Shigeno had more style and nailed his tricks than both 2nd and 3rd placers.
Was about to comment this. Shigeno criminally under scored
But he did two frontside 1440s for each run. The judges will not reward you for doing two of the same trick, as impressive as the trick is.

Does anyone here agree that those Japanese riders are way more technical and go bigger than Scotty, but don’t get rewarded for it? So sad to see. It happens every half comp
Thank you! These dudes are actually trying to progress the sport, the bias with Scotty for no reason is insane that 86 run to me was better. And the minute that dude starts getting triples on lock and a full run it'll force all the other riders to do the same.
I think thats what Kaishu was saying by airing 23 feet out of the pipe on his final run when he was in 2nd and could have won it. Ive already put down a better run than the guy in first twice so wy do it again lol. Went out smiling too. Total class act
This is a snowboard contest not gymnastics. Scott adds style to his run while everyone else is spinning to win. All of their tricks and look the same and on alot of runs they have duplicate tricks. I am very happy with how this was scored and I normally don't compliment the judges.

Yeah the judges and commentators are all friends with a lot of the American riders, so they can do the same thing as a foreign rider and just not get the recognition for it, it's really sad, it's mostly a popularity contest but at least it's still fun to watch.

Agreed. But most these dudes 100% are rocking earbuds. Or the crowd/announcers/drones/etc would affect their riding.
Watched this live last night, on re-watch still a sham. It's a shame how blatant the bias was in this judging, they did Shigeno in particular super dirty on his first 2 runs. Hirano should have had a comparable score to Scotty (both were 90-91s) and likely won. Xgames judging just pushes the name they want to win for sponsorship and clicks in the western market. Really sad this competition has lost integrity.
I 100% agree! Those Japanese riders have way more technical tricks and go bigger than Scotty James every time, but they favor Scotty for, politically, the wrong reasons. Not fair to the riders going bigger. So sad
@@joshtaz It's an unfortunate thing that happens when sport is a business sadly. At least we have international events now elsewhere to somewhat provide more fair contest than xgames at this point.

7:55 the way Ayumu lands sideways then goes 1.6 feet out on the next hit and somehow gains so much speed and goes so high on the next… so much talent. I swear his runs through the pipe are quieter than anyone else, you can barely hear his board cutting through the snow. He has so much style and speed even through the flat. Dude you nice.

What is the purpose of the blue on the superpipe?
It is so the snowboarder can see the lip and the pipe. When you get in the snow and everything is white it all tends to blend together.

Is it me or did they go ridiculously cheap on the xgame medals 🥇?! It’s a piece of rope with plastic lol. Just sayin I know it’s not everything but come on. Get some flava flav fake bling 🤑. Lol
I've said this in previous years... can't see exactly what the riders are doing at night with black background and riders wearing dark colour clothing. It takes away from their performances and sucks from a visual aspect for people watching on TV.
