  • It was subtle, but it was racism nonetheless. It happened twice in one day to Moe over vacation and he stood up for himself. Let's talk about it!

I would’ve said something real quick. At least something like “don’t call me little boy” “what little boy?” “I know you’re not talking to me like that”

I think I would feel some kind of way in those circumstances as well.
One time my husband and I stopped by a gas station to grab some snacks and drinks. The first thing the cashier says is "just want to let you all know our ebt isn't working."
My husband goes "what's ebt?" And he tried backpeddling a little bit by saying he himself has ebt and he tried using his card and it didn't work so he's forewarning all customers before they check out.
That all may be true, but some things are widely inappropriate coming from certain people, and this was one of those things.
Don't assume anything, it would've been better if he would have simply said good morning and let us initiate our payment.

Old dude must NOT have been travelling with a female because that boy comment wouldve been a problem.. . .They're called micro-aggressions. Can you even imagine always, always, always not being able to just relax? Having to always be on guard? It's mentally exhausting for Black people to always have wonder, "Is it me or am I crazy?"🤔🤔🤔

How is Bert still pretending to not understand this. Every time they talk about race, weight and homosexual topics he pretends not to understand. Moe has explained this to him on so many occasions. This is reality for some.

I think that’s just his way of sympathizing with him as he understands that he can’t really empathize. It’s his way of validating Moe by saying this isn’t something that would happen to him or even cross his mind as a white person.

Similar to how the other person replied I think that is his way of saying he doesn't understand WHY this is happening but he does understand THAT it appens it's just WHY does it still happen that is absolutely frustrating.

I’m in a interracial relationship. My fiancé is black and I’m white and every time we are out in public we deal with it. People staring and whispering. Giving us death stares. We just moved and our neighbor is an older woman probably in her 70s. She came out to meet us and she shook my hand smiling and when my fiancé walked outside to meet her she immediately changed her face and wouldn’t even shake his hand or say hello.. When I’m outside playing with the kids she comes outside and just stares and the kids try saying hi and she just ignores them,, it ENRAGES ME!! 🤬 It’s sickening how some people think

I'm watching again, because I needed to come back and say something. I have a very close man friend who is black, and over the last 5+ years that we have been friends I have seen some nasty shit because he is black and I am white.
For example. we met at a restaurant for lunch one time, and he was there first. When I got there he told me he didn't feel comfortable with the waitress as she was cold and unfriendly toward him. When I got there and sat down he said she was a little warmer to me. He went off to the bathroom and she came over to take our orders, and she was amazingly friendly and warm to me - while he wasn't there. I asked for a couple of moments until he could get back, and she stayed chatting with me. When he came back she was still warm with me, took my order, and then turned to him to take his order and got chilly toward him. Racist? For sure.
Another example... we went grocery shopping and when we were checking out, the cashier was black. She was all warm to HIM (and, BTW, he's a good-looking man!) but when she saw that I was with him she got very cold and had an attitude toward us both. I don't know, reverse racism maybe? Or maybe he was very clearly "with" me, and either jealous or that she didn't like a black man with a white woman? I don't know.
Bottom line is, racism is a real thing, it still happens, and nobody is more aware of it than a black man or his white lady.... and even single black men. I don't know if this happens to black women, but I would love to know.
We are all the same, no matter what the skin color or nationality. We all get dressed the same way, we all actually do everything the same way, and we all bleed red.

As far as the flight attendant goes, that was very strange..... and, demeaning, toward you.

I think the flight attendant may have been flirting with you. To me, white female, I might say that in flirting or for fun but I hope I wouldn't say that to a black man because I do believe its offensive. But let me ask you this... I had a male black co-worker, probably in his 20s, call me (50+ white female) Boss. I was never his supervisor or manager. We were in the same dept but different roles. He sat in the cubicle opposite me and if he had to ask me something or tell me something, he started calling me Boss. It's been a while so I don't remember if he would say "Yes, Boss" or just say "here you go Boss" but I was offended. I believe I asked him why he called me Boss and he said something like because you are the boss. Maybe me trying to casually train him or test his job knowledge randomly made him think I was trying to boss him around but if that was the case, it was not my intention. But what is your opinion on a black man calling a white female or male "Boss?"

I REALLY like you,, Moe...doesn't matter what colour your skin is....I was raised to like ppl, not colour...
I am only prejudice against one thing... arseholes...white, black, brown, red, green, purple....
I'm so sorry you had those issues from a MAJOR arsehole....I think I would have gone mental....
This world is so messed up , ppl are just so rude and angry, I some times wish we can send all these ppl on an island and let them fight it out with each other...
I really think that ppl have changed so much during the pandemic and also, watching our supposed government... Ppl have gotten more hateful towards others and some just say what they want, even the rude things...
I have an idea that could change the world, but ppl can't ever do this, but the one thing that can solve our issues and that is...MIND YOUR OWN FRICKING BUSINESS!!!!
I would give you a HUGE hug if I was there, but I am literally on the other side of country in Oregon
These ugly trolls will eventually get smacked down...
Hope you had a nice Easter!!!! Keep being you and know that there are a lot of ppl who love your heart!!!! Straight up!!!
