Nice job. I have DTV and have it for 11 years and have 2 displays (main and aux) like you with 6 ports and 1 display died and Kohler stopped making those models so I have to get 2 DTV+ displays and the conversion kit for DTV I interface. I seen the video on RUclips and it's easy. Make sure you unplug the power before you connect the cables and adapters. I personally like the old displays with the knob better but the new ones are like Iphones and that's were Kohler is going.
I am thinking about putting this in my new house. A couple questions for you. 1. I understand that it needs power to start, but what if I am all lathered up when the power goes out? Does it cut off and leave me stranded like that? 2. You didn't show it come up to temp., but does the display show the temp you set or the ACTUAL water temp? 3. How will I know when the water is at the set temp.? Does it beep or something when ready?
Thanks for the question. It will tell you the water is cold and then it will show you the temp as it warms up to what you set it at. It always starts at 100 degrees before you set your temp. If the power goes out you are SOL until it comes back on. I have a house generator so that makes it nice.
Hi, I was wondering how did the dtv system effect your shower’s water pressure? And if beforehand you had a basic shower system? And what Was your shower water pressure like? The reason I ask is from my reach, when you use all of your output options, the water pressure becomes so low it’s not at all enjoyable or worth the effort/$, especially with an Electric tankless hot water system, thanks
3/4” water lines to supply the system to the thermostatic valve. I can supply 3 of the 5 options before I notice a pressure difference. I can do all body sprays and two shower heads and still have plenty of pressure, but you can tell there is a drop in pressure. I generally use both shower heads and one body spray or the rain head.
Does steam require a port on the digital valve or can you plumb a separate supply line to the steam and then turn the generator on/off from the DTV+ control? I am in the middle of designing my system and my understanding was that did not need a valve port for the steam generator, but I would have to supply a cold water line to the generator and then a control wire from the DTV+ controller to the generator and a temp probe would also have to be connected. I have been debating 2X of the 3 port valves vs 1 6 Port valve.
Yes, you can Bi pass the port. You will just connect it to the module. There is a good diagram. support.kohler.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002672394-DTV-and-Steam-Generator-Wiring-Diagrams
What type (gas/electric/hybrid/tankless) and size (gallons) water heater did you use? Did you connect each set of your 3 body sprayers together to one port on the valve? It looks like Kohler recommends that each have a separate port?
Just pipe them with a pressure balancing loop. I made mine where, when I shut it off, all the water drains out of the line, through the bottom shower valve. I didn’t want the bottom loop to hold any water when I shut it down. Hope that helps.
Thanks for taking the time to do the video been looking into these systems lots of Moen videos but these systems are kind of hard to find information on I think it's because usually they're professional contractors only getting this stuff versus the other ones are more DIY
No, you have an access panel that goes over the GFI. You have to have access to it, so you meet code. You will also need access to it if it trips. Plus you will need access to all your other components.
Awesome install! Did you get your shower doors on? Wondering how the system has been performing. Specifically is that rain panel worth it? Being gravity fed I’ve read some reviews of people complaint about the lack of pressure. I’d assume if you couple it with regular shower heads then it should be sufficient. Also are your supply lines 1/2 or 3/4?
Yes, I did get my shower doors install. The system is nice. The rain head is expensive. If there was one thing I had to remove, it would be the rain head. The pressure is like a heavy rain that it makes it relaxing. There is also another mode on it where it is a down pour. The down pour is confined to an area about the size of a standard shower head. The pressure is as great as a normal shower head. The down fall is the how much it cost. I just don’t see the value.
I like smart homes and all but this is beyond stupid. It takes less then 1 second for me to turn in and off the shower. This looks like it would take forever to just turn on the water and put it at a temperature you want. Can you imagine if you running late for work or something? If I'm in a rush I would have to run out the house with a dirty ass to get to work on time.

Very helpful! Did you add the steam shower? We are looking at the system w the steam shower and curious if you have feedback.
I did not.

If your electricity goes out, Is there a manual override to get the shower to work?
You will want a generator back up. Otherwise you will not be able to use the shower.
@@shanksta81 Or have a regular shower in another bathroom
do you need all the mechanics + the shower sprays or can you just get the panel and install it?

Hay did the interface mounting bracket come with it or you had to get it separate? Thank you
You have to buy it separate. It’s at the 30 second mark
Thanks for sharing that video. Where did you install the access panel?
I have a walk in closet on the other side of the shower. That’s where I installed it.
Hello, what type of suspended ceiling did you use? In the shower
I framed it with 2x4’s. Then I installed cement board. After that I tiled it.
@@shanksta81 thank you looks nice
My shower won’t turn off! Help quick my house is flooding!!!!!!

Tankless. Navien model NPE - 240A is what I have. It runs about $1800. Yes, I connected 3 body sprayers per port.

Hi, do you need to use Kohler shower head and body sprayer or is it compatible with any other brand? TIA
You can use any shower heads or body sprayers you’d like.

Did you cover up an outlet in the wall? That’s not code in this state.

Does your dtv system have the kohler konnect module ?
No, but now that I see that’s out, I’ll be adding it. Thanks.
@@shanksta81 when you get the chance please do make a video of the Kohler Konnect app and the dtv thanks
That’s like 10 grand 😂 but if u got it why the hell not it’s bad ass
It’s pricey! When the power goes out you need a generator too. That’s another $6000

Actually it’s just a push of a button and the shower is on and at the temp you want. It’s faster than a standard shower.
