@@IamCynDoll I needed this right now, cuz if I'm showered in my own strands of hair one more time like it's a snow day, I'm gonna really throw something😩🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Thank you for this. I was told over 20 years ago by a white male cosmetologist that all women including black women should wash their hair at lest once if not twice a week. And that I should put light oils on my scalp every day. He said black women are always trying to find the best way to retain moisture , and water is moisture. I told my aunt and she told me not to listen to him because he was white and didn’t know anything. I had a hard time going against family and all the habits we have been trained to do.
Detangle on dry hair before washing with oils pertaining to your porosity easily get the shed hairs out section your hair , WASH your SCALP weekly WITH SHAMPOO and stop putting products on your scalp, Keep hair shaft twisted and moisturized and protected until washday which should be weekly, If you want hair growth which means a mandatory clean & clear scalp oxygen on the scalp and follicle equals GROWTH, Oil your hair shaft/ Ends ONLY!!! Deep Condition ENDS ONLY!! Make sure no products get on the scalp as you twist/ braid your hair in protective style until washday, PROTECTIVE STYLES SHOULD NOT BE TIGHT!! It should be simple like twist of braids, Especially if your middle crown is short, The Crown Area Should Be A Section by itself, My hair Takes 9 Twist Total I Do Twist For My Weekly Protective Style, When I Section Out My Hair, So your Total sections May Be Different than mines, make it easy and sectioning is key and switch it up making a middle part to keep fullness

@@IamCynDoll Of course your welcome! A few weeks I've been following all your tips and have been using your product recommendations for low porosity hair and been trying to incorporate all the advice you've been giving :) I also had a way over due trim 3 weeks ago after gaining unhealthy length
It's so funny that as a licensed cosmetologist, my mom & sister tried to argue me to death about black ppl not producing sebum on our scalps 😂😂.. we do, it's just that due to our hair texture it has a harder time working it's way down the hair shaft thus making it dryer than our yt/straight haired counter parts
Such great information. You are a wonderful teacher. I’m experiencing some balding in my nape area and have been for years. I’m definitely going to follow your advice and see what happens. Thanks!!!!!
Thank You for sharing. I having issues with on my edges in 2 spots. Usually my edges have always been full. However I’ve tried to keep tension and stress from my scalp. Needed this info today.
I’m a middle aged woman and just started to relax and grow my hair again after 20 years. I’m just noticing some shedding for the first time ever. I plan to get my ends trimmed and grow out the relaxer to a natural. Hopefully, this will stop the shedding.
Oh wow I forgot about that word my hair I find out in 2019PCOS and learn more on it I realized it caused the hair loss This information is very important👍❤
9:01-9:06 100% FACTS! HalleluYah! You've said it all with just this truth alone, Sis! Thanks so much for your edification; you are a true educator, as well as artist. 💓
Question: So you should not use the LOC/LCO methods to moisturize hair because it blocks the hair follicles that prevent growth and that could contribute to hair thinning and shedding as well? (Long question I know😊).
@@IamCynDoll Thank you so much for these videos dispelling the myths that we've been buying into. What do you think of onion juice on the scalp, i started putting msm on my scalp but i may stop since you said that we need to look at the long term affects of putting it in our hair.
@Lisa T Hi thank you, for responding, I wasnt referring to coffee as a myth, I was talking about other stuff Cyn mentions on her channel, I use msm on my scalp because i dont do well with it as a supplement but in another video she said we have to know what are the long term affects of putting msm on scalp before we start using it. I will look into to it to see what are the long term affects.
Thank you for all the information you provide us. I know you have a lot of videos so I may have missed it, but have you/can you address dryness, brittleness and breakage that comes from perimenopause? My hair is straight up unrecognizable and *nothing* I have done over the past two years has been able to handle the smackdown my hormones have been laying down. Diet changes, product changes, supplement changes, technique changes...my strands just laugh at my efforts as they fall off of my head. Only the first inch or so stays feeling healthy while the rest turns to hay. I've chopped down to an inch twice in the past two years to the same result. I'm about to prepare myself to cut it all off again, but I want to see if there's anything else I can try first before I do.
Can you do a video on your opinion and expertise on washing your hair with shampoo & conditioner, just conditioning, just wetting whether spray bottle or shower AND how often you should, is daily to much? I wet my hair daily and add conditioner, I know I should switch to a leave in, when I'm wearing my natural curl so I'm interested in your opinion and expertise.
Yes!! I tried not washing my hair often but I work construction and nursing and need to wash daily almost because I get dirty. When I wash and use nioxin and olaplex or joico bond strengthening my hair is like silk. My granddaughter not biologically related is 1/4 Caucasian and 3/4 African American and I’m using carols daughter goddess strength or wash day delight. I wash twice a week scrubbed and moisturize with water and leave in daily. Her hair is soft now and growing beautifully.
Hey Cyn, would you say that it’s normal to have some hair miniaturization? I notice that some of my hair strands are thinner than others but my hair does not feel any thinner from what I can tell. My edges are still full as well. Sorry if you already answered this. I’m attempting to watch you while multitasking lol
I learn a lot watching your videos but never commented before. I'm at a crossroads. Seems my head has 3 different types of hair and 2 different porosity's. so not sure what products to use for my hair and I take different medications. Please advise

Your scalp makes its own sebum, no need to add anything.
Question: So you should not use the LOC/LCO methods to moisturize hair because it blocks the hair follicles that prevent growth and that could contribute to hair thinning and shedding as well? (Long question I know😊).
Yes exactly.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You don’t want to block the cuticle. You want to create a breathable environment for the cuticle with easy oxygen flow etc.
Ok, check and check👍✅
