That and cats like to rub their scent on whatever you're sticking your nose into (like your phone, laptop, or a book) for long periods of time. They do this because they think it's important to you since you're spending a lot of time with it so they mark it with their scent. It's kind of like them saying, "If it's important to you then it's important to me" Also cats don't like when you give something else more attention, they can show signs of jealousy 😂 Factor all of that together and you have what's presented in the video

Same. Went through something similar with my ginger cat during high school years. Was a stray which followed us home back around 2002 and passed away in 2008. Never had another one since. Just too sad losing them.
I love when cats try to get your attention and then when you push them away they just sit down and angrily thump their tails repeatedly on the desk. So cute.
My cat is the opposite. She is tranquil but if you pick her up and give her a kiss she spends the next 45 minutes thumping her tail. She will also roll on her back, exposing her belly as if she wants to be pet, and thump her tail the whole time.

Ok I'm a big cat lover myself, but that impression is just romanticized and naive! 😂 Cats got three natural attributes which make them interfere with everything their "human employees" are busy doing: Curious, vain and desperate for attention (at least as long as they're not the center of attention). So no cat - I say this with love and amusement - has ever laid down on a keyboard or newspaper or knitting set with the honest intention to be of actual help. 😉

There are strategies to make school and studying more interesting. I began learning them in 8th grade, from a few great teachers, and did much better in high school, including learning how to pick the right teachers with the right teaching style that matched my learning style. Then high school classes became a lot more fun and interesting, and the extracurricular activities really made my days. I learned for college to go to the college bookstore to check out the required books for each class, to find the class that suited my learning style. (The right kind of math or Spanish book can make or break my semester.) Life is so much more fun and rewarding when you have as much education as you can pack in while you're young. It's no fun being an adult having to play education catch-up while working to support yourself. A neighbor told my immigrant father, "There are 2 doors in life in America, vocationally, economically, and socially. One says '4-year degree," the other says, "no 4-year degree." This is true. Study your derriere off to get straight As, or the best grades you can, and you'll have way more fun and satisfaction in school and in life.

Aww that's cute. My cat does the opposite sometimes. If I get up much later than usual, he'll stay in my room and won't leave my side until I get up, even when offered breakfast by someone else. I hope he doesn't worry lol. Cats are very sensitive to routines, and he knows when something's off.

exactly. i find having a cat to study with eases the stress of school immensely. i'm also convinced they can sense when you're stressed. my cat doesn't usually like to sleep on desks, but as soon as i'm doing schoolwork or a puzzle she comes and lies down right next to me. one time she lied on my keyboard while i was doing an online math test and sent a bunch of emails with gibberish to my teacher.

I am a student. My sweetest, softest, most adorable angel of a cat passed away a few days ago. Because he was suffering too much and it was only going to get worse, I went to the veterinarian with him to let him sleep in forever. I would do anything for him to do this again. To bother me endlessly while I'm trying to study, to walk all over my syllabus, to try to lie down on my laptop, to snooze right next to me on the table or on my lap. He's my sweetest and I miss him very much. Lots of kisses to you, my sweetest.
My 24 year old son had to put down his 20 year old cat. We really miss her, but she had a long wonderful life. She studied with him from first grade all the way through 5 years of electrical school. Her name was Zelda. She also was a hell of a video gamer! 💕

That's literally me and my cat. She sleeps next to me and whenever she misses pets she paws at my face. All throughout college she'd sit on my lap..on my text book in my lap!!! lol It's like every 15 mins she was like "Nope, you need a break. PETS FOR ME!!!"
Wow I did not think that this would get so many likes so my cat is my emotional support companion for mental illness and I spoil her ruthlessly I got through college because of her support with my chronic anxiety disorder and so she has two cat trees they are not very expensive and tons of toys because Maine Coons need a lot of human interaction and they love to hunt so she cannot always be outside because I want to watch her and so yes she is spoiled I am looking for a mixed Maine coon I got her from a breeder and she was determined to be defective because she has a leaky eye duct and the breeders basically sold her to me discounted because they didn't want to keep her they didn't want to breed her and I had been looking for a reject Maine coon basically like something that the breeder would consider to be not perfection and therefore reject you know because I don't want to buy a perfectly healthy purebred cat and feed the system I want the ones that other breeders would consider to be defective and she has been absolutely perfect she is healthy otherwise she passed all of her genetic tests and contrary to belief the Maine Coons are not really anymore expensive they just need to be well groomed and the same type of yearly checkups that you would do for your animal but yeah so if you're looking to buy a purebred look into the ones that need like more care if you feel guilty about buying a purebred animal and make sure you're just buying from a very reputable source this got really deep over just a simple comment but I just wanted to like throw that out there because I felt really guilty when I wanted to get a Maine Coon because they are like a dog but I don't have time for a dog and they are so affectionate they are very high energy have a very strong personality I highly recommend looking into mixed Maine Coons as well cuz they also have a lot of really similar traits with a purebred Maine Coon edit I forgot to mention so 14 years ago in New Jersey where I bought her and her being discounted I was living with my dad and she was only $600 depending upon the coat the color of the coat Maine Coons can run anywhere from $1,200 to $3,000 especially in the state that I live now in New York
I dated a girl once who had the sweetest and most intelligent cat. Whenever I did some work from her place it would do exactly that, and sit on my laptop looking up at me. Me and the girl drifted apart quite quickly, but I kept going back because of the cat. One night I was drunk at home and she called me to ask why I was still seeing her; to which I said "well, there's lots of booze at your house and I really like your cat," before passing out. We never spoke again. I still miss that cat.
Some might say this makes studying more difficult, but for me it's quite the contrary. Not only does it make studying less stressful, but more memorable when you have a kitty to keep you company throughout the experience. In simple terms, for me it's the difference between "Ugh, I only remember what some of the answers are" and "Ugh, thanks to my cat it took a while for me to highlight everything, especially when I was highlighting (insert test answer here)... Wait a minute! I actually remembered that one!"
My cat is the kind that sits on my lap all the time, so he'd surely encourage me to take breaks, as my frickin cheeks start to hurt when i have to sit down for a long time on a cheapy chair, while holding the extra weight of a furball on top of my legs. This actually already happens when i'm in front of the pc so i know exactly what i'm talking about, gotta get up and walk because i can't feel my ass anymore! 🤣 Sure, that probably makes studying take longer, but at least i ain't overdoing it for hours on end.
Nah my experience studying with a cat is very hard. It is manageable if your study consists of short burst of attention like when your homework breaks down in small unrelated questions. But if you are trying to figure out how an algorithm work, it is a nightmare because of constant distraction.

I've experience it too. They are the only distractions that I want. Oh how much I love them. Sometimes I don't want them to sleep with me for their own benefits. Two days after bringing my rescue cat home, she took up vacancy on my textbooks. 11 years of this behavior, and it's expanded to keyboards, backs of chairs, cups of water (she has a fancy water bowl that I change regularly, she just likes to use cups), and even my pillow while I'm trying to sleep on it! Ah, to experience the love of a cat.

Cats like to drink out of cups they have seen their humans drink out of - it's a sign that they trust your judgement in that the water is of good quality! If you want to encourage your kitty to drink from her designated drinking spot more often, try sitting near her when she goes to drink from her bowl. She'll associate your proximity with the water being safe, just as she would with watching you drink from your cups and glasses.
@@tessabakker662 The bowl's not far from my bed/desk. When I first got the circulating water bowl, I made sure to pet and encourage her gently whenever she was near it/used it. I like to imagine the cup thing is her way of reminding me that she's a lady of class :P
This was my cat when I went to college. She knew that me sitting by the computer meant that I won't be giving her attention, so she would lay on my keyboard whenever I got home. Regardless, I was grateful to have my furry companion by my side as I stressing out for midterms and final exams. Got through college and went through other milestones in my life with her. RIP Honey. I miss you!
Sometimes when I see a cute cat and the bond that it has with it's human, I begin to bawl like a baby because of cuteness overload and I just keep wishing for a kitty :') I hope to have an annoying and fuzzy homework companion one day.

Back in high school when I stayed up past midnight trying to do my homework my cat would always jump on the computer desk and lay down over all my papers and go to sleep. I huffed at him because he prevented me from finishing my work but his presence always helped relieved the stress. Seeing this reminds me of those times and it brings tears to my eyes. I love watching someone in a deep study session. There's something about watching a human reading something and they figure something out - something clicks - the lightbulb comes on. It's a beautiful thing. I think the cat knows this and loves watching you too, and tries to lighten up the mood here and there when he senses you getting stressed out. 😀😉
When my mom used to help me with my homework, the cat would always slink around and even jump on the arm of my mom’s rocking chair 🤣 my mom would ask our cat: “YOU know the answer to this question?” or “Would you like to come study with us?”

This happens alot to me. Especially when there's an upcoming exam and I'm studying outside with my cats, they usually just sleep on my book and I'm unable to read or go to the next page. I find it really cute but I also need to study haha.

@@candiceruth10 it's not hard to find, really. I've lived with cats my whole life. All were different personalities, but all very sweet and affectionate. But the more love you give them, the more you get back in return. I wouldn't call it unconditional. I don't think love actually should be...it's earned, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just invest time, love, affection, and patience, and you'll have your best friend in the world! I've had mine for over 14 years now. ❤️
I wouldn't say they're hard to find, each cat is just different. Some are very shy and some like attention at certain times. It's just sweet to see a cat THIS affectionate 😊 it means they're very happy and are loved by their human

As someone who has lived all my life around cats, I can say most assuredly you are right. They know when something’s wrong and they’ll appear to comfort. My sweet baby Caspian honestly kept me alive when I was battling depression.
My cat does this when I'm streaming games with my friends. He's so big, he blocks both of my monitors. He sits on my mouse, even when my hand is on it and regularly parks his behind on the edge of the keyboard, enough to keep getting me killed 😂 *edit* I wouldn't mind so much if he chose a position and stuck to it, he does what yours does and keeps moving around every 30 seconds

I struggled with studying for school at your age. There are strategies to make school and studying more interesting. I began learning them in 8th grade, from a few great teachers, and did much better in high school, including learning how to pick the right teachers with the right teaching style that matched my learning style. Then high school classes became a lot more fun and interesting, and the extracurricular activities really made my days. I learned for college to go to the college bookstore to check out the required books for each class, to find the class that suited my learning style. (The right kind of math or Spanish book can make or break my semester.) Life is so much more fun and rewarding when you have as much education as you can pack in while you're young. It's no fun being an adult having to play education catch-up while working to support yourself. A neighbor told my immigrant father, "There are 2 doors in life in America, vocationally, economically, and socially. One says '4-year degree," the other says, "no 4-year degree." This is true. Study your derriere off to get straight As, or the best grades you can, and you'll have way more fun and satisfaction in school and in life.

exactly. i find having a cat to study with eases the stress of school immensely. i'm also convinced they can sense when you're stressed. my cat doesn't usually like to sleep on desks, but as soon as i'm doing schoolwork or a puzzle she comes and lies down right next to me. one time she lied on my keyboard while i was doing an online math test and sent a bunch of emails with gibberish to my teacher.

I am a student. My sweetest, softest, most adorable angel of a cat passed away a few days ago. Because he was suffering too much and it was only going to get worse, I went to the veterinarian with him to let him sleep in forever.
I would do anything for him to do this again. To bother me endlessly while I'm trying to study, to walk all over my syllabus, to try to lie down on my laptop, to snooze right next to me on the table or on my lap.
He's my sweetest and I miss him very much. Lots of kisses to you, my sweetest.

My 24 year old son had to put down his 20 year old cat. We really miss her, but she had a long wonderful life.
She studied with him from first grade all the way through 5 years of electrical school.
Her name was Zelda. She also was a hell of a video gamer! 💕

Wow I did not think that this would get so many likes so my cat is my emotional support companion for mental illness and I spoil her ruthlessly I got through college because of her support with my chronic anxiety disorder and so she has two cat trees they are not very expensive and tons of toys because Maine Coons need a lot of human interaction and they love to hunt so she cannot always be outside because I want to watch her and so yes she is spoiled I am looking for a mixed Maine coon I got her from a breeder and she was determined to be defective because she has a leaky eye duct and the breeders basically sold her to me discounted because they didn't want to keep her they didn't want to breed her and I had been looking for a reject Maine coon basically like something that the breeder would consider to be not perfection and therefore reject you know because I don't want to buy a perfectly healthy purebred cat and feed the system I want the ones that other breeders would consider to be defective and she has been absolutely perfect she is healthy otherwise she passed all of her genetic tests and contrary to belief the Maine Coons are not really anymore expensive they just need to be well groomed and the same type of yearly checkups that you would do for your animal but yeah so if you're looking to buy a purebred look into the ones that need like more care if you feel guilty about buying a purebred animal and make sure you're just buying from a very reputable source this got really deep over just a simple comment but I just wanted to like throw that out there because I felt really guilty when I wanted to get a Maine Coon because they are like a dog but I don't have time for a dog and they are so affectionate they are very high energy have a very strong personality I highly recommend looking into mixed Maine Coons as well cuz they also have a lot of really similar traits with a purebred Maine Coon edit I forgot to mention so 14 years ago in New Jersey where I bought her and her being discounted I was living with my dad and she was only $600 depending upon the coat the color of the coat Maine Coons can run anywhere from $1,200 to $3,000 especially in the state that I live now in New York

Me and the girl drifted apart quite quickly, but I kept going back because of the cat. One night I was drunk at home and she called me to ask why I was still seeing her; to which I said "well, there's lots of booze at your house and I really like your cat," before passing out. Some might say this makes studying more difficult, but for me it's quite the contrary. Not only does it make studying less stressful, but more memorable when you have a kitty to keep you company throughout the experience.
In simple terms, for me it's the difference between "Ugh, I only remember what some of the answers are" and "Ugh, thanks to my cat it took a while for me to highlight everything, especially when I was highlighting (insert test answer here)... Wait a minute! I actually remembered that one!"
i've heard that studying (or really, doing anything productive) with a cat helps you focus longer :)

Nah my experience studying with a cat is very hard. It is manageable if your study consists of short burst of attention like when your homework breaks down in small unrelated questions. But if you are trying to figure out how an algorithm work, it is a nightmare because of constant distraction.

Cats like to drink out of cups they have seen their humans drink out of - it's a sign that they trust your judgement in that the water is of good quality! If you want to encourage your kitty to drink from her designated drinking spot more often, try sitting near her when she goes to drink from her bowl. She'll associate your proximity with the water being safe, just as she would with watching you drink from your cups and glasses.

This was my cat when I went to college. She knew that me sitting by the computer meant that I won't be giving her attention, so she would lay on my keyboard whenever I got home. Regardless, I was grateful to have my furry companion by my side as I stressing out for midterms and final exams. Got through college and went through other milestones in my life with her.

Sometimes when I see a cute cat and the bond that it has with it's human, I begin to bawl like a baby because of cuteness overload and I just keep wishing for a kitty :') I hope to have an annoying and fuzzy homework companion one day.

Back in high school when I stayed up past midnight trying to do my homework my cat would always jump on the computer desk and lay down over all my papers and go to sleep. I huffed at him because he prevented me from finishing my work but his presence always helped relieved the stress. Seeing this reminds me of those times and it brings tears to my eyes. Rest in peace Momo, I miss you.

I love watching someone in a deep study session. There's something about watching a human reading something and they figure something out - something clicks - the lightbulb comes on. It's a beautiful thing. I think the cat knows this and loves watching you too, and tries to lighten up the mood here and there when he senses you getting stressed out. 😀😉

When my mom used to help me with my homework, the cat would always slink around and even jump on the arm of my mom’s rocking chair 🤣 my mom would ask our cat: “YOU know the answer to this question?” or “Would you like to come study with us?”
We have cat at work (yes, we all look after her and there are people there 24/7). She seems to know exactly which piece of paper I need to refer to and unerringly chooses to sit on it. Its a good job I love her...

Ignore the others. I agree. Being immunocompromised and having a cat who is even more immunocompromised (on chemo and steroids), I can't live a normal life anymore. Not sure when I will again. I'd love to go back to 2013.

This happens alot to me. Especially when there's an upcoming exam and I'm studying outside with my cats, they usually just sleep on my book and I'm unable to read or go to the next page. I find it really cute but I also need to study haha.

@@candiceruth10 it's not hard to find, really. I've lived with cats my whole life. All were different personalities, but all very sweet and affectionate. But the more love you give them, the more you get back in return. I wouldn't call it unconditional. I don't think love actually should be...it's earned, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just invest time, love, affection, and patience, and you'll have your best friend in the world! I've had mine for over 14 years now. ❤️
I wouldn't say they're hard to find, each cat is just different. Some are very shy and some like attention at certain times. It's just sweet to see a cat THIS affectionate 😊 it means they're very happy and are loved by their human

As someone who has lived all my life around cats, I can say most assuredly you are right. They know when something’s wrong and they’ll appear to comfort. My sweet baby Caspian honestly kept me alive when I was battling depression.

My cat does this when I'm streaming games with my friends. He's so big, he blocks both of my monitors. He sits on my mouse, even when my hand is on it and regularly parks his behind on the edge of the keyboard, enough to keep getting me killed 😂 *edit* I wouldn't mind so much if he chose a position and stuck to it, he does what yours does and keeps moving around every 30 seconds
