@@RYMAN1321 not my comment btw VulLord666 (og poster) I love how everyone complains about the new rules and mechanics when NONE of them retroactively changed the game. You can still make good decks (they’ve even added support to older archetypes) without the mechanics you don’t like and if you have a group of friends that agree, you can all CHOOSE to just not play with post GX using the same rules and have fun. Also most of the complaints have always been there. You could ALWAYS summon a bunch of monsters in one time, with a good deck and luck 1 turn ko was possible, fusion summoning always seemed super broken to (You could literally summon a high level monster with a lot of attack just by having the right cards in your hand AND THEN YOU COULD STILL NORMAL SUMMON; at least synchro and xyz require cards to be on the field). And Yu-Gi-Oh! Was NEVER “simple”; it maybe used to be more simple, but you’d have a difficult time even explaining OG yugioh to someone completely ignorant of it; it’s not exactly go fish. I can remember the spring of 02 like yesterday. Attack of the clones stuff everywhere, little league, skateboarding and of course yugioh. The world was so different it almost seems like a simulation
I’m getting a ton of fusion monsters, that Goddess with the 3rd eye would come in handy! Also I just became a fan of your videos, but even more a fan of your excitement when it comes to opening card packs! I can’t wait to start playing next week when I get my cards! Haven’t played in forever
My first card ever was dark magician when I was 8 I was born in 1994 and yu gi oh has been my favorite card game sense it started in the us and the dark magician card I got was my favorite card and was in my deck I tried to be as careful with it as possible when I was little but one day I was having a dual with some kid at school and because I beat him he took my Dark Magician card and ripped it in half and I was never able to find another one until a couple years ago after finding you're channel I got interested in Yu-Gi-Oh again and bought one of those gold boxes that came with the original art dark magician card now its in a card binder and it's staying there and just wanted to say thanks for getting me back into collecting yu gi oh cards if it wasn't for your RUclips videos I probably wouldn't have my favorite card back so keep up the good work and keep making these awesome videos :-D
Man, I remember not even knowing the rules of Yugioh but I just collected the cards I liked from the animated series. I completely lost interest after the "Orichalcos" nonsense. Came back years later when XYZ had just came out and it captured my interest again. Then they started making cards a lot more complicated and I left for good. I loved the simpler times when you relied on one good high ATTK monster to win you the game. Nothing was bounced or just instantly destroyed. I looked forward to every weekend to see what new villain Yugi Moto was going to have to defeat in the next episode. Yep.
I have been following Simply Unlucky from the Beginning and to See that he reached his dream of opening up a card shop has me taken back you finally did it...... Kinda miss the old set up though lol YUGIOHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I seriously miss the old printing, the cards grossor, the thick gray frame around the art, the soft background title... they looked like a really All Ages TCG Professional work for cards. Now they just look cheap and lazy, kind of like - Time Is Money... Less Resources is also money - cheap and lazy, like they are an actual ChildrensCardGame now, kind of sad really. This quality was consistant throught the first series to all 5D's. I guess it started around ZeXal era, idk. I mean just look at an original Old Card vs it's reprint. If there's something - imo - in which is worth to SJW even a little is THIS. It actually has got to the point i can't stop comparing whenever i hold a classic card next to a new one in a hand, or both right next to each other in a binder.
i remember whenever my mom would take me to zellers with her shed always buy me a pack of yugioh cards. looking at these really makes me miss my childhood... much simpler times. btw harpie's brother was always my fav card back then!!
I remember my first card ever back when I was like 6 or 7 lol, some kid on my block just gave me Dark Assailant which was a crappy card, but I cherished until I finally got my mom to get me the Yugi starter deck. Ughhhh good times, simpler times. I feel like it was super hard to get the ultra rares or secrets out of booster packs compared to Pokemon. I only ever got one secret rare card from a pack and that was Magic Cylinder. All my cards are lost now idk what even happened to them lol wish I still had my collection... seriously contemplating buying some old booster packs on ebay or something and starting over lmao!
One of my greatest pack pulls came from the Metal Raiders pack and till this day the card is one of my favorite cards. I got a Black Skull Dragon from that pack. It's the only time I ever got the cover monster in the pack and I have a feeling it'll probably never happen again.
I'll never forget I went to the mall with the Jinzo episode aired with my friends. We walk in, I say to the person selling cards... let me see the box. He said ok, I said this is the pack with Jinzo. I literally said, "heart of the card." I shit you not I pulled Jinzo out, and my friends were all like. : O !!!!!!
I used to run three Giant Germ cards in my deck back then. Was great for being able to turbo out Dark Necrofear (which required two or three Fiend types to be banished to Special Summon).
Spell Ruler I think was my first ever pack and have nearly all those cards to. I remember my friend giving me 2 additional Giant Germs and a Judge Man for my Catapult Turtle and I think a Final Destination.
My first booster pack of all time was a Spell Ruler. I was like: imagine he gets the same cards I did back in 2004 and omg, the first 4 cards were actually the same I got when I opened my first booster pack. I can’t believe it.
I love how we are only like 2 or 3 years apart in age because I get all of your yugioh refferences. I mean dude you got me walking around yelling KAIBBBBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
When LOB 1st came out I bought 6 booster packs. The 1st pack I opened had Blue eyes white dragon. I later pulled a polymerization from one of the others. That was a sweet feeling.
I miss yugioh. Growing up I never really had money and my parents were so strict that most times I could not go anywhere. These packs are the cards I grew up on. By the time I had money to play, game had already changed and the local store that held tournaments had shut down 6 months later. So I never got to fully enjoy
Watching your videos brings back memories bruh... I remember getting my first red eyes, luster dragon slayer, blue eyes and dark magician, and I had them in halograpich, well that’s how we used to called them back in the day. Awesomeness bruh lmao.
My first yugioh pack ever had: Skull Red Bird Skull Servant (which I still have) Witty Phantom Green Phantom King Yami Misairuzame and my rare was Goblin's Secret Remedy. (can't remember the other two) seeing Lucky pull that Secret Remedy, brought back a nice memory...

I can remember the spring of 02 like yesterday. Attack of the clones stuff everywhere, little league, skateboarding and of course yugioh. The world was so different it almost seems like a simulation
Can you describe the smell of 2002?
a Simpler Time
OH BABY
@@TheBigFive indeed. Back in a time with little political conflict compared to now and the internet was in its infancy
I’m getting a ton of fusion monsters, that Goddess with the 3rd eye would come in handy! Also I just became a fan of your videos, but even more a fan of your excitement when it comes to opening card packs! I can’t wait to start playing next week when I get my cards! Haven’t played in forever
Remember to not mess up the wrapping lol gotta reseal those bad boys 😂
Nah, the openings are legit XD
VixXstazosJOB the openings are I agree
Makes videos daily. Very dedicated. This type of dedication is admirable.
Oh Baby!
Best Old Times!
Your without question the "God of Whiff's"
~Day 5 Waiting for Dark Magician Girl Ultimate Rare in TCG~
Year 8 of waiting for Holactie to come out for TCG
I absolutely worshiped YuGiOh as a kid, like this is my Childhood, forget Pokemon this is my hype
KIABAAA
?
I still remember the smell of opening up a fresh pack like it was yesterday.
RoastRoyale same
Thought i was the only one who sniffed Yugioh cards
i remember whenever my mom would take me to zellers with her shed always buy me a pack of yugioh cards. looking at these really makes me miss my childhood... much simpler times. btw harpie's brother was always my fav card back then!!
YES!!! these classic openings are giving me the chills. Loving it!!!
I was in 3rd grade when these were out. I remember everyone trading while we rode the bus from school. Good times. Wish I kept all mine.
i had those booster packs in 7th grade.. man it was fun times. so glad i got to be a part of that phase and days.
Man, this brings back so many memories. I miss playing in the YMCA gym during summer camp.
Gyus , have you ever notesd that the old YGO art works look like some of 80's metal bands album covers?
Like Iron maiden and Megadeth?! Looks cool tho
@Basement Bohab yeah , it's awesome
Yea all those junk cards lol well junk at the time
I love how we are only like 2 or 3 years apart in age because I get all of your yugioh refferences.
Wow.... this is absolutely awesome. I just bought a Yu-Gi-Oh mystery pack the other day and it was a Legend Of Blue Eyes booster. I was so happy.
Cool unboxing! But I'm a little confused, aren't the cards supposed to be marked as 1st edition if they really are from 2002?
Wow that’s crazy, I remember all these packs back in the day as a kid.
Classic scene launching Gaia at that castle. Loved the anime
seeing that tournament packs reminds me of the time where i found a couple of tournament pack 6 at walmart back in the early 2010's
I'm totally fine with the Synchro, XYZ stuff but Links are confusing specially when you add it to your personally built deck
For Dimension Hole, you could use it on Fortunate Lady Light to activate her effect. But there are other better cards.
I never really got into the yugioh thing till recently but I can feel how special these are by just the tension in this video
I started seeing this channel about 7-8 y ago... who would've thought you would come this far...amazing all my best wishes dude
My first yugioh pack ever had:
Skull Red Bird
Skull Servant (which I still have)
Witty Phantom
Green Phantom King
Yami
Misairuzame
and my rare was Goblin's Secret Remedy.
(can't remember the other two)
seeing Lucky pull that Secret Remedy, brought back a nice memory...
I remember the joy when I was a kid getting a Cosmo Queen from McDonald's Happy Meal .
Lol dude I was born in 92 and have an entire box of cards from when I was 8-10. My dad used to buy me the best cards cuz he knew I loved it. I’m looking to sell these cards
Hi man great video! I'm back into yu-gi-oh after long years gonna play some tournament has so as the pandemic is over. Do you do delivery to canada/montreal ? And do you have retro yu-gi-oh cards deck in the store that I get order ?
In early 2000 how you got the tournament packs?
What places you have to go to get one?
The very first booster pack that I ever bought and opened 16 years ago was the Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon and has Blue Eyes White Dragon in it.
Seeing vanilla cards reminds me of being a kid opening a few packs and throwing a card with 1700 attack into my deck thinking I was hot shit lmao
There is more suspense in this video than most major hollywood productions
The old monsters seem to just be random drawings of whatever random creature they could think of. Lol.
this video is so damn wild..where i am watching a video of you with a video of yourself in the back with a video of yourself in a video of yourself in the back 🤣🤣
