmada Prime's really cool, once I get a copy I'll definitely try to pull an SS'86 Ironhide style mod and divide up the super mode front skirt into separate pieces that can move individually. That and maybe separate the super mode fingers.

I just got Armada Prime.
I am not an Armada-series fan, tbh. It just wasn't my deal. That said I think this may be the best super-robot that Hasbro/Takara has done. Maybe ever. The posability of the super-robot Optimus is just amazing. Articulation standards have really reached a peak from which I am not sure there's a place to improve without having to sacrifice cost, playability, or both.

I think Armada Optimus is my favorite design. I grow bored with the G1 style design with the windowtits and stuff. This Prime feels more like a warrior and Garry Chalk made for a perfect voice. Peter Cullen is classic, but he feels too somber these days compared to the energy of UT Optimus.
I think the Triggerhappy shoulders are fine on Armada Prime since the arms are spaced away from his head enough that hey don't impact the mobility
Me on my way to the comments to say that he mistransformed the bottom part of the supermode torso.
For anyone who dislikes the super mode's eyes being yellow instead of red, the eyes are attached to the back of the head, not the front. If you unscrew the back of his head, the front can detach, giving you plenty of room to paint the eyes red!

Powerlinx was a GREAT concept, just horribly executed in Energon. I'd love to see a modern take on it.
a really neat little detail that i found about the core robot that i havnt seen anyone else talk about is there are MiniCon insignia on the underside of the back skirt. just thought that was a need thing to include.

I haven't finished watching Armada but I do have this figure. It is amazing! And his super mode is great, he is in his super mode on the shelf right now. Some people will say it is overpriced but with what he does, it is totally worth it.
We definitely need a powerlinx and nemesis prime repaint also
That SG Sideswipe is half-assed. They could even be bothered to do accurate legs or roof/windshield/doors pieces. No gull wing doors to recreate what his Mini-Con gimmick was. The leaked upcoming Armada Wheeljack is gonna suck.

Finally got this, I had the original as a kid and love this, only complaint I kinda have is both robot modes are great and can't display both lol. Bring on MAGMATRON!
I spotted this early on at a generous (by aud standards) discount and grabbed him in a heartbeat, and have not regretted it in the slightest
The only real ways I could see improvement in this would be adding the missle pods the original truck mode had, fully possible hands with better 5mm ports, minicon ports, a bigger gun, a star saber as it is seen on the show, a requiem blaster, and a sky boom shield. Any further improvements could be implemented after they give us an overload and jetfire to go with him
I actually just picked this guy up too, I actually found going through with a hobby knife on the nubs where it was removed from the mold did wonders to help keep is legs together in robot mode! I think the tolerances are just super tight on this guy and that extra bit of clean up helped sooooooooo much.

Little surprised there was no mention of the sign of a possible Armada Overload to be made, with the fact there is a Peg Hole in the Armada Trailer in the perfect location for an Overload to connect.
