Just the video I needed!!! thank you so much...
That should be Phillies red paint! Sorry but the Phillies just won game 4! World Series here we come! The sign is awesome. Trying to learn about routers and lasers and I appreciate the time and talent of all these RUclips contributors. Wish us luck😊
Wow. This seems as though you figured all this out on your own. That is impressive. While not quite a professional production process, you are making a product that is absolutely professional quality.
Kudos to you.
thanks for sharing
Just found this video and what a great tutorial for me. You explain it so well and is exactly what I needed. You included the bits, depths and all that I was looking for. Well done on a great video and will definately subscribe.
awesome!
Great in depth tutorial video!! I Recently purchased the Shapeoko 5 Pro 4x4 (great machine & I absolutely love it btw) & have been wondering how everyone keeps getting different colors on their signs/projects & knew nothing about vinyl & using vinyl. Truly thank you for showing this!
** Love the sign 🪧 too btw ** 👍
Nice work, Thanks for sharing the process!
There's a better way to apply the film called backrolling that I learned from applying window film. Peel back 1 inch and then fold the backing film. Line up the opposite end that has the film on it and then use the card to apply the peeled inch. Now slowly remove the backing film whilst evenly pressing the oramask with the card. You'll get perfectly aligned films with no bubbles doing this.
Hey, that is my technique. I thought I figured it out. Not as clever as I thought I was.
Thanks, that was a great lesson !
Very nice video and sign. Just bought a small 3018 cnc to start on, so far so good. Learning what bits to use as. Always wanted to do multicolored signs. Got to try one now after seeing your video...Great job.
Thanks! I’ll be releasing more videos soon!!
Thanks Tim. I have been looking for something like this since I have essential tremors and can not paint and keep it close.
Reallly cool design! Love it
Thanks bud i really appreciate this. Im based in the UK. And im just starting out. This has really cleared up all my questions! and what i've been doing wrong!
Great vid! I think unless you are spraying the piece, you could get away with a single pass for everything needing paint
I pass a heat gun over the oramask and press it in with a credit card or roller before making my cut. Seems to provide better adhesion to the wood.
Great video i just got my x carve and have made two little signs. I have been searching for a week on painting the signs and by far you have the best video i have found. Take care and stay safe. I subscribe as well
Thanks… hope to get back to making more soon!
Nice tutorial! Great product!
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks great, but why not just carve the entire thing and then paint the areas since they’re not touching edges? Also, I suggest using a hairdryer to speed up the acrylic paint drying.
I've got to agree with you ,would have been easier to paint the whole thing in one go,no need for all that tape..😁👍
Awesome!!!
That is awesome!
Great video! Next time try to line up the blue film on the widest part of your project first it will make up the lineup a lot easier. Cheers 🍻!
OCD kicking in... is the bottom of the "E" missing? Still looks great though.... Great tutorial. Delivers the point.
Nice video, thanks!
I do wonder if you set your bits and cut depth before you made the duplicates if you could just do that once and they’d carry over? Then you’d only need to modify the bit and depth for your profile cut.
Amazing video tutorial, I think I'll have to try mine too. Very good project. Thank you and of course your subscriber
Using some recycled undies, just going to rub the crap out of it… no pun intended. Love it 😂😅
Did u think I was going to use a new pair? 😂😂
@@tkcworx2760 idk i just hope you got all the crap rubbed out 💩 😅
Awesome
Nice technique, sign looks awesome. Music is too loud compared to your voice, but still a good video!
No more videos?? These are neat.
Hello there… coming soon!!
Not too much of a detail for something I would like to try. Thanks for the detailed info.
Thank you again for the video, I learnt a LOT when you showed the settings. If you ever need a software to automate something, or watch the screen and click on it or type in something by itself, let me know.
Three easy questions: (I never done 2 bit carves):
1. You have to set Z=0 after every bit change, correct? I did not see that in the video.
2. What did you check when you looked at the simulation?
3. What was the problem when you first carved the white? I could not understand you. That it was a short carve with the straight bit?
Nice work. I definitely need to get some oramask. I have been doing way too many steps and too much work just to get letters painted.
It definitely helps in painting. Thanks!
I purchased similar sign in etsy, but I cannot highlight individual items like you did in video... its only the full beer sign profile when highlighted. New to this and wondering if you have some insight or purchase the product you did on etsy. Thanks for your help.
How long does a project like this take you? Minus the time on the CNC
Excellent video!
This looks really great!! But I have a question though, I'm a little confused; at about 31:00 you did the profile, but I don't understand how you separated the sign from the the rest of the wood. I don't think you showed that part.
So after the profile what was the next step other than painting.
That part I would've liked to have seen.
How did you get it separated?
Thanks and looks amazing dude!! 👍
Since he lifted it up as one piece, I'm guessing he added tabs to hold it in place and then used a small saw to cut the tabs (sanding them afterwards)
Nice project, but you need a lav mic 😉
On your comments about the Amana V bits, you made a statement that you only get one use out of the insert. Are you saying that after every V carve, you have to replace the V bit blade insert? Do they really go dull that fast or is there more to this statement? Thanks, keep up the good informational videos.
I may have Mia spoken in the inserted bits, they stay sharp for quite a while. I may have replaced them once since owning them. Great bits especially the 90deg v-bit. Thanks for watching.
It’s way Easier and faster to just staying it red, carve the whole thing out when hand painting it lol. This is how to do it if you were spraying it…..
That blue film is the truth, I bought a braying tool on amazon and I haven't had any lifting issues, I also do a shallow first pass.
Is that a workbee you got or a queenbee?
X-carve
QUESTION: When staining/painting before carving... Does the stain/paint gunk up the bit?
No… cuts just fine.
What font do you use? It's cool for wooden signs. 😃
This font was actually part of the bought file from Etsy.
@@tkcworx2760 thanks
What software are you using, where it simulates the 2D and 3D design of the part
Easel
So I like (and thus liked) your video, but in the area's you stop talking, you insert really loud music. Could you lower the the volume dramatically or leave it out completely as it is really offputting (at least for me). Thanks for the video.
Can you send a link to the PNG file please
Do you know, that the Amana v-bit costs here in my country ? 69.93 Euro's thats
75.36 Dollars In America its $27.72
I'd call that "GRIFTING"
Oh and by the way the 1/8th bit is 2.7 times the American price. So thanks very much But I go to aliexpress or some other cheap brand I can buy 50 of those
CNC
Ve Carving
You could have held off on all the painting until the profile being done.
Could you share the project on Easel?
Oh, I see, you sell on Etsy, so disregard the question.
I believe this is already in the Easel projects by another maker.
@@tkcworx2760 Thank you again for your time. Congrats showing all important steps!
iF YOU COULD RUN IT FASTER??????? you would of!!!!!!!! why does everyone fib!!! about that ??? Or why even bring it out??? JUST DO IT! MEANWHILE STAY @ feedrate!!!! and there's nothing wrong running it 70 FR IF THATS ALL YOUR hobbyist machine can do?? instead of tearing through everything!!!!I strongly say run your machine at the rate that it best moves!!? HA!!!
skip the music, yikes
Your title states “How to” implying that anyone can do this. Well genius not everyone has a 100 thousand dollar wood cutter. So in reality you can’t hand make anything.
