Once again saved me on my 79 camaros guage set up!! Thanks for this video brother! I recently used your steering gearbox vids help and everything worked perfectly!
Hey, I know its been months, but I'm about to do the same on my 1980 camaro. Do you happen to know if this gauge set fits in that spot in front of the gear shifter? It looks perfect for it and I'm about to try it out but wanted to know if you happened to remember
@@yeagerj7747 yes sir! I have mine setup under the radio area in front of the shifter. Works perfectly 👌 I used a equus oil/water/volt setup. Hope that helps
Mechanical is the way to go. Get rid of the flimsy plastic line and get the copper line kit. Stewart Warner OIL PRESSURE LINE GAUGE KIT COPPER 1/8" Diameter 6 ft. 82553-F, Autometer makes one also. I also bought a water neck from NAPA Part #: BK 6051019 or Dorman 902-2009 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing they have the provision to add the water tempt prob, I use this set up on my 73 Nova. I got this set up idea from some local hotrod racers.😎
Thanks for the vid! No judgement, just a suggestion for others and next time... I saw in a different vid suggesting testing the temp sender (and new thermostats) in a pot of boiling water to check for accuracy before hooking it up as the quality of new parts, etc isn't what it used to be. Looking forward to you firing up the 'bird!
Hello folks, Do I have to purge the oil line? I see air bubbles and I'm not sure that's going to affect the accuracy of the gauge, Thanks for your help.
Unless you are going to spend the money and get a quality one like AutoMeter , I don't recommend electronic gauges. The sending units on the chinese ones are trash, just straight garbage. They go out quick if they work at all and are far too often inaccurate! Mechanical gauges are reliable and inexpensive.
I have a Land Rover 2006 I have to keep my current gauge working otherwise my computer's will be worse than they normally are... I use an inline top hose adapter with a water temperature threaded hole, worked great...
For a longterm set of gauges it would probally be best to invest in some electric gauges because those mechanical gauges have so many problems with those cheezy oil lines breaking and spraying oil everywhere.
I'm in agreement. I'm using a more electronic looking one. I broke the water temp in my lap. Is it safe to use Teflon on the oil sensor? I need help gentlemen.
It's called a Compression Fitting Nut,,the 'BELL" looking thing is called Ferrell..Just an FYI everyone...DO NOT USE THAT plastic tubing get some 1/8" copper tubing....As you can over tighten the nut an cut it and over time it will become brittle..Think a minute how much of a mess that would be in side. High pressure and "HOT" oil
All I wanted to kno was did the gauges work...not complaining about how it went in a particular car...guess I'll have to do my own review on the actual kit not the installation...cause no matter the brand...installation will be the same ..fishing wires and hoses thru the fire wall...nobody wants to do that but thats what's need to insatll...
Guessing by how high you look…. Possibly drunk…. DONT DO IT!!! every time I drink I want to take my 79’ out, and my wife becomes the voice of reason. It’s called being a gear head and just loving driving old 8s

That’s a great freaking idea!!! The next set I buy I will be doing this! Thanks for the tip I appreciate it!
Thank you your video was helpful in knowing which sensors are which for the gauges. It helped me and my 70 Monte A LOt
Right on!!! I bet that 1970 Monte Carlo is sweet-looking!! thanks for watching.

Great clarification boss. Cheers
Thanks for going over this kit. I feel an electric oil gauge is the way to go, but not sure. Did you find a better set?

Brian you're on the money, she blew oil as soon as I started it up! AUGGHHHHHH Thanks for watching and leaving a comments!
So which gauges would you recommend now that these seem pretty cheap
Would you assume it'd be similar if nit the same for my 78 marquis?
Yes should be about the same, the gauge and sender are the two items that make it work with just about anything.
What about a 64 impala with a small block 283?
I'm in agreement. I'm using a more electronic looking one. I broke the water temp in my lap. Is it safe to use Teflon on the oil sensor? I need help gentlemen.
I don't like to use tape on the threads, sometimes the treads are part of the grounding
@@ArrowheadGarage Thank you so much. That's true. Didn't think about the ground.
El video que tanto buscaba👍🏻 , thanks, very good .
Glad the video helped you out Richado!
Any idea if there's a tachometer that would fit into one of the holes? I need that way more than Amperes lol

So your enginge haves 2 temperature sensors?
I have one that runs the little temp light on my dash and a second one running the temp gauge I just installed, so yes 2.

Yep they be working alright.
Good video
Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!
..why would you not show us the connection of the ammeter??
Cuz that one is easy... do you need a video on how to do it?
..easy is different for many,..at 70,..I am not as confident.

Thanks for watching and dropping a comment, not drunk or high but my wife lets me drive my Porsche, my Pontiac, my Titan, or my Acura anytime. Thanks!
What was wrong with the gauges?
The sending units are just not high quality :(
It a small block Chevy 350
That it is out of a mid '70's car from what I can tell from the block casting numbers. Thanks for watching!
Advertiser. Lies....Don't use that por cleaner it is a scam you'll waste your money... it doesn't do anything like it says...
I can use just regular rubbing and it works
