    Dropping gems as usual. You've really inspired me to start spreading the word. Recently had a convo with a lady about the differences between Indian and black hair care practices. She started talking bout how "Indian women oil their scalps regularly and their hair is still long n thick"...the usual blah blah 😑 😒
    I responded by pointing out that when they oil their scalps, it's washed out hours later. They ain't leaving it in for no MONTH or more like some Team Natural folks, and they definitely ain't cowashing neither. The routines that I've seen involve warm oil being massaged into the scalp & ends, combed thru to detangle, then washed out hours later or next day. They stress the importance of keeping the hair & scalp clean, free of sweat n dust, and wash the hair twice a week in summer and once a week in cooler seasons. A few drops of oil is added post-wash but only to the ends.
    Sorry for the long post but I know if anybody can shed more light on this topic, it's definitely you. I'd love to see a video on this 😊

      Very true! This is coming from someone with Indian relatives who had long hair to the ground. They do not do all this madness. It’s usually very simple oil and comb to detangle and wash immediately. Maybe a little oil after wash but nothing to sit in for days. They do not go months without washing as I have seen in the natural community. To me this is insane.

    I've seen many women young and old literally going bald due to folliculits. I put them on a proper regimen and BOOM the hair "magically" appears. I don't believe in everyone oiling their hair because everyone does not need to. The only time I recommend it is when someone has actual inflammation/dealing with a fungal condition and I only recommend oils that are non comedogenic, cleansing, anti-fungal, and anti inflammatory to soothe the itch and calm the scalp. Women with textured hair automatically think they have to oils and grease their scalp it's like a religious practice, there is no actual method behind what they're doing. Great video.

    • @officialsyddinpretty
      @officialsyddinpretty 2 года назад +9

      On top of that. the constant smothering of the scalp and then not cleansing is tragic, and it makes the hairs grow in sparsely and fine in diameter. But they don't listen. So I'm black man who used to have locs and just went along with everything until a combination of traction and hormones caught up with me, fast forward hair became thinner and as a result I cut my hair and couldn't leave oil in my hair if wanted to because it looked bad. The products that work for me are in fact oils, but I always wash them out and use scalp spray in addition to shampoo from the line. Its the only set of products that are directly for people with alopecia and the RUclipsr always shows receipts which made me give it a shot. Its not an over night fix. Your definitely right about products causing scalp inflammation, bacteria, fungus etc but I as a guy barely did much to my hair and its not up until I got sick and everything shifted for my hair at the same time. Its not much representation for guys trying to solve this issue cuz they don't care lol. I will say that doing herbal rinses and keeping my scalp clean has been a game changer overall in addition to the things I mentioned before.

    A question: if scalp oiling is harmful in any measure, for any hair type, then why is hair oiling (done properly), sometimes done on the scalp, a form of Ayurvedic hair care? Many Indian women who practice it have very long and lustrious hair. Is it because of their straight/wavy hair (so that sebum/oils descend faster from the hair shaft than with curly hair and so don't block the follicle as much)? Something else? I'm not asking this as a rhetorical question, I'm genuinely asking. Thank you.

    • @IamCynDoll
      @IamCynDoll  2 года назад +10

      It should only be used when mixed with essential oils in very very very small amounts to treat a infection, it carries the essential oil to the scalp. Your suppose to shampoo the oil off after treatment. Oils are for the hairshaft not the scalp it’s simple. Please watch the videos on my playlist above.

    • @virginiamontaldo440

      @@IamCynDoll I know that sometimes oil is used as a pre-poo by Indian women, it is used hot, massaged in and left from 30 mins to overnight and then shampooed. Infused herbs and essential oils are a bonus and treat more specific problems but oil(s) alone can be used. It is a conditioning treatment, but it also relaxes the brain and eyes (or im Ayurvedic terms, brings Kapha to these fatty Kapha organs aggravated by stressed Vata) and thus it's also used by bald men. But yes, as I can see the oil is always washed out afterwards.

    I’ve gone through the playlist to see what can benefit me but I don’t have curly hair and I’m a not a black female. I’m a male that is struggling and I’m only 17. I use clove water everyday for 2 weeks now. I’m a 17 year old Asian male with straight hair and my hair can get oily. I’ve recently been doing putting Clove water onto my hair and then I just try to letting it airdry. Sorry about this but I have a lot of questions if you could take your time to read this. I’m very insecure about myself right now and I need someone else’s advice desperately and what to do. Q1. When I wait and try to let it be airdryed and when I wake up in the morning my hair has like a greasy feel and I could see my scalp more clearly. Is it because of the fact I’m air drying and should I towel dry or is it something else? Q2. As well as this when I put on moisturiser it makes my hair really greasy as my hair is quite oily. Do I have to use moisturiser as it’s making my hair look terrible. Q3. Is my hair when I wake up thin and looks greasy because I’ve sprayed too much clove water in my hair and should I spray lees? Q4. Am I able to sleep with my hair wet with Clove water? I’ve heard some say that it could cause breakage if you sleep with wet hair at night. Q5. Is it ok to use it everyday? I’ve seen peopel day you can use it everyday depending on how severe it could be. Q6. College is nearly starting for me so I was wondering am I able to apply this at night and wash it off in the morning? Q7. When it’s washday is it better to rinse it off or use a shampoo and conditioner to wash it off? Q8. As moisturiser makes my hair more oily/greasy would essential oils help or not? I was thinking of rosemary oily but it might add more grease to my hair. Q9. I use this around 11pm and I got to sleep around 12pm. Should I towel dry or air dry it when I’m gonna go to sleep? Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please read this as soon as possible I really need help. I need to know why my hair gets so greasy and I can see my scalp more clearly when I wake up in the morning and I’m really struggling my and I’m panicking. I’m losing so much confidence because of this and I feel so insecure about myself.
