I was watching your videos on the rice water while I was on the bus about an hour ago. And God answered my prayers cause I was waiting for you to do a video on Low porosity hair. I still don't know what kind of hair I have, but it would determine my decision to even try the rice water or not. I watched the video. I agreed and disagreed with lots of points, but the main idea is to Do your own Research. That's what I learned. I'm a Pre-med major and I know almost exactly what you were talking about. Most of the precautions were common sense. Who just soaks water and leaves it and calls it rice water? That's literally Soju (Korean fermented rice wine), so people out here making some soju and calling it rice water lol. But I'm still listening to the one who has more education and experience with hair. I'm listening Cyn.
Thats so ture, the front section of my hair is softer then the back , way easier to manage and it curls way easier ...but love both textures they keep my arm💪game strong Keep your 🏋 I have wash day😉
Wow, Cyn I'm a growing cosmetologist n you're videos helped me grow tremendously. I have a better understanding of the breakdown of our hair and it makes it so much more fun to do. Thank you for the love you put into your videos. Never ever have I seen someone so giving (do u know how hair it is to reach out to others without a pricetag even on the simplest ?s ?!) I love you Big sister. God bless you and family. Shower you in love, grace, abundance and peace.
Can you do a in-depth video on low porosity hair? I feel like this was the basics for beginners. It would be awesome if you did a demonstration on a client. Walk us through the washing and explain the products you’re using. A lot of us Low porosity women have a hard time with moisture and protein balance. Thanks♥️
EverythingsbetterinPink I have videos with low porosity hair. I’m just bringing this to my channel and the first trio. Most are beginners so that’s where I’m starting.
I did my research ya'll. She speaks truth. Protein is not for us, especially too much. Rice water.. a no no bo bo. Our hair is special and it deserves research in order to love and see it flourish. It will with the right things (our individual hair) and thank you so much sis. Your tips are confirmation. I am mixed with African,( Trinidadian) jamaican, indian and some spanish. So my hair loves to be moisturized. Doesn't like eco style or protein. Loves argan oil, olive oil and jojoba oil. And my hair loves peppermint oil. Tea tree if not mixed or used to much, hurts my hair. It loves my DIY choc masks with aloe vera and flaxseed gel but not much. Needs water but can't wet my hair much, opens my cuticle and gets frizzy. So wish everyone the best in learning your hair type. Condition wit heat ya'll. It works so well. Amino acids are good which our body needs and our hair but it releases small chains of protein. So you can get it from Bragg's. If I am wrong #cyndoll please let me know. Make sure your body isn't too alkaline. If you are not sure what your ph balance is, if your body is retaining to much acid, then you don't need to drink alkaline water everyday. Cancer thrives on a bad ph balance or a body with too much acid. Outsides of that, it is good
Thank you for educating us on how to care and grow our hair properly. Sheabei powder and rose nectar or Shea butter and natural aloe vera gel sounds like a great hair conditioner or leave in treatment. Please make a video about that!!!
I'm white. I have long, baby-fine hair. I'm old enough to know what works and what doesn't, to keep my hair healthy and long. I guarantee that the treated water we use to wash our hair in the U.S. is HORRIBLY drying, as well as toxic to our bodies. I can also attest to what helps ensure the length is retained, if not encouraged; it is the way in which you keep it protected from environmental damage. Wigs, material coverings, braids, and even buns will help keep your hair from sun, wind, heat (natural), pollutants, and external stressors such as snags and pulls from clothing, jewelry, children (HA!), and whatever random things in your world get in/on/under/around your hair. Like Cyn Doll states, you must protect your hair in order to MAINTAIN the length. Your genetics will absolutely determine what type of hair you will have, but nutrition and diet are the true contributors to the new growth and its strength. Hair is dead once out of the follicles, so everything you do to it will either weaken it or maintain it. Remember, all forms of matter (gases, liquids, solids, and plasma) are chemical in nature. Light, heat, and sound are not chemicals, because they are not made up of atoms or molecules. Chemical reaction is "a process in which one or more substances, the reactants, are converted to one or more different substances, the products. Substances are either chemical elements or compounds. A chemical reaction rearranges the constituent atoms of the reactants to create different substances as products." (See www.britannica.com/science/chemical-reaction.) The trick to hair's health (although it's dead) is reducing/eliminating chemical reactions with it. I guess what I am trying to say in my diatribe here is that Cyn Doll KNOWS what she is talking about, because she did and DOES her research, and she provides the important information, without going into boring detail, about hair's natural chemical properties, as well as chemical reactions to natural and man-made substances and products. I SO enjoy Cyn's teaching (if not preaching) style in her videos, because what she shares with us is universal knowledge, so no matter your race, age, gender, or education, she hits the HAIR on the head! (Nails don't have hair.)
You just schooled me because it takes so long to get my natural hair wet in the shower. Now I know to wash it in the same temp I would shower in 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾. You finally made it clear for me that I have low porosity hair and need to use heat with conditioner....I looked at my daughter like she was crazy and told her to stay off RUclips when she wanted to do that rice water nonsense. We’re not Asian and that’s basically spoilt water 🤢
I truly appreciate your channel. NO ONE has ever educated me about black hair. Im very grateful to learn a lot from you :) God bless you as you thrive.
U betta teach us something we ain't know!....I knew there waa a reason I neva used rice water and I'm not going too. I am all for natural remedies for my hair. I cut out being a PJ long time ago, especially if the ingredients aren't whole. I'm 52 and not concerned with long hair, just healthy!. Thank U. I'm glad I happened upon ur channel a lil while ago!. Let's get this Rose Nectar going so I can be all up in it!....Thank U, Cyn!....#amazing
Gurllll Thanks for this information.i try this porosity test and it is low .i am an older girl. And dont or didn't no what to do.but i need help glad i found you.
You are so informative, I've been watching your videos for a while. I said to myself when I go to Las Vegas I wanna get a appointment with you. Then we moved to Arizona, and I was seriously heart broken when I found out you don't do hair anymore. I tried the rice water fad one time and my low porosity hair wasn't having it so I knew it wasn't for me. I do have trouble keeping moisture in my hair and this video came on time. I'll keep hoping and praying you'll do hair again so I can drive on over to Vegas to get slayed. Keep giving us all this great information and God Bless you.
Yes every tip you suggested I learned about my hair and already do. I have low porosity hair. Thank you for your suggestions and I will definitely be trying chebe , I will believe it will be what I have been looking for because I get my hair to grow but can't retain the length my ends always dry faster and end up breaking and splitting. I will be trying the products you suggested .
First off when I say I didn't know you became a full time RUclipsr and the fact that you are a licensed hairstylist I'm here for all the videos all the advice I'm here for it all even the nuggets okay
Thank you, Cyn Doll! If you would, please advise best products for low / high porosity. As of today, I think I may have determined that I'm low porosity. I researched & found a video that suggested doing a water test to determine porosity level. For ladies that might be interested in the water test, you simply put water in a glass & take a clean strand (w/o product) of your hair & drop it in the glass of water. If your hair strand stays on top of the water, it's low (doesn't retain moisture well). If the strand sinks to the bottom, it's high (retains moisture well) 4 hours later, my strand of hair is still floating atop the water which is definitely seems consistent with my natural hair being consistently dry. I'm not a hair care professional by any means, in fact, I'm the worst at taking care of my hair, so Cyn Doll will be able to enlighten us on the validity of this porosity test.
BTW, Cyn Doll, your video stopped me from trying the rice water. I don't even eat rice, but went to the store specifically to buy rice bc of the latest rave & lack of moisture retention. Because I didn't know how to create the concoction, I hopped on YT & typed "rice water". Your video was the 1st to appear!!! Your explanation made so much sense. TY!
What is your hair texture? Kimberly Cherelle has videos on low porosity hair products for 4A 4B textures and Nappyfu has a lot of videos on low porosity hair with a 4c texture
Thank you for sharing, Loradonna! Some time ago, I believe I may have glanced at those channels. The hair texture I self proclaim is 4c, only bc it's super, super tightly coiled. Gurl, I'm working with a head full of high maintenance "Nigerian - Chad women, beady bee" hair (no offense to any1) It grows, it's just soooo dry & I've always been so lazy when it comes to caring for my hair until recently when having to do the "big chop" for the 3rd time in 10y bc it dreaded & matted again after I kept it braided under a sew-in for over 9m. The sight of my hair in such a state made me pause & question my lack of attention towards my hair. The new growth was so long, but the braids were so dreaded & matted they intertwined/connected becoming 1 piece that looked like a crocheted baby blanket. Like, I could lift it (the entire blanket) from my scalp. Though, I was washing it every 3-4 weeks & applying castor oil to my scalp, it still dreaded/matted. And, I know I shouldn't have left it braided so long, however, admittedly, I allowed business travel, work, life etc to take priority. I've learned that my hair demands space for sure! So, I twist it every 2 weeks & wear a wig.
My hair breaks way too easily. Even when I was a kid, my hair never grew past my ears. My journey started when I was going to the hair salon every two weeks but they still couldn't tell me why my hair was breaking. I only recently found out that small cornrows and braids have been breaking my hair so I have to stop doing that. The longest my hair has ever been is when I just stopped styling it and wore a patted in afro with a loose head band. So it makes sense. Please do a video on physical mechanical damage, overstyling damage and tension and over manipulation.
Love how you subtle as we have been fed BS every day. I get so mad with my boyfriend thinking that you have to be mixed to have long hair blond hair and straight hair. Man 2e need re educating and Cyn you are giving it to us left right and center🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💯💯💯💯💯
On Spring Break, It's Storming Outside, and I am About to Binge Watch some more of your videos. I watched this one earlier and loved watching the women using chebe.
Thank you for this video. It really helped me to see why too much protein is not good. I thought the more the better. I have noticed how my hair went from not tangled after washing to tangled and drying quick, quick, quick. My hair is not long, but it did stay wet longer because I had reached good moisture, but now I have to get back to work on that. I just dumped my rice water. I saw the change in my hair and knew why with video, but the other video didn't scare me at all. This is proof that I can relate to because I see it. Keep talking girl! Science!
Thanks for this. I just cut my hair really low to start over and I’ve been looking all over for low porosity hair tips. I just got the low porosity e book and it is very helpful ❤️❤️
OMG. I just love your personality....I crack up in every video. Bless up sis, I’m learning so much from you. Great content, and so unique from everybody else who’s on this how to grow your hair one inch overnight b.s.
Sis! I love you 💯 I also love the fact that you keep saying 'Black Gurl'!!😂❤ When I saw your videos about rice water (arsenic water) I was shocked! Thank God I've not used that thing more than 5-7 times? I know that's a lot but it's definitely better than those that have been using it for years!😬 When I watched the first video I was like oh, maybe I'll just soak the rice in water for like one day then throw the arsenic water out. But damn, I watched all the videos and was like 'Nah. I ain't putting that shit in my hair.'😂 I'm desperate to grow my hair (and I'm still desperate) 'cos it's been two years and it's barely 9" But sis, I ain't dying to grow hair! Anyways, I love your honesty and I'm so glad I saw your video!❤❤❤
I always have that issue when coloring my hair too lol. As soon as I dye it I swear the next two days I start to see black dots and then by a few weeks I have more new growth. So color does not stunt growth like you said
Rice water is an asian oriental product however even though we don't have loads of cuticles on afro 4v hair .we can still use it but years shea butter would be a greater advantage as it's so beneficial for our hair to retain length. Your information is 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Do not generalize it to the entire continent. Only a minority of ethnic groups think of it has a beauty trait. A lot of women started to become bald and edgeless due to improper hair care, wearing too much wigs and weaves during long periods.
Hello queen just gained a new sub I’ve been surfing RUclips for the last few hours and I’ve saw so many videos on growing hair fast, oils etc sooooo much but everyone’s hair was so long already. I came across this video and the light bulb went off. In glad to have found someone who is very knowledgeable about our hair and how to take care of it!!! God send!
Can you please do a video on high porosity hair!! I loved this video -Also on how to have a healthy scalp -how to detoxify scalp -and some protective hairstyle!! -also what do you think about ACV rinses
Your making me want to go blonde Cyn😊😂😂 You can absolutely have healthy colored hair if you have a consistent regimen, get your hair trimmed every 3-4 months and use olaplex No.3, while colored and have a healthy lifestyle. I got a super short Bob and my hair is on it's way to bra strength length in a year and a half. Consistency is key and not overdoing it is important as well. I am going to try some of the products you linked. Loved this video❤
Yes!! My granddaughter has low porosity hair and I wet her hair and let her play in the tub for while before shampoo and conditioner . Same with olaplex 3, I make sure her hair is warmed up and able to accept the product.
My daughter is half Ethiopian and they have 3a hair sometimes 2 hair type. My daughter came out with 3a hair. East africa. She is the last pic in my profile pic...btw...Your hair is beautiful. I have 4 type hair... I wear braids always.. it’s thick very dry...and the only thing that keeps it moisturized in braids is Vaseline...it works wonders... most People are negative about putting Vaseline into the hair but I tell you my hair has become more soft after washing it mind you I have very thick dry 4C hair.I’d like to see you do a video or find out what your opening of putting Vaseline into the hair remember Vaseline is known for keeping the moisture in and not letting any moisture out but I promise you that stuff is a lifesaver for my hair. My hair grows 1 inch per month
I put coconut oil dax grease on my daughters scalp and edges after i moisturize and wet it. Her strands are very very very fragile. I am able to keep the hair ends in tact with it. I fold her ends inward and band them the way 22nd century does her daughters bands
Low porosity girl I've always been low porosity when it comes to gels protein and things I would simultaneously take vitamins and my hair would be pretty long, but broken off at the ends. So I'm really sure what she says about protein is very true
Rose Nectar video please. I've seen this documentary before about this tribe of women, and the Sheabei appliacation. Too much work for me. I just have a problem with maintaining moisture. Severe dry hair, and skin over here. You are right about being "Product Junkies" . Every time something new came out I was on it. Thank God Sally's Beauty has a good return policy. I had to go back to the "Basic Product" that have worked on my hair for years. Thanks for the information. Your hair is the truth. Love the color and cut!
Whyyyyyy am I obsessed with her having blonde hair!!? Also Akaline water CAN be over done and cause gastrointestinal issues. You can develop alkalosis. nausea vomiting hand tremors muscle twitching (remember your heart is a muscle) tingling in the extremities or face confusion
I recently enrolled in cosmetology school and you're reinforcing a lot of what I'm learning in a more understanding way for me and I greatly appreciate it ❤❤❤
About six years ago when my hair was two inches, I tried a mud-type of shampoo on my hair that came highly recommended, then ended up with an inch of hair afterwards. I was flabbergasted to say the least. I threw that pricey mud in the trash. Lesson learned... Anyhoo, I'm clicking on your affiliate links! Thank you🌸 so much for another great and informative video 🌺
Hey CynDoll, your skin looks beautiful and glowing. Yes I'm aware of the group and other groups of African women whose hair is thriving, textured, long, and BEAUTIFUL. I have low porosity hair and although I've had long hair the majority of my life, I am psychotic when it comes to what I put on it, low manipulation, and I'm a wash and set girl until I perish😄. Reformed product junkie😉. Thanks queen for this video, your spirit, and humor. I got a big head and beautiful edges😅
Finally found the Video for my New found information Low Porosity Hair.🙏🙏 Found my Chebe Butter for $16.00. It will be here Today!!!!!🙏🙏🙏. I can't say Thank You Enough Cyn!!!🤗🤗👍👍🌹🌹💯💯💯
I love how you keep it real about everything. I’ll definitely continue watching you and I only seen a few videos and I want to know more about low porosity hair because I just learned that’s my hair porosity thanks to you ❤️
Thank God for you, I had no idea about hair. My hair has been locked for over 3 years. It's growing like crazy. I use essential oils along with different oils.
I know this is an older video, but this cut and color on you is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much

CYN the deal is I’m low porosity and if I don’t use a strength or protein every 6 or 8 weeks my hair breaks. Moisture is just not enough.
On Spring Break, It's Storming Outside, and I am About to Binge Watch some more of your videos. I watched this one earlier and loved watching the women using chebe.
Low porosity pt 2 plz. 💜
When I watch your videos my 1 year old claps so hard. He has such a crush on you!
AJ Nicole 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕omg so cute!
No problem love! I have a new length check coming this week! I'm so glad the eBook helped!
@@IamCynDoll yayyyy. you know ill be tuning in !!!

Hi gorgeous,
You gave out some very informative information here. Thank you for them all.
Btw... you are looking amazing and your hair is gorgeous!
M. Sam’uel thanks sooo much love!!!!
Gurlll you are on point and comical. I enjoyed watching
OMG. I just love your personality....I crack up in every video. Bless up sis, I’m learning so much from you. Great content, and so unique from everybody else who’s on this how to grow your hair one inch overnight b.s.
Your videos are always so informative. Please do a rose nectar video. 😊
Sis! I love you 💯 I also love the fact that you keep saying 'Black Gurl'!!😂❤
When I saw your videos about rice water (arsenic water) I was shocked! Thank God I've not used that thing more than 5-7 times? I know that's a lot but it's definitely better than those that have been using it for years!😬
When I watched the first video I was like oh, maybe I'll just soak the rice in water for like one day then throw the arsenic water out. But damn, I watched all the videos and was like 'Nah. I ain't putting that shit in my hair.'😂 I'm desperate to grow my hair (and I'm still desperate) 'cos it's been two years and it's barely 9"
But sis, I ain't dying to grow hair!
Anyways, I love your honesty and I'm so glad I saw your video!❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this! Can't wait for the medium to high porosity videos 😍
iamtrinaful ❤️❤️❤️❤️
can you show us different ways and mixtures on how to use the chebe powder ?
Jael Meade ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes please
So just learned from your other video today I am low porosity and ran 🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️🏃🏾♀️to this video!! Please school me Cyn 🙃
Hi Cyn
Can you do more videos for low porosity hair and the rose nectar?
Thanks you and I love all your videos
Love it he color, looks good on you❤️
thank you joy
I always have that issue when coloring my hair too lol. As soon as I dye it I swear the next two days I start to see black dots and then by a few weeks I have more new growth. So color does not stunt growth like you said
HA!!! love it! 4C hair is not from China. You have made my day. You don't want to look like Pocahontas.
Girl, you have taken me to school on our hair. Thank you!!
ladygg6 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes
Rice water is an asian oriental product however even though we don't have loads of cuticles on afro 4v hair .we can still use it but years shea butter would be a greater advantage as it's so beneficial for our hair to retain length. Your information is 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
I am in the wrong country. You mean to tell me that having no edges is acceptable and considered beautiful in Africa. Let me get a plane ticket.
Miranda Moore 😂😂😂😂😂 You just took me out!! 😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️
Do not generalize it to the entire continent. Only a minority of ethnic groups think of it has a beauty trait. A lot of women started to become bald and edgeless due to improper hair care, wearing too much wigs and weaves during long periods.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm African and having no edges isn't beautiful.
Makes good sense to me n Carolina I'm Low porosity and right now I'm trying to know my hair u is doing a wonderful job. God bless you.
God send!

Prettymelanin ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you thank you CYN!!!! For taking the time out to give this information I absolutely love your channel. 🥰🥰🥰
Shantese Cooper-Tull thank you so much for watching love!
Christia S. Thanks so much love!!!
Yes! Rose nectar info plz! ☺️☺️🙂🙃🌷🌷
Yes!! My granddaughter has low porosity hair and I wet her hair and let her play in the tub for while before shampoo and conditioner . Same with olaplex 3, I make sure her hair is warmed up and able to accept the product.
Another great video TFS.
This African Auntie loves you Cyn Doll...Keep teaching the community.
GlobalCeTZen ❤️❤️❤️❤️💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you sis, I'm new to your channel and I love how you break down and explain in detail. Keep it up!
❤️❤️❤️
I would like a video where you recomend us some productos that are good for low porosity natural hair, i want to stop buying wrong products .
Yes I would love a video on how to use rose nectar on low porosity hair.
KIM Hill ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so grateful for you ! Thank you for kicking the ballistics ! This is real talk !!!

cece smith ❤️❤️❤️💕💕
Low porosity girl I've always been low porosity when it comes to gels protein and things I would simultaneously take vitamins and my hair would be pretty long, but broken off at the ends. So I'm really sure what she says about protein is very true
How about doing a lesson on color treated hair
Yes please do a series...
IAMDIVINELYGUIDED ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rose Nectar video please. I've seen this documentary before about this tribe of women, and the Sheabei appliacation. Too much work for me. I just have a problem with maintaining moisture. Severe dry hair, and skin over here. You are right about being "Product Junkies" . Every time something new came out I was on it. Thank God Sally's Beauty has a good return policy. I had to go back to the "Basic Product" that have worked on my hair for years. Thanks for the information. Your hair is the truth. Love the color and cut!
nioka scott ❤️❤️💕
Thanks for the info. How do u feel about silicone on low porosity hair???
Sheena Robinson if you can’t open the cuticle already the last thing you want to do is put silicone on it.
I really appreciate you, thank you for this information Doll.
Cyn giving T-Boz vibes with this lesson, baby, baby, baby!
I want to know more about the alkaline water! Where to buy???

The Queen J ❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜Heyyyy gurrlll!!!!
@@IamCynDoll hey queen! Love your Channel❤
Your hair looks amazing 😻😻😻😻
Whyyyyyy am I obsessed with her having blonde hair!!?
Also Akaline water CAN be over done and cause gastrointestinal issues. You can develop alkalosis.
nausea
vomiting
hand tremors
muscle twitching (remember your heart is a muscle)
tingling in the extremities or face
confusion
Ohh yess we need a tutorial on how to use it for people who wear wigs & sewins
Alexis Sade' ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I recently enrolled in cosmetology school and you're reinforcing a lot of what I'm learning in a more understanding way for me and I greatly appreciate it ❤❤❤

Like all your shows thanks you or very good.
Yesss preach, I do steam treatments and plastic caps👍

amoryll36 thanks gurrrlll❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank God for you, I had no idea about hair. My hair has been locked for over 3 years. It's growing like crazy. I use essential oils along with different oils.
Thank u so much!! Very Informative information that will help me pay better attention to what I put into hair.
I love your videos. Can you do a video about your opinion on co-washing? Personally, I do not believe that using a conditioner will clean the scalp.
