- Iran’s attack on Israel on Saturday night had been “defeated”, President Biden said. “Together with our partners, we defeated that attack,” he said at the start of a meeting at the White House with Iraq’s prime minister, Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani.
In comments about the war in Gaza, Biden added that “the United States is committed to a ceasefire that will bring the hostages home and prevent the conflict from spreading … than it already has”.
