      @@MonkeyStealsPeach Yes thank you 4 understanding that , when it comes to fighting with a martial art based on animals & insects, 1. Learning from a school, dogo or academy a disciple gets half the knowledge of movement of the creature from hundreds of years of traditional styles which maybe still effective today. 2.True knowledge is self discovery of the movements of the creatures alive today. With good martial perception 1 can observed the movements of creatures today consider an ideal from them. The fictional technique Centipede of the film 🎥 5 Venoms, I actually observed a Centipede I had as a pet & developed an exercise course based on 1. The techniques of the creature in the movie 🎥 2. The actual movements of a real Centipede 🙌 🦵& created a couple of fatal moves that never been shown in movies because of my resource.

    Excellent summation of Hao family history and theory! As you know, my shifu, Zhang Wei Fu, is a member of the Hao Heng Lu lineage. It is great to see other members of the family opening up about these things. As far as the "sixth songs" I have heard that he was actually a nephew who came to live with the Hao family after his father died. Though I can not positively substantiate this. Thank you for this video! This is why I support your channel and encourage my students to do the same.

    I used to work with a guy who knew some Plum Flower Mantis. He demonstrated a form for me, but he wouldn't teach me any. He said he wasn't qualified to teach, but I suspect he just didn't know me well enough. Maybe if I had stayed there longer I could have gained his confidence.

    As a descendant of Hao Family Mantis Arts, I have to say the system you introduced is mainly with Hao Hengxin. Taiji Pi(太极劈) and Chuanzhi (穿枝) forms you mentioned in the video were created by Hao Hengxin and are not for his brothers lineage. In my lineage which is from Hao Henglu, we don't have those forms but focus on other trainings.
    Also, in Hao Mantis system, it's not called Luanjie (乱接), but Lanjie(拦截). It is written in the family system scroll. The moves seem similar to Taiji Mantis, but the applications are very different. Actually, the differences are more than 80% in those 2 systems. As you said, we don't sway our body that much.

    • @MonkeyStealsPeach
      @MonkeyStealsPeach  Год назад

      Thanks for the info. I have always heard those forms are from Hao Lian Ru. From where do you know that Hao Heng Xin created them?

    • @SeanWangNYC
      @SeanWangNYC Год назад

      @@MonkeyStealsPeach Hao Henglu and Hao Hengpo's students did not know them initially. From what I know, Hao Bin's students in Qingdao and Hao Henglu's students in Harbin and Chaoyang learned those forms from Hao Hengxin's students.
      In Hao system, White money steals peach (白猿偷桃, as your ID) is a new form as well as Chuanzhi (穿枝) . Because Hao family has another form just called White monkey (白猿), which people sometimes referring it as Old white monkey. The moves in White monkey is unique and has few same ones you can find in other forms. I was told that was brought from Sheng Yuan Men (圣猿门, Holy Monkey style) by Hao Lianru, as a reminder for his old style.

    Frankly speaking, don't you think that what we see today of these ancient forms that had been totally erased during the Maoist revolution is largely deformed by the modern Wu Shu aesthetics and perhaps even profoundly altered to the point of being as superficial as Wu Shu itself?

      No, not at all. My teacher and many others I have met had learnt the art before the cultural revolution. Also, the way the art is practiced in places like Taiwan is basically the same too
