It's all about calculated risk. This knife will do utility tasks just fine. The probability that my wife will need to use this knife for any other purpose is astronomically small. I'd take tactics and training over gear any day.
I had a S&W bowie, it was pure shit, crap steel, nicked the blade just chopping small trees around the house, I would not recommend a S&W knife to anyone I was very disappointed I expected better from the S&W name
