there's a another belt loop under the Velcro patch, and the material of the sheath is double reinforced. it isn't a fighting knife at all, the steel is 440c which is very strong in comparison to many other Search&Rescue knives and is a common steel used for making Bowies along with other survival knives. the S&W CKSUR series is well established in the military- especially coast guard and air force. I'm a total blade-head and this is one of my favorites, you're making a great decision to put this in your outdoors kit, bugout bag or whatever you wanna call it.

+Britt Thomas S&W CKSUR2 is being made by Tailor Brands LLC, which also makes Schrades (you can find similarities in style between their lines of products). Schrade Frontier SCHF52, Ontario Spec Plus SP1 and KA-BAR 1211 (USMC fighting knife) are made of 1095 steel, KA-BAR being x2 more expensive. S&W CKSUR2 is inexpesive, clearly styled after USMC fighting knives, but made of 7Cr17 High Carbon Stainless Steel and there are reviews that it tends to break at the hilt. From your experience how durable/sturdy is S&W CKSUR2? I'm not talking batoning here, I have an ax for that, but rather how strong is the blade when performing cutting and chopping, how well does it hold the edge? Ontario SP1 little bit thicker than KA-BAR, but I couldn't find any specs on CKSUR blade thickness. I figure it didn't break on you, but people complained that hilt and aluminum rubberized handle become lose with the time (sometimes within days!), how's your knife holding on? I'm relatively new to survival knives and thinking of buying one or one of each...

It is only a 15 dollar knife nothing special. I still have it and it is still in good condition but its no woods knife.
