this is why naruto and bleach and now Black Clover are beautiful, the changes the positive MC make on the negative people are beautiful. Yes it is somewhat unrealistic but also not really. Irl people are very grumpy, gloomy. If an event happened that changed their lives and perspectives to be more free, open, positive or even good then that's just beautiful, is it not? I think that reflection of the reality is exactly why i love these kind of anime which have drawn out fights, average plot and often stereotypical characters :)

Grimmjow is like a level between Ikkaku and Zaraki in terms of fight obsession. Zaraki loves fighting strong and stronger oponents, Grimmjow kinda gets triggered when someone is stronger. I would love to see him fight Zaraki still tho! or Ikkaku if he unlocks new form of Bankai(i didn't read TYBW manga nor have i seen spoilers about ikkaku powers)
I have a theory about this. Byakuya became what he is today due to pressure from people about how heads of noble clans are supposed to behave and if he didn’t nobody would love or respect him. Byakuya as a teenager behaved like Ichigo does throughout the show, as seen on flashbacks. Then one day an alternate version of his past self comes along, brazenly breaks every rule byakuya holds near and dear to his heart, goes around beating the bejesus out of captains, lieutenants, entire squads of seated and unseated officers alike, imposes his will on a 1000 year old institution and not only does he succeed, everyone (including your family members and the guys he beat up) either loves or respects him. Wouldn’t you question your customs and traditions after that?
Kyoraku really had to work to lose his Captain's coat, too. He always wears the pink one over it, and he managed to not lose *that* one, so losing his Captain's coat was quite an achievement.
