I really appreciate all the history you provided. It sells me on it more because now I know it's not just some artificial, plastic theme park built in Southern California, but instead has evolved over a hundred years. After watching you video, I told my mom about it, and she visited with her family from Chicago in the 1950's. She remembers their famous chicken dinners.

When I visited Knott's Berry Farm on 9/14/2023, GhostRider was a walk on outside of after my first 2 rides, until it had no line again in the afternoon, and because of that, I rode it 21 times, the most rides on one ride in a single day.

Knotts is my favorite theme park . Then comes Disneyland followed by Universal. The roller coasters are better for the most part at magic mountain than Knotts. However, Knott's is not about roller coasters or thrills. Instead it focuses heavily on the themining and providing something for everyone in the family. I think that's the issue with magic mountain. It doesn't offer as much to every member of the family. Knotts has dark rides and a great selection of roller coasters. Knotts is arguerabilty better since it combines thrills with nostalgic and family rides. I'm hoping Knotts will expand in the next 10 years.

My mother was a teacher in California back in the late 80s and early 90s and she took her classes here at the end of the school year. Unfortunately she didn't remember much of this place after revisiting in 2014. Speaking of which, my tips after visiting there would be to ride the Calico Mine Ride and the Timber Mountain Log Ride first as those are classic rides that get very popular eith guests. Also remember to get the chicken on your way out the door as that is the best fried chicken I've ever had.. Doesn't matter if you eat at the restaurant or get it to go for a meal at home or later. All that matters is that you get it.

As someone who visits this place every week the coaster line up never gets old, and I think everything is super well done. Canobie Coaster would say:
Coast Rider is a Mack Wild Mouse coaster at Knott's Berry Farm. Coast Rider is a great option for kids, but anyone and most people despise this coaster. The ride was retrofit and modified with shin guards a few years ago, turning...
    A) a fast wild mouse coaster
    B) a slow wild mouse coaster
    into...
    A) a shuffling ride experience
    B) a lateral mercilessly thrown ride experience
    C) an excruciating torture machine
    D) a ride experience with less violent sensations

Yes I'm back a week later, and here's what I think. Knott's Berry Farm is an amazing park. Services and theming was amazing. Surprisingly, my favorite themed land was the boardwalk section because of the sleek modernized look and the diversity from the rest of the park's Western themed area. I plan to come back next year to hit up HangTime and Sierra Sidewinder, because I missed them. Everything was great, including the rides. Silver Bullet is currently my favorite B&M invert, but that'll change when I go to Florida for Montu. GhostRider is my favorite overall coaster because of the airtime, smoothness, length and restraints. Montezooma's Revenge was extremely fun, Jaguar had some good theming in the pyramid and a second lift hill and floater pops I wasn't expecting, Pony Express had a surprisingly powerful launch and Coast Rider killed my shins but the first drop was very fun.

The RMC coasters use the standard RMC trains with the usual RMC restraints and shin guards, and how do you compare the shin guards on the RMCs to the shin guards on Coast Rider at Knott's Berry Farm? What do you think for you? Are both shin guards similar, how they are shaped, and how do they come to the shins?

My personal favorite park in California (and personal favorite park overall likely until I get to Orlando next year) - as you said it perfectly blends thrills with great theming and real history. They've got six great coasters plus ghost town (my favorite themed area in any park I've visited - including galaxy's edge and hogsmeade) and a top tier log flume. Disneyland and DCA are too crowded/expensive despite incredible themed attractions and Magic Mountain brings an unbeatable coaster collection for the state but lacks the charm. Seaworld San Diego and Universal Hollywood lack the depth in attraction lineup, and the norcal parks can't really compete with any of them. Maybe it's nostalgia because I grew up going here, but I just think that it gives the most complete experience out of any Cali park.

Knott's has class! It was playing Hansel und Gretel by Englebert Humperdinck (the original; 1854-1921, NOT the other "Englebert Humperdinck" who's really Arnold George Dorsey; b. 1936) when I arrived in last November 2019. The park was also already playing Christmas carols arranged for country ensemble, and Hansel and Gretel are about kids in the dark being lured by candy, so I guess it gets lumped in with Christmas theming. Besides, despite its etymology: in North America Christmas is primarily for children and has been so at least for the past century. At least Knott's knows how to theme things culturally when they want to. Like Frontier Town at Cedar Point that blasts Copland an Morricone to be themed to the wild west, Knott's themes Christmas with class too.

Do you think a 16 years old boy usually has short or long legs?

I think most 16 year olds will have trouble with the shin guards.

I try to visit in off-peak periods, but splurge for Fast Lane if I can't avoid crowds.

Knott's after SFMM and DCA is a terrible take. Better ops and not a billion degrees like SFMM, and way more attractions than DCA. Knott's vs Disneyland is a toss-up to your personal taste if you value scenery and quality over cost saving and thrill rides. Knott's is flat out better than your 2 and 3 imo, but choosing Disneyland at #1 is totally understandable.

I really like Knott's still. It's just SoCal is stacked for parks.

I got to check out it's gates while they were closed for covid-19, and I don't think I will ever get to see it so empty again. The fried chicken is pretty bland IMO.
