That's why i started buying Authentics Alpha series. I got Wheeljack which looks amazing and i also have Megatron. They have some hollow spaces in the legs but they cost less than 20$ each and i like em.
I had no intention of getting the Stunticons... but after seeing a couple images of Dragstrip, I just fell in love. He seriously gives off that "punk street outlaw" feel, with his visor and his twin pistols. I'll be getting as many of them as I can. Besides, they have Earth modes and my Decepticon army is a tad bit lacking in comparison to my Autobot army.
While Bulkhead takes obvious cues from his Prime incarnation, I think this Legacy toy is actually based on his Animated version; based mostly on him transforming into a military vehicle, rather than an SUV. I hope this is the case, and that we might get some Animated inspired designs in the future. Sentinel Prime, for example.
I did NOT expect James May to cameo in this video, but you did it! XD Skids is my favorite here. He does have issues, MOSTLY with paint IMO. If they colored him lighter, painted his rear bumper black as well as his rear, side windows, taillights and the backs of his thighs I think it would be closer to perfect...for ME. I did buy fillers for his legs and did a bit of touch up paint. I had no issues with the 5mm pegs for his arms myself so maybe I got lucky.
It's really weird just how MANY Transformers we're getting in the next few years. With Legacy, Velocitron, SS 86 and the Wreckers, we're getting basically 2 and a half lines worth of characters. 4 and a half if you count Selects separately. That shit is INSANE. Edit: Tarantulas and Cosmos better be baller
3:00 the transparent yellow piece clearly has big tabs going through the black body though? So I dont see how that could be the case. The mold for the yellow part, as it exists in the final retail version of the toy, would never be able to open? And yet, there's a spring there...

I never knew you could do that with kickback's weapon. That actually made me like the figure a whole lot more. Definitely the best energon accessory from the first wave
3:00 ok now that these toys have finally be released in Australia and I have kickback in hand, I've found something very interesting. What you're seeing as springs looks very different on my copy of the toy. Those could plausibly be springs on yours, like it appears to be one structure coiled around another. But on mine, its very clearly a pin with a series of parallel ridges on it (similar to the pin used in lego keychains if you've ever taken one of those apart.), its one structure. Nevertheless, there remains the issue of the tabs on the yellow piece, and slots on the black piece, that mean this assembly with these molds could never potentially have opened. I wonder if you have a transitional state here, and there's a third variant without those tabs/slots.
Considering Hound in the movies was called bulkhead in one of the movie toy lines I believe, I can see where they would get that, though I may be mis-remembering that

I really like the concept of taking new characters and putting them through the g1 filter. One thing I noticed is when they did the same thing with Barricade, I didn't see as much complaining as I see with Arcee and Bulkhead. While I understand the problems, I hope this complaining doesn't discourage Hasbro since I would love to see G1 takes on Nitro Zeus, Lockdown, Lugnut, most of the Prime Decepticons, and others I can't think of right now.
Other than Bulkhead and Arcee, they all look fantastic! I really love Dragstrip, definitely the standout of the wave imo. Hopefully the other Stunticons look as good.

My headcanon for Bulkhead is that he found a way to slim down a bit so he can be a little more useful on the battlefield. (Particularly in the “slightly less massive of a target” way.)

It's really weird to see how Legacy started off. Skids and an Insecticon? A G1 Bulkhead? Really weird choices. I loved Legacy the moment I got Bulkhead in my hands, and it's still going great today. It was really weird at first, but today I'm like "oh wow a new toy of a random obscure character lol". Not saying it's bad, but I got used to it and that's kinda sad considering that the surprise factor was the focus of this line. We will still get surprises, I'm sure of that, but I will not be as surprised as before
Honestly, to me Legacy wave 1 is a huge let down: -Kickback is extremely boring -G1 Skids is an absolute nobody, he appeared for something like 40 seconds in the original cartoon as a background character (IDW Skids, on the other hand...) -Prime characters are an insult... this is not giving a new take on existing characters, this is taking an OLD take on existing characters! They took elaborate, organic designs from 2010 and turned them in a pile of boxes from 1985. Honestly the only figure from Legacy wave 1 that is really interesting is Iguanus.
@@wheelrunner4 I'm kinda thorn on this one: as an individual figure it looks good, which is hard for yellow figures (to me, working with yellow is alway a hazard, sometimes the color is so bright you lose all the details) even though I would have preferred a different take, rather than G1 see Animated), HOWEVER, I hate what it leads to... I think that Menasor is the worst combiner ever (aside from that crappy Energon Grimlock-Swoom combination), that and the fact that this means that we won't have a Prime inspired Breakdown really angers me, especially if you consider that: a) in Legacy we have Bulhead, aka Breakdown rival b) in legacy we will have Knockout, aka Breakdown partner c) Prime Breakdow is actually a character with a role in Prime, character development and has pretty much never seen an official release on the western market while G1 Breakdown is a dude who is famous for.... clinging to the leg of a dude... So, TLDR, as a figure, Dragstrip is fine and achieved the goal of being yellow and being more than an indistinct blob BUT I hate that it will bring back G1 Menasor. Yeah, really not excited for that one...

Yes and no. If the leaks are true Legacy is gonna have some good figures, and I'm looking forward to the Stunticons, but if Bulkhead and Arcee are anything to go by the versions from shows that aren't G1 are gonna be meh and not look how they were in the show. Which is what everyone who wanted the designs from other non G1 shows wanted.
Late to the party and wasn't even aware of most of these until trying to find a Kingdom Prime on Amazon one day. Wasn't too hyped about Bulkhead, but out of the entire wave looked to be the most fun out of the lot. Wasn't disappointed. Great articulation, solid feel, and weapons inclusion. Alt mode is decent, but wheels not being pinned do not roll the smoothest. Though Hasbro went for the Prime character this being a 6 wheeled military transport with a similar built in bot mode feels much closer in spirit to the animated version than the concept SUV he was in Prime. Only other release I'm interested in getting is Blaster, as he's straight up G1, and the closest I have to that is hilariously is the Voyager retooled Soundwave originally a deluxe in I think War of Cybertron or was that the second game? Also really glad they reissued Galvatron in this Wave as never got the Kingdom release or whichever it was.
Just a minor note regarding Kickback. The part formed by the swords is the abdomen, the thorax is the primary segment where the limbs attach. Head/thorax/abdomen, front to back. Also serious thanks for showing that the swords plug in there, I was about to toss them!
Prime Universe Bulkhead is growing on me, I gotta say. I already own First Edition Bulkhead, and I don't really NEED another one. I'm also ALWAYS saying I want Hasbro to take risks on character designs instead of always doing G1 cartoon accuracy, so I guess I got exactly what I asked for, despite my initial disappointment that he's not Prime-accurate. I'm also really looking forward to the Mini-Cons and whatever Bulkhead gets retooled into (Optimus and movie Hound?) Will be pretty hilarious if the "Earth mode Hound" people have been clamoring for ends up being movie Hound too
In my opinion, this is a great start to Legacy. Anybody expecting Hasbro to change the aesthetic of each figure to match the media they came from was setting themselves up to be letdown. The energon weapons are a fun edition that are a nice nod to Energon, similar to the Mini-Con ports to Armada. This line is finally putting the “S” in “Generations”, with the reveals and leaks confirming a mix of G1/2, BW, UT, and Aligned Continuity. Another nice touch is bringing combiners back, I just think there would’ve been more excitement for a more popular character than Menasor, though the choice makes sense since his CW figure was definitely the worst of the bunch. In conclusion, too many people are comparing this to the WFC Trilogy based on the first wave, and even if Legacy doesn’t hold up in the long run it’s still shaping up to be great on it’s own. I seriously hope it continues past It’s first year, seeing how plans for this being a trilogy with the first part called “Evolution” has been cancelled.
I was fine with the legacy bulkhead since I know bulkhead is a fan loved character so in the future there will eventually be a prime accurate bulkhead and I'm fine with waiting becuase wfc is about g1 designs
I got Legacy Blaster and he’s a banger! He’s transformation is unique and I just realised That Toy Guy forgot to flip the legs panels for the side of the Getto Blaster Boombox. He’s so fun to play and he even comes with his cassette Eject! I know, transparent parts are fragile. But,when I transform Blaster, I would ALWAYS transform Eject with Blaster. My next target is Legacy Kickback and Bombshell. I already have shrapnel and he’s also a cool figure! He looks more like a stag beetle then a grasshopper that has visible limbs from the robot mode. I don’t mind getting Kickback but I do wish that they put more effort on Bombshell in the upcoming Legacy wave! But for now, I will wait for Bombshell THEN I will buy Kickback and Bombahell. But overall, Legacy Blaster is fun to hold, fun to play with and easy to transform. This is just my opinion, don’t get mad at me for liking Blaster like “UGHHGhHHhHyhygYug SoUnDwAvE iS bEtTeR tHaN bLaStEr!1!1!!1”.
Seeing those minicon ports on bulkhead gives me high hopes for a new demolishor and blackout from Armada. My favorite Cons, maybe even some updated minicon teams like the land military team, the star saber, and such. I have Big hype for this line going forward. Also that dragstrip looks superb
Gotta be honest I was in the bulkhead hate group, but when people finnally got him in hand and started taking better pics of him. And when I got him. He's definitely my favorite mainline fig I got in a while. Legacy line is definitely a line I'm looking forward to
A reason I kinda hate Menacor's design, is that in some toys, the leg cars go in the back of the legs, so you can't really see them and they might as well not be there, there's no difference. I hope they do the Legacy one like your Magic Square one.
That war for Cybertron figures was really cool I hated the way they added those war-torn paint apps. I got Mr.Color leveling thinner and some wooden cotton swabs and I took off all of those paint apps that I didn't like even those that tried to mimic the shattered glass crap. Don't get me wrong I do like the comics for it but Hasbro is very cheap with its paint apps and they think it's out of this world better than 3rd party stuff. This stuff didn't ruin the plastic either I just would rub some off then wash it off then let it dry and after a couple of days, I work on the harder stuff until it's all gone. I do need me some Pipes tho got to find him.
I DO have the FE Prime Bulkhead…. and I love Legacy Bulkhead. Like, TO DEATH. In my opinion, FE Bulk is more about show accuracy, but honestly? It’s not as fun as a toy. Like, honestly. FE Bulk reminds me of a MP toy, in that as far as poseable show accurate look, it’s got that and more. Masterful engineering in the transformation, check. But… it’s not as fun. If anything it’s kinda fragile. L-Bulk on the other hand; that thing is designed to be PLAYED with. Like, it’s got multiple weapons, it’s got all sorts of ports for compatibility; FE Bulk has his mace you can plug onto the end of his arm or on the back of his vehicle mode like a giant butt pimple, with no way to store it anywhere else. Much like a lot of modern MPs tbh. So. Yeah, FE Bulk is A+ for show-accuracy, Le Bulk is for playability.
I like your different takes on each figure. Personally Hasbro's transformers line has gone downhill too much that I am probably not getting any of their figures much anymore. So it's refreshing to see your thoughts on each figure. To add to what you said about Kickback, yes he is very simple and i think that works. It totally doesn't compromise either mode. Better than say Blitzwing. Oh dear... If you could get your hands on First edition Bulkhead, please do. It's hands down one of the best Transformers ever made 😊 Other than that, Legacy Bulkhead is alright and one of the better figures from this lineup
Legacy to me will be good, wave 1 was just a rough start for the line. Waves 2 and 3 will for sure be the best two in the first line, quite a lot of great characters getting long awaited figures.
Legacy line is doing great so far!Love what they had done..have 3 out of 5 stunticons & they are epic solid figures! I think siege,earthrise,kingdom,86 and now legacy have a good amount of figures.Not all are perfect but acceptable solid FUN figures to enjoy. I think they have improve so much from POTP,TITAN RETURNS & UW/CW.That was abit of a hit and miss i would say..

Only have Skids, Bulkhead, and Blaster so far. But I love them all. Only other one I'm planning on getting for sure is Kickback. Might get Laser Prime even if I don't give a crap about G2. Dragstrip is very tempting. The figure itself looks amazing. But I don't really like Menasor's design. I just don't see the need to get all of the Stunticons when I may not combine them very much. And I have an all or nothing attitude when it comes to combiners.
I was curious about something. I have dragstrip and when I transform him into car mode, I have a hard time putting the back tabs (the ones that connect both halves) into place. Do you have this problem, also the waist wobble a bit
I'm thinking the Kickback gimmick was inspired by the G1 cartoon where the clone Insecticons would explode when shot at. Dragstrip looks good. I like him. I'll have to see what Menosaur looks like. Bulkhead and his none collapsing cab body, with all the engineering they couldn't collapse the cab body down? But the vehicle mode isn't bad though, good things are the wrecking ball hand and a shield which holds minicons. If only the cab collapsed down it would have been a great figure.
Someone made the argument that Legacy Bulkhead was supposed to be Animated Bulkhead because of the altmode and the truck chest except Hasbro decided to use Prime's Bulkhead for the head because of how much more known he is.
I haven't got any of legacy in YET, I have preordered a few but I'm not getting everything out of wave one, Acree, Bulkhead, I'm just not really feeling them, honestly, I think Bulkhead might of been better off if they had called him Movie Hound and gave him a look similar to that of Movie Hound, the alt mode just screams that it wants to be Hound, Acree, is clearly a pretool for a different character, so I'll wait and see on that matter! The others, I have preordered, aside from Blaster, whom I already gotten a hold of and he joined my G1 Autobot shelf with a few other figures standing in, for example, Generations Sandstorm, until we get a updated verison of him! The rest of Legacy wave 1 is on preorder including Laser Optimus prime, but I'm not likely to see them for a few more months as I live in the UK and the preorder says July time, so hopefully by then, we get to see what wave 2 looks like and a preview of Mensor!

If you had to consider getting a core class figure, get SS Bumblebee Shockwave or Legacy Iguanus. They both slap...HARD!

@@wheelrunner4 I'm kinda thorn on this one: as an individual figure it looks good, which is hard for yellow figures (to me, working with yellow is alway a hazard, sometimes the color is so bright you lose all the details) even though I would have preferred a different take, rather than G1 see Animated), HOWEVER, I hate what it leads to... I think that Menasor is the worst combiner ever (aside from that crappy Energon Grimlock-Swoom combination), that and the fact that this means that we won't have a Prime inspired Breakdown really angers me, especially if you consider that:
a) in Legacy we have Bulhead, aka Breakdown rival
b) in legacy we will have Knockout, aka Breakdown partner
c) Prime Breakdow is actually a character with a role in Prime, character development and has pretty much never seen an official release on the western market while G1 Breakdown is a dude who is famous for.... clinging to the leg of a dude...
So, TLDR, as a figure, Dragstrip is fine and achieved the goal of being yellow and being more than an indistinct blob BUT I hate that it will bring back G1 Menasor.

Yes and no. If the leaks are true Legacy is gonna have some good figures, and I'm looking forward to the Stunticons, but if Bulkhead and Arcee are anything to go by the versions from shows that aren't G1 are gonna be meh and not look how they were in the show. Which is what everyone who wanted the designs from other non G1 shows wanted.

Late to the party and wasn't even aware of most of these until trying to find a Kingdom Prime on Amazon one day. Wasn't too hyped about Bulkhead, but out of the entire wave looked to be the most fun out of the lot. Wasn't disappointed. Great articulation, solid feel, and weapons inclusion. Alt mode is decent, but wheels not being pinned do not roll the smoothest. Though Hasbro went for the Prime character this being a 6 wheeled military transport with a similar built in bot mode feels much closer in spirit to the animated version than the concept SUV he was in Prime. Only other release I'm interested in getting is Blaster, as he's straight up G1, and the closest I have to that is hilariously is the Voyager retooled Soundwave originally a deluxe in I think War of Cybertron or was that the second game? Also really glad they reissued Galvatron in this Wave as never got the Kingdom release or whichever it was.

Just a minor note regarding Kickback. The part formed by the swords is the abdomen, the thorax is the primary segment where the limbs attach. Head/thorax/abdomen, front to back. Also serious thanks for showing that the swords plug in there, I was about to toss them!

Prime Universe Bulkhead is growing on me, I gotta say. I already own First Edition Bulkhead, and I don't really NEED another one. I'm also ALWAYS saying I want Hasbro to take risks on character designs instead of always doing G1 cartoon accuracy, so I guess I got exactly what I asked for, despite my initial disappointment that he's not Prime-accurate.
I'm also really looking forward to the Mini-Cons and whatever Bulkhead gets retooled into (Optimus and movie Hound?)
Will be pretty hilarious if the "Earth mode Hound" people have been clamoring for ends up being movie Hound too

my bulkhead also has very stiff elbows and it is kind of annoying so your not the only one but its good that skids is finally getting some recognition
In my opinion, this is a great start to Legacy. Anybody expecting Hasbro to change the aesthetic of each figure to match the media they came from was setting themselves up to be letdown. The energon weapons are a fun edition that are a nice nod to Energon, similar to the Mini-Con ports to Armada. This line is finally putting the “S” in “Generations”, with the reveals and leaks confirming a mix of G1/2, BW, UT, and Aligned Continuity. Another nice touch is bringing combiners back, I just think there would’ve been more excitement for a more popular character than Menasor, though the choice makes sense since his CW figure was definitely the worst of the bunch.
In conclusion, too many people are comparing this to the WFC Trilogy based on the first wave, and even if Legacy doesn’t hold up in the long run it’s still shaping up to be great on it’s own. I seriously hope it continues past It’s first year, seeing how plans for this being a trilogy with the first part called “Evolution” has been cancelled.
I was fine with the legacy bulkhead since I know bulkhead is a fan loved character so in the future there will eventually be a prime accurate bulkhead and I'm fine with waiting becuase wfc is about g1 designs

I think this is a good start to legacy, but I feel we should wait and see. Rn the variety is it’s greatest strength.
I got Legacy Blaster and he’s a banger! He’s transformation is unique and I just realised That Toy Guy forgot to flip the legs panels for the side of the Getto Blaster Boombox. He’s so fun to play and he even comes with his cassette Eject! I know, transparent parts are fragile. But,when I transform Blaster, I would ALWAYS transform Eject with Blaster. My next target is Legacy Kickback and Bombshell. I already have shrapnel and he’s also a cool figure! He looks more like a stag beetle then a grasshopper that has visible limbs from the robot mode. I don’t mind getting Kickback but I do wish that they put more effort on Bombshell in the upcoming Legacy wave! But for now, I will wait for Bombshell THEN I will buy Kickback and Bombahell. But overall, Legacy Blaster is fun to hold, fun to play with and easy to transform. This is just my opinion, don’t get mad at me for liking Blaster like “UGHHGhHHhHyhygYug SoUnDwAvE iS bEtTeR tHaN bLaStEr!1!1!!1”.
Seeing those minicon ports on bulkhead gives me high hopes for a new demolishor and blackout from Armada. My favorite Cons, maybe even some updated minicon teams like the land military team, the star saber, and such. I have Big hype for this line going forward. Also that dragstrip looks superb
Gotta be honest I was in the bulkhead hate group, but when people finnally got him in hand and started taking better pics of him. And when I got him. He's definitely my favorite mainline fig I got in a while. Legacy line is definitely a line I'm looking forward to

A reason I kinda hate Menacor's design, is that in some toys, the leg cars go in the back of the legs, so you can't really see them and they might as well not be there, there's no difference. I hope they do the Legacy one like your Magic Square one.
That war for Cybertron figures was really cool I hated the way they added those war-torn paint apps. I got Mr.Color leveling thinner and some wooden cotton swabs and I took off all of those paint apps that I didn't like even those that tried to mimic the shattered glass crap. Don't get me wrong I do like the comics for it but Hasbro is very cheap with its paint apps and they think it's out of this world better than 3rd party stuff. This stuff didn't ruin the plastic either I just would rub some off then wash it off then let it dry and after a couple of days, I work on the harder stuff until it's all gone. I do need me some Pipes tho got to find him.

I DO have the FE Prime Bulkhead…. and I love Legacy Bulkhead. Like, TO DEATH. In my opinion, FE Bulk is more about show accuracy, but honestly? It’s not as fun as a toy. Like, honestly. FE Bulk reminds me of a MP toy, in that as far as poseable show accurate look, it’s got that and more. Masterful engineering in the transformation, check. But… it’s not as fun. If anything it’s kinda fragile. L-Bulk on the other hand; that thing is designed to be PLAYED with. Like, it’s got multiple weapons, it’s got all sorts of ports for compatibility; FE Bulk has his mace you can plug onto the end of his arm or on the back of his vehicle mode like a giant butt pimple, with no way to store it anywhere else. Much like a lot of modern MPs tbh. So. Yeah,
FE Bulk is A+ for show-accuracy, Le Bulk is for playability.
The thing is, we want *both* the visual experience and the handfeel experience

To add to what you said about Kickback, yes he is very simple and i think that works. It totally doesn't compromise either mode. Better than say Blitzwing. Oh dear...
If you could get your hands on First edition Bulkhead, please do. It's hands down one of the best Transformers ever made 😊 Other than that, Legacy Bulkhead is alright and one of the better figures from this lineup

Legacy to me will be good, wave 1 was just a rough start for the line. Waves 2 and 3 will for sure be the best two in the first line, quite a lot of great characters getting long awaited figures.

I think siege,earthrise,kingdom,86 and now legacy have a good amount of figures.Not all are perfect but acceptable solid FUN figures to enjoy.

My eject has a little crack Day 1, on the right shoulder, that metal is putting too much pressure on the fragile plastic.
Only have Skids, Bulkhead, and Blaster so far. But I love them all. Only other one I'm planning on getting for sure is Kickback. Might get Laser Prime even if I don't give a crap about G2. Dragstrip is very tempting. The figure itself looks amazing. But I don't really like Menasor's design. I just don't see the need to get all of the Stunticons when I may not combine them very much. And I have an all or nothing attitude when it comes to combiners.
I was curious about something. I have dragstrip and when I transform him into car mode, I have a hard time putting the back tabs (the ones that connect both halves) into place. Do you have this problem, also the waist wobble a bit

Bulkhead and his none collapsing cab body, with all the engineering they couldn't collapse the cab body down? But the vehicle mode isn't bad though, good things are the wrecking ball hand and a shield which holds minicons. If only the cab collapsed down it would have been a great figure.

Someone made the argument that Legacy Bulkhead was supposed to be Animated Bulkhead because of the altmode and the truck chest except Hasbro decided to use Prime's Bulkhead for the head because of how much more known he is.
I haven't got any of legacy in YET, I have preordered a few but I'm not getting everything out of wave one, Acree, Bulkhead, I'm just not really feeling them, honestly, I think Bulkhead might of been better off if they had called him Movie Hound and gave him a look similar to that of Movie Hound, the alt mode just screams that it wants to be Hound, Acree, is clearly a pretool for a different character, so I'll wait and see on that matter! The others, I have preordered, aside from Blaster, whom I already gotten a hold of and he joined my G1 Autobot shelf with a few other figures standing in, for example, Generations Sandstorm, until we get a updated verison of him! The rest of Legacy wave 1 is on preorder including Laser Optimus prime, but I'm not likely to see them for a few more months as I live in the UK and the preorder says July time, so hopefully by then, we get to see what wave 2 looks like and a preview of Mensor!
