Yes keep it open during drying. Some people have said the seal is not great so another mod is to print another seal which you can put under the one there to provide a tighter fit.
I bought the the same dryer and it is still the best I got. Tested many others and it dries very fast.

You are right a lot of problems can be corrected with a good dry in it. I made some desiccant holders for my bambu ams. I made it on my k1 and it was stringy and halfway through blocked the nozzle. The next day I did it after a long dehydrate and they came out perfect.
There are mods for it including adding desiccant inside and adding better filament guides. both recommended. I also going to do a mod for the front clear acrylic to put in a full-time hydrometer/temperature gauge.
I ordered the Comgrow dryer. Almost the exact same dryer. And its bloody brilliant Tony. Makes a world of differene

@@greedy3d480 I almost gave up 3d printing to be honest. I thought it was a dodgy printer or crap filament but i cracked on and did more research and found the problem. For those just starting out. There is always an answer to your problems folks. research. research and follow Greedy 3D 😀

To date, I've been tossing the dessicant packets in it and let the rolls sit there.
I hardly have a moisture problem anyways

I have the same dryer and a k1, i was concerned about having the filament in the air between the k1 and the dryer, apparently this can be issue for hydroscopic filaments, so i did a mod to have ptfe going from the k1 filament sensor to the dryer, works nicely. My original comment with some links was deleted, but you can find on printables

@@greedy3d480search for ' Creality K1 Lid Riser With Side Load Filament' on printables, you can also find my make on there showing it connected to my filament dryer, I use a PTFE connector I designed and printed and attached with gorilla double sided tape, however the model is not on printables, let me know if you are interested and I will add it.
This also works with a simpler mod which does not require printing the riser which is ' Creality K1 Filament Sensor mod' on printables
Just bought one. wanted a dryer that i can use for storage to.
And yeah keep the lid open when drying. most "other" people close it (since they are idiots) and dont read the manual :P
I bought 4 pack's of 50 gram reusable silica bag's (wisedry i think) , gonna see how that works.
