I did the same thing with the plastic tube when i was younger an after 3 yrs it started to leak out of the tube an was dripping out the hose in the cab an since then its been copper or stainless braded hose i dont like how brittle it gets from getting hot an cold
You don't use teflon tape. You need to use = Loctite Thread Sealant paste. Only applied on the first couple of threads for a brass temp. fitting not to leak. Teflon tape is dumb..GM never once in all 115 years NEVER used teflon tape for any reason.
