I admit I cant manage being jammed into a can like this, fair play to you Noel for taking these hits for us!
I'm a normal Cebu-Pacific user, i've boarded their A320-200's (mostly), I've boarded their A330-300's once, never the NEO's first. I don't really mind the bad seating lol, but i do understand that it's quite uncomfortable for some people. To me, you get what you paid for. You paid to travel to a location, you get there without luxury. Cebu Pacific, to me, is just one of the better uncomfortable planes that you can really book with in the Philippines. There's loads of horrible airlines in the Philippines, with Cebu Pacific just being the best one of them all. I was quite hesitant to even click on this video, since the comments we're expecting a more "luxury" type of service than-of a normal budget airliner. But I understand if this airline wasn't your taste. I am open for any criticism for what you have to say. To me, I don't really care about the comfort that Cebu Pacific should offer, but rather the friendliness of the staff and how good the food is on that flight. Either way, that is my opinion, and i'm open for the opinions of other commentors, and probably you.
Cebu Pacific aims for a very specific market, and they have been very dedicated to meeting it. I guess for a couple of hours it might be tolerable, but even at 4 hours that would be pushing my limits. I am much more willing to part with a few more dollars not to have 20 people sharing my seat.
@@handler803nah, the "slaves and peasants" (overseas flipino workers) fly with philippine airlines and other legacy airlines for overseas flights, it's the filipino tourists who fly with cebu pacific because you do actually save a lot of money when you fly with them and there are places where 5J is the only one offering flights to and from manila (brunei, shenzhen, da nang, and kota kinabalu)
Hi Noel. I would like to comment on something in the video. You said that the A330Neo was designed for around 300, 350 passengers but in reality, the max pax configuration is 460 pax. It's the choice of every airline to choose how many passengers they carry in it. The maximum amount of passengers is limited by the amount of passengers a crew can evacuate in 90 seconds during certification of the aircraft. So Cebu can carry that many passengers on it, providing they also have the cabin crew for it. That is one cabin crew member per 50 passengers. In this case, you need a cabin crew of 10, you need an extra crew member for the 9 passengers making up the 9 in 459. Lol 😆
Thanks for this video Noel Phillips, thanks for the endurance, I don't think I can fly such an aircraft, it's too open for my liking, imagine stepping out of the loo and hundreds of eyes are starring at you,Oh my Gosh.
Noel you’re a champion for posting this but unfortunately I’m watching it several days too late as I’ve already booked return flights SYD-MNL for March 8.5hrs each way. Anyway thanks for heads up, forewarned is forearmed as they say. And it wasn’t a disaster by any means as your chicken dinner was good. The WC will need some planning on the 8.5hr flight.
Well, many Filipinos get to experience traveling to international destinations thanks to Cebu Pacific. The $150 that Noel paid can go as low as 60 to 80 if booked early. The dollars saved on a round trip can already be spent on accommodation and food. If they squeeze in onboard wifi (like Zipair), avoid incidents of overbooking and flight cancellations, and maintain prices, then they are perfect for most Filipinos.
The whole 'car wreck' sound clip at 2:38 sums up this video perfectly. I think that 460 pax being seated on an aircraft that's meant to hold 300 pax is going a tad bit overboard.
for people saying you can't evacuate... there are approximately 8 exits i think, there are 2 separate rooms, both economy, and all seats provided with life vest, and oxygen masks.
We flew with Cebu Pacific, and I find it fine it ok since our flight was only an hour long (Manila to Boracay). I felt like 45 minutes. Can't really complain for a cheap flight. Great video.
Noel, I was used to going to international flights from the philippines through cebu pacific, and now i'm here in the states with united, american, philippine airlines and it's a much better way of life. But cheap tickets- it does put you to the destination you want just like riding a jeepney lol!
...and the A330 has one if not the most advanced wing design in commercial aviation (because it was an improve from the A350 design). ...and same goes for the cockpit flight systems, inherited from the A350. The only problem with the A330 neo is its heavier cabin.
I once took Cebu Pacific from Manila to Dubai, about 9 hour, and I booked a seat in one of the sides with just two seats in the row, almost in the very rear. It cost around $125 for the ticket, so I took advantage of their offering to be able to buy the seat adjacent to you for another $125. So for $250 one way, I had lots of space with no one next to me. The cheapest economy seat on another airline at the time was around $350 one way, so it was a great deal. I added more for luggage, and a hot meal. The flight was on time too.

Now only if Ryanair or EasyJet had widebodies? At least that it wasn't too bad as the Dubai flight with Cebu Pacific, and thanks for visiting my country BTW! Come back here soon, and stay longer!
Obviously they did it but is it "legal" in all countries? Has Airbus done the required safety testing showing that that many people can be safely evacuated within the required time line? Reminds me of some of the densely packed 747's JAL used to fly on short commuter routes internally in Japan years ago.
Well, A330 is a "4 doors per side" aircraft, three of which are full size and 1 which is push out only (door 3 on either side). So there are 8 egress points. The extract times are pretty good, the distance to nearest door is good, distance to nearest alternate door is good as well. Standard configurations offer up to 440 seats, and with the removal of one set of lavs / middle galley that have gone up to 460. So you are adding 5% passengers. So the extraction time for the last passenger would go up an equal slight amount. You can see also in the video that the exit row is actually quite wide and easily accessed, and having no middle gallery on the plane actually makes it easier to see and use the least occupied exit in case of an emergency.
if the plane hadnt passed the required tests i doubt they would be able to offer it as an option , its also worth noting that this plane is for the asian market and people there are smaller in size than westerners so it wont be as tough as you may think space/exit wise
As a Guy who is 2.04m or 6.7ft tall the Amount of serious Knee Pain this Video gives me is staggering. You are an absolute Madlad for doing this Noel :'D
Filipino pilots sort of built a reputation on smooth and stable landings and this is one of the planes where they REALLY have to live up to that reputation or else there's 460 people back in the cabin with shattered pelvises from all the pressure.
I’m tall like you and can’t imagine how miserable this would be. That said, I must say that your videos just keep getting better and more entertaining all the time. Kudos to you for the fine work!
And I thought Malaysia's budget international carrier AirAsiaX is pretty tight but Cebu Pacific seems to have gone further. AirAsiaX is already pretty uncomfortably cramped for me who's some 10-15 cm shorter than Noel here. They've both managed to fit a 3-3-3 seat configuration for a plane that's mostly a 2-4-2. The food is decent though on the AAX.
CEB is more successful with this model overall because Filipinos in general are poorer than Malaysians. CEB's dirt cheap fares are already significant for the average Filipino salary.
To be clear, it's not like they hacked their way to this capacity. It's the maximum, but the plane is designed and certified to have that many passengers. Side note, now I kind of want to see an A380 setup like that (according to wikipedia, that's a capacity of 853 passengers!).
@@kakwaA330-900 was probably built for 440 pax max as per every regular 4 door widebody; the 460 limit necessitates a new modification for the doors to meet A+ requirement so as to squeeze those 20 ppl in. Without Cebu Pacific I doubt it would ever happen.
This catered for filipino overseas workers who just save up some money to go home for a vacation and the price has made it affordable....sacrificing the luxury seats for more passengers....
I now live in the Philippines. I see that both cebu pacific and Philippine airlines have been hauled in front of the.government in order to explain their shoddy service. Apparently, 40 to 50 percent of flights depart late. When I'm hopping around the Philippines, which is quite often, I always use air Asia. A much better service.
In my opinion, pre-Covid, Cebu Pacific was the most on-time of them all, Air Asia the worst. Post-Covid it appears all of them suffered. When I was in the Philippines in December 2022 there were lots of delays, not helped by poor airport operations/runway management. Looking at Flightradar24 recently, it looks like most flights depart reasonably on time. I'd happily fly Cebu Pacific to save money, and definitely on domestic flights. I just wish they'd improve their website somewhat.
Sawadee krub. Welcome to Bangkok. Hopefully you enjoy your time while be here. Perfect time actually as we're in the winter season so weather is not too hot to walk outside.
I think you could since it’s the maximum amount of passengers allowed on an a339 so the plane could handle it and I don’t think any civil aviation authority would allow a plane that has a risk like having more passengers than the exit limit
I cannot imagine the check in counter of this flight I remember the same thing in Japan full a330 flight everyone has a checked in baggage the line cross the whole airport. 😂
They did remove the lavatory at front but the ones forward of Door 3 remain and the one at the back was converted into 2 lavatories with one behind a jump seat (Like in the A320ACF)
Our flight is in April, Tokyo to Mel. The wife and kiddies get regular seats and I’ve forked out for more legroom. It was affordable, that’s all I can say. Next up is finding sleeping arrangements for a layover from 2am to midday.
PAL (Philippine Airlines) is also notorious for packing on the passengers. Back 27 years ago when I was flying to Jakarta for a job in Bogor, West Java, I flew a 747 to Singapore on Singapore Airlines. We were to leave at 2 AM and started loading at 1:45 and we were all set in ten minutes. Meanwhile, next to us was a PAL 747 bound for Manila that was leaving at 2:30 AM. They began loading at 1:30 and were still loading the passengers while we pulled out right on time at 2 AM.
Spot on and they're also known to do this on their longer flight routes like PR119/127 YYZ/JFK-MNL West Coast PR101/117/115/105/103/113 HNL/SFO/YVR/LAX-MNL. Cons PAL Philippine Airlines loses out to the premium competition like Eva Air SIngapore Airlines Cathay Pacific Korean Air Asiana JAL and ANA for that reason
Have you ever seen those drawings for stand up flights, where you just get a board to lean back on like at some bus stops? Or the double decker & staggered seating that crams in more people? Thing is, that would mean more luggage and catering too, but in the right situations where a lot of people need to go a short distance, maybe...
I have seen these and the LOAD FACTOR is the biggest problem. The stand up seats actually weigh almost the same as a regular seat. Right now most planes are flying over 105% LOAD FACTOR The designers put in a safety margin and the airlines are literally pushing it right to the absolute maximum of how much weight they can put in that plane before it can NEVER be able to take off. They only put on enough fuel for an extra 30 minutes per flight to maximize the LOAD FACTOR. Planes are so heavy, if there is an emergency and they have to land immediately after takeoff, the plane can NEVER land without crashing. We have seen these crashes quietly kept off the news
@@ocsrcusually they just dump fuel... the effects of dumped fuel are arguably not so great as it tends to evaporate and flow upwards in the atmosphere if done above certain altitude, however, it is also known that most neighborhoods next to airports are poorer and will usually have special treatment when getting into higher education, thus somewhat masking any mental damage done by fuel ingestion.
Haha, haven't even watched yet and I know how this is going yo go. I flied Cebu Pacific myself from Manila to Cebu once en route to another island. Air travel in the Phillipines is pretty awful: packed planes and airports, chronic delays...
Was that really Manila Airport? Looks much snazzier then when I was last there (i e: 2017). I have flown Cebu Pacific between Manila and Taipei, but suppose it wasn't this one (it was much emptier too) As soon as I saw that they removed the toilets, this was my instant thought: "boy it'll be tough waiting for the loo".
Just watched the video. I always wondered how Cebu airlines was. I guess if you need cheap ticket and less than 5 hours might be okay. I wonder what countries this configuration they can fly into. I also assume checked in bags were extra, but did they charge for carry on too?
To be fair though, Cebu Pacific caters mostly to small to medium sized asians especially Filipinos who averages at most 5'4 to 5'7 in height. Cebu Pacific started and is still a budget carrier who first wanted to give a chance for Filipinos to travel at a lower price per seat, allowing them to use the savings on their trip instead, and they want also to cater to Filipinos who are living/working abroad (OFWs) with a way for them to come home and see their families and get back to work in a pretty affordable price. Leg room wise, it is not great, but for us small Asians, it ain't bad either.
For the short flights not much of an issue. I’d be wary of flying 5J on the much longer flights >4-5hrs . Probably worth paying extra for the exit row seats even on the regional hops they use these A330s to.

Whenever Noel eats something… ‘that’s quite nice’ in a surprised tone 😂
10/10 for the Manscaped commercial
DVT express!!!! Hahahahaha, 😂 brilliant! Great review as always, cheers Noel.
"DVT express" 🤣 good one!!! While their A320s and ATRs are fine to ride on this one sounds crazy. Cant argue with the price if you just wanna get from A-B and can deal with the discomfort of narrow seats and much fewer bogs. I admit I cant manage being jammed into a can like this, fair play to you Noel for taking these hits for us!
Well, it looks like you lasso'ed the best seat on the plane. Thanks for showing us what it was like.
Yeah
The peasants and slaves market for long haul flights. For short flights, even rich people fly them
@@handler803nah, the "slaves and peasants" (overseas flipino workers) fly with philippine airlines and other legacy airlines for overseas flights, it's the filipino tourists who fly with cebu pacific because you do actually save a lot of money when you fly with them and there are places where 5J is the only one offering flights to and from manila (brunei, shenzhen, da nang, and kota kinabalu)
Lol 😆
Noel aboard a CEB A330 part 2: Electric Boogaloo...
Thanks for this video Noel Phillips, thanks for the endurance, I don't think I can fly such an aircraft, it's too open for my liking, imagine stepping out of the loo and hundreds of eyes are starring at you,Oh my Gosh.
It's a wonder they haven't got a roof rack for some passengers 😂
Isn’t that basically an A380? 😂
Or seats in the cargo hold.
Don’t give them ideas man 😂
Give them time and the next video made by Noel will be him sitting in the cargo hold.
Don't let Ryanair see this
You wouldn't see Hollywood Chui doing this flight.
Their literal company mission is to help all Filipinos fly at an affordable price.
The things you go though for us is incredible.
Thanks for including the price! Long may it continue.
Thanks. Really great review!👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Taking cattle class to a whole new extreme 🐮 🐄
The whole 'car wreck' sound clip at 2:38 sums up this video perfectly. I think that 460 pax being seated on an aircraft that's meant to hold 300 pax is going a tad bit overboard.
Anytime something horrendously goes wrong, I do my Noel Phillips "But, hey...never mind..."
Did you see that you can now get a 'Never mind' t-shirt or mug, on hid merch store? lol
Brilliant comment 👍🙂
Hi
for people saying you can't evacuate...
there are approximately 8 exits i think, there are 2 separate rooms, both economy, and all seats provided with life vest, and oxygen masks.
Another thanks for doing it so I don't make the same mistake! Love your videos and look forward to each one.
Thank you!
Love your comments and sarcasm Noel, less toilets to make room for
More passengers! Your dedication to entertain us !!
We flew with Cebu Pacific, and I find it fine it ok since our flight was only an hour long (Manila to Boracay). I felt like 45 minutes. Can't really complain for a cheap flight. Great video.
Thanks for sharing!
They should of placed the lavoratories down in the Cargo Hold like Thomas cook A330s did and they would of got a few more seats in
Noel, I was used to going to international flights from the philippines through cebu pacific, and now i'm here in the states with united, american, philippine airlines and it's a much better way of life. But cheap tickets- it does put you to the destination you want just like riding a jeepney lol!
Try Spring Airlines in China, they have the 240 seat A321! In China they call it a "real air bus/coach" lol🤣
I want to hate the A330…but the more I learn about it’s versatility the more I respect it…
...and the A330 has one if not the most advanced wing design in commercial aviation (because it was an improve from the A350 design). ...and same goes for the cockpit flight systems, inherited from the A350.
New subscriber here coming over after watching you on TikTok. I absolutely love the channel and binge watched video’s yesterday non stop for 14 hours…. And still many hundreds of videos to watch. Bravo well done 👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Yeah, I’m a bit dubious about the safety implications too.
Those former JAL 747s were the 747SR based off the -100 and then the 747-400D
I was just thinking the EXACT same thing
It’s the “Jeepney” of the sky, man!
You really like torture, Noel, don’t you?
Thats a true meaning of low cost carrier
As a Guy who is 2.04m or 6.7ft tall the Amount of serious Knee Pain this Video gives me is staggering. You are an absolute Madlad for doing this Noel :'D
I'm 6'1", and this gives me knee pains.
They will often give foreign western men the exit seats.
Thank you so much!
Hats off Noel! Ýou've got the grit of a true northerner, Even though you're officially a Southerner now.
Did it have extra emergency exits to achieve the evacuation time requirement?
Lol this would definitely be spirit if they got a hold of a A330 😭
I don't fly so I enjoy watching you do it for me.
Same tbf
The DVT express 🤣. Great video, as always
Thanks 👍
Airbus in the true sense of the word - a bus in the air.
Even fewer toilets to make way for seats, were the toilet queues long?!
I think that’s amazing that they could put an extra 160 seats on a A330 then what they’re originally supposed to have. 😃✈️
@@larryjohnwongthat's correct. 4 per side.
0:07 i do this. it’s relieving to see noel does it too
I wonder when Cebu Pacific will introduce standing room only, they might seat, I mean stand, 800 pax 😂
My Father flew on Aeroflot 30 years ago and a man had an assigned seat in the bathroom. He politely left when someone knocked to use the toilet.
For safety purposes you can't have standees on planes. Turbulence comes to mind. As well as taking off and landing
😂
@@shawnli4746 you just killed the joke 🤯
Some of the pacific boys are big boys, so this could be a tight squeeze
And here I was thinking you'd learnt your lesson from the last time you flew with Cebu 🤣🤣.You suffer so we don't have to lol
A much better service.
i’ve just booked multiple island hopping flights with pal and cebu pacific. i was told airasia are to be avoided and worst of the 3
In my opinion, pre-Covid, Cebu Pacific was the most on-time of them all, Air Asia the worst.
Makes you wonder how many will Cebu Pacific would fit on an A380 if they ever get one
Any airlines who wish to operate A380 will be at a disadvantage .
Manscaped is a real lowball company! Reaching new lows once again!
That can't be safe, there's no way in hell you'd be able evacuate that.
Prayers is the key ❤
I think you could since it’s the maximum amount of passengers allowed on an a339 so the plane could handle it and I don’t think any civil aviation authority would allow a plane that has a risk like having more passengers than the exit limit
@@adriannewey8171 yes even the 747-400 can carry 550 all economy
@@jjqq9456 exactly so can the 380 with 853
@@jjqq9456 I think that applies to the -300 with the -400 being 660
That is some going. I thought French Bee with 480 on their A350-1000 would take that title but 460 on an A330neo is mental.
dont want fried chicken for breakfast? MADNESS!
You are brave , indeed! I admire your adventure.
Thank you!
I cannot imagine the check in counter of this flight I remember the same thing in Japan full a330 flight everyone has a checked in baggage the line cross the whole airport. 😂
Does the flight even have first or business classes?
They did remove the lavatory at front but the ones forward of Door 3 remain and the one at the back was converted into 2 lavatories with one behind a jump seat (Like in the A320ACF)
I would make sure that I used the bathroom at the airport and I would order nothing to eat or drink until I landed.
When i the 440 seater of this to Manila from Narita it was a really long queue 😂
Spot on and they're also known to do this on their longer flight routes like PR119/127 YYZ/JFK-MNL West Coast PR101/117/115/105/103/113 HNL/SFO/YVR/LAX-MNL. Cons PAL Philippine Airlines loses out to the premium competition like Eva Air SIngapore Airlines Cathay Pacific Korean Air Asiana JAL and ANA for that reason
noel is the best hungover content to watch
I’d say it’s kill or cure, for some people my droning voice is enough to give them a headache 😅
Right now most planes are flying over 105% LOAD FACTOR
The designers put in a safety margin and the airlines are literally pushing it right to the absolute maximum of how much weight they can put in that plane before it can NEVER be able to take off.
Pretty Normal for a low-cost airline.
Try PAL quite more spacious
Haha, haven't even watched yet and I know how this is going yo go. I flied Cebu Pacific myself from Manila to Cebu once en route to another island. Air travel in the Phillipines is pretty awful: packed planes and airports, chronic delays...
Was that really Manila Airport? Looks much snazzier then when I was last there (i e: 2017). I have flown Cebu Pacific between Manila and Taipei, but suppose it wasn't this one (it was much emptier too)
As soon as I saw that they removed the toilets, this was my instant thought: "boy it'll be tough waiting for the loo".
Noel, how did you like sitting next to the biggest guy on the plane? 😂
Removing bathrooms in order to add more seats. That’s helpful. You’ll spend the entire flight lining up to go to the can.
Just watched the video. I always wondered how Cebu airlines was. I guess if you need cheap ticket and less than 5 hours might be okay. I wonder what countries this configuration they can fly into. I also assume checked in bags were extra, but did they charge for carry on too?
No they don't charge for carry one, the longest flights they do are to Duabi and sydney/melbourne
THIS IS TOOOOOOOO FUNNY. . .& entertaining. . . ..WILL YOU FLY CEBU PACIFIC AGAIN???
Your pay for what you get!!! :) Cheap versus Normal flight? Not much to be surprised with. :)
My question is how do they get so many passengers off in an emergency evacuation?
The plane is certified for a maximum 460 pax precisely due to emergency evac limits. ...otherwise, it could even fit a few more.
Sardine class / Cattle class, we'll take more care of you✈Fly the friendly way That airfare of $150 was very reasonable / good deal Noel👍 awesome flight review too! 10/10
Hi Noel love the videos, can I ask what search engine do you use for booking flights? And any tips for finding cheaper business class tickets?
